- Reviews:Do not hire SML! We hired 2 people to help load and unload for our move and the crew damaged the elevator, walls, and door of our apartment building! I tried calling SML after 30 minutes of the move to cancel the crew and end the service and they refused! They said I had to pay for the 2 hours no matter what! So my options were basically stop the crew from doing further damage and send them home which still cost me the full amount for the 2 hours plus whatever damage costs my building is going to charge me, or have the movers continue to damage my stuff! I was told the only way to deal with damage is to file a claim which who knows if I will ever hear back! Now I may lose my safety deposit which is 1,000s of dollars because of the “professional” help I hired who couldn’t even figure out how to move a couch out of the front door without damaging my couch and the door. I was clear when I called that I wanted full service, meaning wanted packing as well. This guy (I won’t mention his name) even talked about doing inventory with an app, since I had a lot of books. All this led me to believe the quote was for a full service. Just to make sure, after giving me a quote I connected with him again to ask him if it included packing and didn’t get a straight answer. “The request will including Loading the items from the home to the truck disassembling of couches beds furniture and Unloading the truck for you at your new home with reassembling of your items and truck with fuel cost.” I guess a straight yes or no is not part of the answer. I finally got him to tell me it didn’t include packing. At this point I decided to seek elsewhere. I found out that this industry is very difficult to trust and very expensive; two companies talked bad about each other and told me their ratings on DOT which I looked up as well. So I decided to just go with Packrats (I’ve tried PODS and my experience wasn’t great). It wasn’t perfect (some of the local offices were not great, picking and dropping was good and drivers were awesome) but I paid what they told me I would.By Edgar Galdámez (in the last week)Do NOT use this company. We used them for our move from one state to another. There was supposed to be a crew doing the load up in one state and another crew to unload in the new state. Both crews were a no call, no show. When I called SML because the crews weren’t showing up, there were 45-70 minute wait times and no one within their offices knew what anyone else was doing with our account and we had to explain again over and over what the situation was. We ended up being charged by the apartment complex in the other state because a new crew couldn’t be sent out until almost 9pm the FOLLOWING night from when we were supposed to be moved out. And then THAT crew never showed up so we had to find our own crew. Getting the refund for the load was a nightmare of a process and anything towards the extra fees we were charged by the complex? That didn’t happen, wasn’t even an option. When we got to the new state, that crew no call no showed and same issue with getting someone from SML on the phone. Ended up having to wait another day to finally get a different crew out here and no one in the SML office knew what was going on every time we had to call again because there was no one coming. And same crazy wait times. Ended up having extra charges for the moving truck because we had it another day and we slept on the floor of our apartment because the mattress was in the back of the truck and we couldn’t get it out. I asked to speak to someone after the whole ordeal about the issues and never heard back. Do not use this company. Having worked for a moving company before, I know what a quality move is. This was not. I paid $1,134 to move a bed, dresser, couch, patio furniture and some boxes. My new box spring was never put in a bag (even though I was charged for it) and as a result it is soiled. The mattress is now dirty as well. My new couch was never put together, and the bottom of it is ripped and dirty as well as the cushions. My dresser now has scratches and is chipped on one side. The front door to my new apartment as scratches and chipped paint. I was charged for (4) 4 piece mirror cartons that were never used and I didn’t even have them move any mirrors. Edgar Ramirez’s crew took more time than they should have and were very unprofessional. I watched as they told each other they wouldn’t help each other while getting my couch out. Then after paying they rushed and got all my things into my new apartment in no time. I watched them bump into walls and drop things just because they were not paying attention and the other guys were too busy talking and messing around to warn or help. Almost 4 hours moving those items to the apartment complex right behind the complex I was moving out of. After the move I was asked to give a Google review as they watched before they left. Then asked if I was going to tip them. How unprofessional is that? I definitely would’ve tipped them if they took better care of my belongings and were more professional. Pretty disappointing having to add cleaning and repairing my furniture to my already stressful move. Definitely not using this company again.
We needed last minute movers and this company was responsive and quick. It took them 2 hours to move all our stuff from the storage to our new place. The two men were very respectful and worked fast. I do recommend booking with them. I paid almost twice as much for our last movers who took 5 hours and ruined a lot of our belongings. All My Sons & Storage I give 10/10 ⭐️
After having a bad experience in Arlington I went with a bigger company assuming that they would do a quality job. To start, I was to be the last move of the day to ensure I had enough time to grab my truck for my move to NC. A gentleman called the day before and I assured him I did not mean to be done late in the evening as I just needed to pick my truck up and told him around 1-2pm should be fine.
On Tuesday (the day of the move), I hadn’t heard from anyone by 2:45pm so I gave them a call. They let me know that the movers just finished up a job an hour away and would be at my place soon. Called again at 5:10pm asking where the movers were. Was then told that they were driving from Fort Worth to my apartment in Mansfield (different from the initial location) and would be there in soon. These movers finally show up at this point at 6:15pm.
At this point, I had already put some boxes and furniture in the truck and thought they would be able to reorganize and move it around as they saw fit. Instead, I really should’ve known better when these guys started to move boxes into the truck before big/heavy furniture as I have seen previously. I also provided blankets for them to use however they saw fit. They used some but not all that were provided.
The drive itself was long (about 16-18hours) and full of traffic. I understand boxes are going to shift and scratches may happen with a drive like this….but this is ridiculous. If someone had just communicated wrapping something more or going to pick up more blankets I would’ve done it. I have never had my boxes smashed like this either.
Note that even the movers that helped me unload said these guys did a bad job (All My Sons in Charolette).
It really pains me to leave this review. The movers themselves were really nice. With this being said, I do not recommend All My Sons in Fort Worth.
I had the best experience with the mover guys. Jorge Ramon was professional and quick. I had some stuff staying here, some going to the storage, and some to
my garage. I almost confused myself but he had it all down. I totally recommend this company. They made it convenient for me on every way possible. Thank you Jorge for making my move so much easier!
We used All My Sons Moving and Storage to move less than 5 miles from a one bedroom apartment to a 55+ home. It took 2 boys 4 1/4 hours to move 5 bookshelves, a small love seat, King size bedroom set that was already torn down. They also moved about 25 boxes. They charged me $103 for moving supplies of which I was never informed as well as over $150 for fuel. I paid $1088 for a very unprofessional job. One of the boys took a 20 minute bathroom break and the other was belching loudly without even saying excuse me. They damaged 3 items of which I do have photos and we weren’t compensated. On the bill, the $100 deposit was never applied or shown. I was able to get a $50 refund for the “20 minute bathroom break” but only after I called and complained. They don’t tell you about the 18% up charge on fuel, and that is 18% of the total cost of the move, not fuel! They failed to inform us (verbally) of all of these extra charges. The manager at the local office was rude and unprofessional. I asked him why he didn’t inform me of these extra charges prior as he led me to believe when talking on the phone prior to booking, that it was only $159 per hour with a minimum of 2 hours plus $159 for travel time, half hour to and from to give them leeway. I asked if there were any other charges and he said, “nope, that’s about it.” Imagine my shock when I got the remaining bill. I would not recommend this company EVER!
UPDATE: The corporate headquarters reached out to me and Bianca Garcia was extremely understanding, compassionate, and willing to help me find a resolution. I will update even further once it is completed, but I am very impressed with how she is following up with these issues. I am changing to a 3 star as of now due to her professionalism in handling my situation. Once it is completely closed I will update even further. Stay tuned.
