3 months agojust waited over 5 mins at the self checkout for someone to approve my age, staff oblivious to anything, clearly obvious the till needed attention. ended up walking out without my drink in the end2 months agoRidiculous, no convenience about this place what so ever… you’d be quicker going into a main supermarketa week agoSmall clean friendly staff.a year agoThe tills are a mess since they redesigned the store, there’s no separate queues for the manned or self service checkouts so there’s just one giant queue with the occasional person ignoring the confusing queue and cutting across the front of the store to use the self checkouts. No idea why they redesigned the till area, it was fine before now it’s just a confusing mess4 years agoIm type 1 diabetic and felt a hypo coming on so went into the shop to get something sweet, all i remember is a member a staff asking if was waiting for change from the till as i must of been stood there looking abit spaced out. Informing her i was diabetic she kindly told me to take a seat so i could bring my sugars back up and safely be on my way, thank you to this member of staff, i will be back to find out your name, show my appreciation and make your store manager knows of this situation and how you prevented it from getting worse

2 months agoSainsbury’s is Sainsbury’sNothing really to report but was an very confusing layout but got everything but baking paper had to go to Wilkos for it
Quite hard to review Sainsbury’s isn’t it but here it is it was the Sainsbury’s not too big, not too small, but a medium size stocks, one of everything and like I said above no baking parchment paper, so we had to go to Wilkos, but otherwise it was fine, you could get roughly everything you wanted. We were staying in a self catering Airbnb, so we only needed a little bit in the sufficed .
9 months agoSo I went to the shop in the morning like I always do, wanting to buy a monster energy drink as a part of a meal deal (Long day at work). The cashier ( lady wearing a mask ) was being very rude from the start. Telling me to back off from the till. She asked me for my ID which I had, but unfortunately it expired a couple weeks ago and I haven’t been able to go to my country to pick up a new one yet. Bare in mind I am 28 and clearly I do not look under 16 ! She proceed to look at it for about a minute and then refused to sell me a drink. I asked her if I can show her my rail card which states the age and it has a picture. She said no. I understand the rules, but this was honestly just straight rude. Maybe she should have work in military instead? It is a shame, because customer service has always been lovely there. Never had a problem before. If I had more time I would have ask the manager, but I was in a rush. Ruined my morning.a year agoLike most convenience stores…always expect convenience stores to set their own convenience pricing and Sainsbury’s are no exception to the rule and are renown for putting profit first.Avoid anything that has yellow reduction stickers on, as the chances are, the food is gone way past that phase that it is no longer fit for human consumption – I know, I have paid the heavy price for this in my own toilet.
I still haven’t forgot the fact that this store was closed for most of 2020…so much for their ‘local’ community spirit during the pandemic.
11 months agoTypical bits you’d expect in sainsburys, prices are a bit elevated and there’s an odd urine smell when entering this one. Also being later on they just leave restocking cages everywhere which is a bit rubbish too. The automated checkout were friendly though9 months agoThis is my favourite little supermarket in Chester! I probably come here once a week for snacks/lunch and it always has the loveliest staff and a good range of food for really affordable prices! I’d definitely recommend if you’re in Chester 🙂

Very good store who visit UK from other counties.
You will get everything you need.. even ATM is also there to get cash.
Someone said me you will get sim card as well.
I’ve been a regular shopper at this store for over twenty years but to be honest I’ve had enough. One cashier on the checkout with at least six in the queue. Several staff members chatting by the customer operated check outs. Not acceptable. No customer service at all. I had to go and ask why there wasn’t more checkouts open. Sorry to interrupt their conversation!!! Customer operated checkouts are immoral. Loss of jobs. Also these tills do not pay income tax or national insurance!!!
So good in this supermarket helpful friendly staff do clean and spotless .lots of ranges of food all good quality and fully stocked store definitely best supermarket around .
Availability in this shop is poor more cardboard on the shelf than products!! Very untidy shop with low standards Sainsbury’s used to be good but not anymore!! It’s maybe a reflection on the store manager maybe he has low standards.
There was a lack of choice I felt.
Noticed the pharmacy had gone, that’s a shame as its good to do all tasks under one roof.
