2 months agoSitting in the café now recovering from the state of the shop. I spoke to management a year ago about the state of the shop but this is far worse. Like a closing down sale with at least 100 empty shelves throughout the store. Dreadful. Updated June 2023…. Much better! Still gaps in veg but far better.a month agoIf you like a shop that isn’t crowded this is the place for you! Always quiet but high prices for food yet fuel is often cheaper than surrounding petrol stations3 months agoI don’t like it anymore no dvd, game or electronic aisle which I would spend my time while waiting for the shopping to be done yes there’s argos but it’s not the same those electronic screens and they don’t even do the catalogue anymore the kids are well I should say I’m gutted they would sit for hours quiet picking everything they wanted 😔 let’s say I’m disappointed with the store ☹☹☹a month agoIt’s been a fantastic visit any time in sainsbury I have made. The customer service is always very good, and the stuff is quality one at a very reasonable price.well done4 months agoI only visited the petrol station. And it had pumps, two cars filling up. And myself. Soon be joined by a fellow driving and Audi and because of where I’d parked be has to go around me and the slip into the middle ⛽ I thought he did rather well. They had E10 and Diesel. It costs a fortune. Staff in the shop was lovely and helpful and we laughed at my concentration on the myriad of chocolate bars one had to stand next to whilst queueing to pay. Tempting to say the least.

Nice and empty (of customers), so browsing not stressful. Good quality food…especially when reduced less than 50% due to Use By date. Soups are especially good value with quality own brand being 57p (April 2023).
Went to Argos inside to pick up an item for my daughters birthday. Decided to go and do a little shopping whilst I was there. My 5 year old son was zapped by a member of staff for making lots of noise….he loved it! My son asked him his name, and he said his name was Tony, but my 5 year old changed his name to Robert, much to Tony’s amusement. Then my 5 year old walked down the cereal aisle pointing out any boxes that were open or squashed to a lovely woman staff member, she then said she better walk down the aisle with him incase he found any more. Fab staff makes shopping so much easier with a loud, boisterous 5 year old.
Went to do a BIG shop as we would say, however, walked round the fruit & veg aisles & was disgusted at the quality of the produce, brown leaves on lettuce, carrots soft, strawberries mush on bottom of box, decided to purchase elsewhere which were fine, then went down the fresh meat aisle which was half empty, not a gripe just an expectation these days, however the spaces on the shelves where fresh meat had been was filthy with marks through leakage from the packaging, the whole shop was not a good experience. We are not complainers but did seek a manager to express our concerns but tge excuses were supply chain problems, logistic issues, staff issues.NOT ACCEPTABLE ,if you put product out to sell then make sure it is fit for sale.
Good Sainsburys store. Clean and well laid out. Great choice of produce. Friendly staff. Covered parking which is a real bonus on rainy days, and in the winter.
As far as supermarkets go this is definitely one of the better ones. Ample free parking, very spacious store and rarely feels busy. Self scan system is a breeze if you have a nectar card. In house Argos is a bonus. Good selection of home wares and clothing too and there’s an on site petrol station. Most parking is also undercover which is a bonus during inclement weather. The store has a good range of products and some interesting overseas ingredients. There is a small bakery section and fresh pizza which I think you can have baked in store. The frozen food selection is a little small given the size of the store. The store is in close proximity to the A19 so our 7 mile trip takes less than 10 minutes door to door. Nectar card is essential if you seek value for money although there is also an Aldi price match on many staple products. Thankfully the store doesn’t seem to attract any undesirables both inside and out.
