a year agoTop place in Portslade. Love it. Sells all the top brands of cider and other drinks. Sells top products at a reasonable price. Nice well trained staff. A well run store over lock down.a month agoUsually a good shop but I had a bad experience today. I’m 23 and have visible tattoos yet was IDed for an energy drink, minimum age 16. I look my age and just wanted a nice drink to get me through my late shift but was denied it as I didn’t bring ID. This jobsworth with no common sense ruined my day.2 months agoGreat Staff never had a bad experience here shop about once a week here. Best Tescos I’ve been in6 months agoBetter if you are not coming in the last minutes. The security guy was rude chasing me and threatening me if I’m not going to do my shopping before closing he going to ban me. He was without uniform in a hurry and he went out of the store at 10 pm. 14-02-23 very disappointed 🙁5 months agoStore rents land to passport machine. The machine says 10 tries for pic. Second pic it said green light to biometric scan. 8 more tries. So I try the others. All fail scan clearly leaving me 1 that passed for my money. No option to retrieve that pic though. Had to pay £10 again. This time all 10 pics failed the scan. So I left with passport pic which failed their scan for £20. Spoke to tesco customer service and she said sorry cant help you.I was robbed. Their punishment is I wont use Tesco again. Aldi. Lidyl. Sainsburys. Not Tesco or Asda. Meaning im financially punishing Tesco. My club card going in the bin.

2 months agoOne of the flagship grocery stores. An easy spot for daily needs.9 months agoStaff very friendly and very helpful. I am a taxi driver who did a very long trip and picked up a meal deal and wanted a coffee with it. A young lady with black hair was cleaning it so while I was waiting was able to have a very lovely conversation. When I made a coffee the shop had run out of sugar for the coffee machine and the lady had a look but couldn’t find any and she went out of her way to go to her staff room to get me some sugar for my coffee. Absolutely amazing service and can’t stress how grateful I am. A treasure to the shop!Your staff are very kind and made me fell very welcome. It made my day! Thank you
6 months agoStaff are very friendly especially the manager called mark who is one of the only people to actually interact with the customers and say a simple hello how are you? Gives the shop a more community feel11 months agoUPDATE Just reading through reviews from a few weeks ago, looks like the same woman who served meThis is my local Tesco and I come in quite often usually in the day. The morning staff are always very friendly and always nice to have a small chat with before work. However this evening, I was served by a very abrupt young girl who asked me for id on a monster drink, even with my tattoo and the fact that I look over 15, and I am probably older then her! Never ever had a problem here. I was then refused service and then refused to let me speak to the manager as apparently she was having her break. She then shouted at everyone in the queue she’s not serving people who are paying by card even though all the machines are being used. Absolutely appalling service and I think I know the manager who works in the morning who I will speak to. Will be having a ‘field day’ with this.
12 months agoSo sick of coming in in the evenings late at night to be told to use self service or leave when I only have card and then to top it off an elderly customer came to the till (obviously not able to use the machine well) she came round and shouted “Are you paying cash? THEN USE SELF SERVICE. Don’t know her name sadly but she has dark hair and quite young. However come in earlier that evening and the young lad who served me was amazing (he had a red top on)- he even let me use my card at the till!

Good prices,large parking lot,cafe inside, clean toilets. Never had to queue so long that I wanted to leave. I only wish the store would be open for longer on Sunday. During weekdays, at lunch time, is best to avoid it though as too many office workers come in and it’s a bit too busy
Great Tesco apart from no cold beers now. Handy as near my brothers house, watched Man City beat Arsenal last night. Had to cool the beers in his freezer. So no cold bottles of beer but have Arsenal bottled the league

Best experience I’ve ever had shopping, the cleanliness, atmosphere and beautiful architecture makes you feel like royalty. The employees are very helpful, especially lilly who made me feel like I was a reveered guest in her own home. Would give 6 stars If I could.
