Lovely store. Easy to get around all clearly labelled and signed. Has disability access. Nice and helpful staff. Clean and always smelling fresh. Prices are often low and better with a club card. Always popping to the bakery to find all my little goodies.

I would like to compliment the lady on number 22 checkout, it was 15.05 and the lady’s name was Sharon. I am disabled and walk using a chutch, Sharon packed all my shopping and placed them in the trolley, she then said that she was going on her break and would help me out to my car and put my bags in there. I have never had such good customer service and would love to say a really big THANK YOU.

Did my shopping, paid at self service but receipt didn’t print. As I leave the security guard stops me and asks for my receipt, I explain and he says ‘stay’ like I’m some sort of dog and wanders off. After 15-20 seconds I leave as the guard has disappeared. I get about 30 feet into the car park and the security guard stops me, grabbing hold of my trolley and calling me a thief. He drags me back into the store then wanders off again. Meanwhile I go to self serve, speak to a member of staff and they print me a receipt as the till roll had run out. I approach the guard and show him my receipt, I tell him to search my trolley, but he just ducks his head apologizing! I complain to a manger called Morgan and send a complaint in as he says to do this. But first he blames the security company and only changes his stance when I explain that they’re hired by Tesco! Morgan says this will be raised as a complaint the next morning in a meeting with a call back promised the next day. So far, no call back, no contact from Tesco, no apology, no nothing! Shocking behaviour from the guard! No response from the store! Left feeling embarrassed and humiliated but the store won’t talk to me.

I shopped at midday a busy time. But I approached 3 female staff at the fridges to enquire where I could find a product. Only to be completely ignored after speaking to them. I then spotted a young man who started the conversation he went to the stock room to find the product. So polite, friendly & helpful. Thank you.

The gents toilets today, 1/7/23, were absolutely disgusting. The smell was like a council toilet that hadn’t been cleaned for years. 🤢

This is a large Tesco Extra in the slightly odd location off of Rover Way.

There is a very large car park, next to the Tesco petrol station.

Inside is a very spacious and clean supermarket with a cafe at the entrance.

Also contains a bulk buying section near the front with various deals or larger than usual products.

Shelves are well stocked throughout, usually has a large selection of reduced food also.

Good location for me. Plenty of car parking space even at busiest of times.

Good selection of items, but fresh fruit and vegetable section is quite poor for such a big store – you can get much better selection of fresh fruit and vegetables in a tiny store.

But the frozen section and everything else including clothes is great. Very spacious and comfortable place to shop.

When they have club card prices, you can get great deals.

Overall, always has been a good shopping experience at Tesco Pengam, Cardiff.

I want to say thank you to the lady called Shell on the mobile phone department. She helped me set up my new samsung phone earlier today as l have no idea when it comes to technology. l felt so anxious that l had to buy a new phone after my other Samsung which l had for 3 years decided not to work this morning and wouldn’t even turn on. The lady was so helpful and patient and helped me set it up. Thank you so much

Nice selection of ladies clothes mens very poor with poor size collection don’t see the point of so much space being used for bulk sales with so little on shelves did manage to find some items I required but when we arrived at tills the queues were ridiculous most tills unstaffed with self service causing issues when the couple Infront of us talking about leaving as they were not that close to being served and they had been waiting nearly an hour we left our trolley and went to Morrisons the couple on front also left I had not been for a while and won’t be going back for a lon time I don’t see there prices cost effective enough to warrant me wasting my time waiting to be served I am not saying there the only poor performing chain but I don’t wait as long in Waitrose and they do carry a better selection Morrisons is my preferred at present as they do appear to have less waiting time or could be there not as busy but there are more staff and greater selection and cleaner nicer displays I will note wife was a little disappointed as Tesco ladies selection is very good but not worth the wait we did look at Western avenue as a different tack but again few staff to customer and shop floor was all over the place so we gave up Waitrose was the preferred choice

  1. Visited the store and came to the checkout and the checkout girl must be having a bad day, no acknowledgement no smile, scanned items and moved them just by the scanner, seen that I was struggling because I was at the end of the counter, made no attempt to push items along or just place them a bit farther down the aisle, had to ask my partner to help me move them quickly or they would have piled up next to the scanner. Made us feel like we were a inconvenience to her. Yes we all have bad days but we cheer up and put a smiling face for the public, if you don’t like your job find another one, when we spend £50/70 twice weekly we expect a nice experience and least a hello. In future will do our shopping next door

  2. Nice Market to buy all the stuff in the life
    And the price is reasonable
Sometimes it offers the discount for the item that is near the due date

And I like to get the scanner by myself, because it’s interesting and I could check the items I want to buy whenever I’m not very sure if this item is my need or only I want

  3. Nice shop, But make sure you don’t bring your bikes to the car park, bunch of thugs sweep it daily basis looking for parked up electric bikes, batteries. If you own anything worth to them they will steal it. Funny I had my scooter stollen on day of my induction as employe. What a warm welcome to the new place of work.
Heads up , Tesco doesn’t take responsibility, you will come on 3.000£ bicycle, you gonna comeback walking with crime reference number.
    Take a walk
    If you drive
Don’t leave anything inside the car, they use spark plugs to silently break your window and take whatever they fancy. Stay safe.

  4. Horrendous.. The frozen food was stuck in the aisle waiting to be put in freezer and when I picked it up it was defrosted.
The freezers and fridges were leaking and dripping in my head.

Toilets I’ve seen better in a night club, with pee all over the floor and no loo roll.
    Service… Well what service.
Only one lady was lovely and that’s cause eventually I walked out and left the lit..
I’m only giving it a one cause there isn’t a no dtsr..
    Won’t be back

  5. m Reply

    Pharmacy very poor service.
Don’t go there if you need your prescription dispensed, it will take forever to be fulfilled and you might not get all your items so you will have to call back several times.

Don’t ask for head office customer service complaints number you will be given the wrong number by the duty manager.
