Look for gyms that provide family fitness classes, parent-child workouts, or specialized activities designed for kids, such as sports leagues or swimming lessons.
- Childcare Services: A family-friendly gym should have reliable and safe childcare services available on-site. This allows parents to work out while their children are supervised by trained staff in a stimulating and secure environment.
- Family Memberships: Gyms that offer affordable and flexible family membership options make it easier for the whole family to join and participate. Look for gyms that provide discounted rates or customized membership packages for families to encourage everyone’s involvement.
- Variety of Fitness Options: The best gyms for families provide a wide range of fitness options to accommodate different interests and fitness levels. This may include cardio equipment, strength training areas, group fitness classes, swimming pools, indoor or outdoor sports facilities, and even recreational activities like rock climbing or trampolining.

This may include dedicated play areas, kids’ fitness equipment, family changing rooms, or accessible restroom facilities. These features create a welcoming environment for families with young children.
- Educational Programs: Gyms that offer educational programs related to health, nutrition, and overall wellness can benefit families. Look for gyms that provide workshops, seminars, or resources on topics like healthy eating, child development, or family-oriented fitness tips.
- Safe and Clean Environment: Maintaining a safe and clean environment is crucial for family-oriented gyms. This includes regular equipment maintenance, adequate safety measures, proper sanitation practices, and attentive staff to ensure the well-being of all family members.
- Family Events and Activities: Engaging families through special events and activities helps create a sense of community within the gym. Look for gyms that organize family-friendly events like fitness challenges, holiday-themed activities, or outdoor picnics to foster social connections among families.
- Convenient Hours and Locations: Family-friendly gyms should have convenient operating hours and accessible locations. This allows family members to fit workouts into their schedules more easily, making it feasible for everyone to participate in fitness activities.
- Positive Reviews and Testimonials: Before choosing a gym for your family, consider reading reviews or testimonials from other families who are members. Their experiences can provide valuable insights into the gym’s family-friendly atmosphere, services, and overall suitability.
Remember, the best gym for families will depend on individual preferences, the specific needs of your family members, and your budget. It’s important to visit potential gyms, ask for trial memberships or tours, and assess how well they align with your family’s requirements before making a decision.

The locker rooms always seem to need attention. The cardio room that shows the movies seems to only work 50% of the time.
**update** I’ve been going to this gym for about 2 months or so, and I had to remove one of the 3 stars I previously gave them. Pretty much all of the leg extension machines were broken. This is one of the few reasons I keep a gym membership. 😒 clients should get a discount when the machines, movie screens, etc., aren’t able to be used. Oh, and the bathrooms still need attention. 🥴By M. Lewis (4 months ago)Not the gym to go to if you like working equipment. At any given time, you’ll find at least 5 popular machines not working. Yesterday, my first 3 machines I went to use were broken. All 3 are the only version of those machines in the gym. The equipment is extremely old and even the ones that do work, do not work properly. They don’t even provide enough handle attachments for the functional trainer machines. There’s not a pair of cable grips in the entire place. Asked to speak to a manager yesterday and was told one wouldn’t be in for a couple hours. Massage chairs are always broken, as well.Just a horribly mismanaged location and it all has to do with the quality of the equipment and the countless machines that are broken at any given time. Bathrooms are disgusting. Urine all over the men’s room floor. Staff is nice but they means nothing if the gym itself is trash. Worst part is management will respond to this with a generic response saying someone will reach out and they never will.
(Insert generic mgmt response below)
EDIT: Gym just gets worse. There’s a new piece of equipment broken every day. A week+ until it’s fixed. 2 of the 4 massage chairs aren’t working. Multiple treadmills aren’t working. No other way to put it, this is a horribly managed, dump of a gym.
By Anthony Di Domizio (in the last week)I have lost my motivation to come back to this gym. Their hosts or greeters are a so rude. Weeks ago I went with my sister to the gym. My sister scanned her phone, I sorta took my time because I didn’t have my phone ready. Once I scanned it, one of the girls that works there started yelling ” what about your guest!” There was 2 more people there and I didn’t know who she was actually yelling to. She kept on going as if she was yelling at cattle, until my sister had to tell her she wasn’t a guest, that she had her own account, she scanned it again to prove it. Later that same day, we wanted to use the massage chairs, for which one of the guys, days ago, had showed us that we could scan the pass and use it, so that’s what we did. But another of the guys that work there came to us in an threatening tone “Ladies, excuse me ladies! You have to come to us in order to use the chairs.” We explained that last time we came, we were told to just scan and use the chair. He said that it was no longer that way and stood there like expecting us to get out when we had already scanned out phones. Not sure why your workers seem always so frustrated and angry! I haven’t seen any of them wiping down the chairs, I don’t mind doing it myself but the sign says we CANNOT USE THE SANITIZING WIPES and is all we are guven inside the chair room. Whenever I ask for service they tell me the chair number but No one comes in and wipes it down, even after I used it… i get it, sure other customers break stuff, the place gets packed!, and I have no issues following policies and rules. But it is not the first time I don’t feel welcome. I regret signing up with this gym! I live so close to this one and I don’t drive, so I felt motivated to do it. Besides seeing people working out in sandals, broken massage chairs all of the time, homeless eating or sitting outside; and people rushing you to use the machines that sometimes have a terrible view in the angle they are positioned. I just have lost any motivation to come back. This gym has potential, but it is very small and space to spread machinery around seems wasted. The floors are uneven and sometimes you can trip or twist your foot. Now I am stuck with a subscription where I can’t cancel until after 6 months has passed. Not sure what to do, I just want my money back.By 7Journal MTGY (2 weeks ago)Vasa as a gym is decent for the price, but DO NOT get involved with their personal training. My wife signed up for an initial consultation with 6 months of personal training, which she had 3 days to cancel and get out of the agreement for the personal training. She was told to come in at a certain time to meet with a manager to cancel, at that time the manager was not available, and by the time she was able to reach the manager for help it was past the cancellation period. Also, the expectation is that the customer accommodate the training staff for appointment times rather than them accommodating the customer. Her trainer became very limited in his availability due to his own competition schedule and was not helpful in helping my wife find another trainer. Finally, when she told them she did not want to continue past the 6 months they charged her for an additional session because she did not let them know 30 days in advance which she was never told was the expectation.By Brian DeCaro (a week ago)It’s been a long time since I felt good about going to the gym, it’s very overcrowded here so there’s no good parking, and a lot of the equipment I want to use I have to wait for. I always hold my breath if I need to go in the locker room because it smells horrible and the cleanliness overall at this location is questionable. The only benefit was that it was close to home. I was told there was a $25 cancellation fee, but it was in fact $72 to cancel my membership because of a locked price guarantee? Why would I need to pay for that to cancel my membership especially when I haven’t been there in 2 months and the prices have not changed since I started here. I’ve been a member since 2017 so I can genuinely say I should have just invested in equipment for at home or in a more clean, less crowded, more genuine local gym and that I do not recommend buying a membership here.By Devin Lee (a month ago)

Really like this location, it’s my late night go-to. Huge and tons of equipment. They are visibly cleaning constantly which is great. I deducted 1 star because the men’s locker room has smelled absolutely atrocious lately. They do mop nightly but the sweaty dirty smell still permeates the locker area. Sometimes I hold my breath. I noticed some certain lockers with the same locks on them 24/7 so maybe it’s something in those lockers? Wish they would cut the locks. Anyway, maybe if it starts smelling better I’ll go back to 5 stars. 😷By J M (4 weeks ago)I love that it’s 24/7. It’s always been clean in my experience and never so crowded I can’t get the equipment I want. But I really wish the treadmills would adjust for tall people. I have to stoop to reach the handles which isn’t ergonomic or effective. And it would be great if the TVs had captions turned on for accessibility. A good place to work out at any hour though and only $10/month.By Michelle Gebhart (2 months ago)+ Customer Service
+ Diversity of Workout Equipment
+ Clean
– 98% Machine
– Not EfficientThe dumbbell area was always packed and occupied (should tell you that they’re more important than having all the machine press stations). Great gym, but because of the lack of efficiency, was one of the worst pumps I’ve ever had.
By Aaron Sibs (4 months ago)The location in Aurora, CO is very spacious. The staff is approachable and helpful. The woman bathroom could use a little renovation, due the the fact that several lockers are are unable to close or lock. One of my favorite places to be, in the gym.By Kimistry Howard (7 months ago)My experience with the staff at this gym has been exceptional. The manager Jen helped me like I was family. I had an issue come up financially and she helped me way more than I was expecting. She was so compassionate and she has trained her staff the same. Fernando, Melany, Thomas, and Scott. Literally every interaction has been exceptional. I love this team and my gym 🙏💖By Kayla Nelson (3 months ago)

Car was broken into in their parking lot, they have no cameras for their customers and no security. I asked others and multiple people cancelled when I told them because they knew it was becoming a problem, and others had cancelled their membership specifically because of these events or it happened to them. I was there for my first day 3 day trial and won’t be paying for a membership if they can’t even bother to get better security to protect their paying members. Multiple employees mentioned it’s happened before so there’s no excuse not to start investing in some form of security. One security car circulating the lot is real simple.
This folks have low low customer service, the gym is there for us to built our self esteem not to have it tear down. If you say I’m not welcomed because I have a restraining order against me then you need to show it to me or else you’re violating my rights. How am I able to get a new membership if supposedly I’m not welcomed. No one ever made a report against me. The manager beck ask me to leave and wasn’t helpful, as well as the tall manager who is only respectful to those he chooses.
Awesome place, absolutely huge with a large variety of free weights and machines. They even have a basketball court and pool. Even though they were pretty busy, I didn’t have to wait very much at all, and its a sign it’s a good gym too. Customer service is absolutely excellent too, and they offer tons of classes and personal training sessions. Even with all these amenities, they offer quite a reasonable price!
I am new to Vasa, but the staff was so friendly that I signed up. The gym is very clean and I like the variety of machines to work out on. Unlike so many other gyms, these guys have a real swimming pool.
My favorite aspects of VASA are that it has SO many amenities… including a Hydro Massage which my back LOVES me for after a good workout. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m also looking forward to Light Therapy and maybe some tanning every once in a while. It’s all included in their mid-level membership for only $25! I also really love the guest pass addition to my membership, so I can take up to two friends with me when I go!
