    Store is fine.

Cafe is shocking. Zero urgency. No mention of horrendous wait times for food. Staff have no ability nor inclination to multitask. And no, I don’t want milk with the black Americano that I specifically ordered – maybe interact with or at least listen to your customers.

They can’t even bring cutlery out with the food you’ve waited over 20 minutes for. So you then have to wait even longer whilst they go back to collect it.

Sounds minor but not when you’re already so frustrated.

Big shout out to Chris Mynet- I recently lost my purse during a busy shift and Chris was very helpful and kind. Purse located! Genuine, kind man and Tesco should be proud to have him represent their company. Thank you Chris 🙂

Club card prices are a nonsense. The non-clubcard price is over-inflated. To have to remember to use it is annoying. It’s the main reason I stopped shopping at Tesco.

It’s okay but really nothing special. But I have never been here and seen it clean and tidy immediately outside, there’s always litter right around the store and in the immediate vicinity which brings the whole place down, staff and managers in Tesco must see this every day and simply ignore it. The shopping trolley at the side together with mountains of litter has been there for probably years now. Unbelievable and unacceptable! They also did away with recycling facilities that were in the car park before

Strange worker at the self service hoarding all the carrier bags instead of putting them next to each of the machines, insisting he escorts me back to my shopping to check that I scan it when I tried to go and pick one up from behind him. Don’t like having it implied I’m a shoplifter because they’ve bizarrely decided not to put any carrier bags next to each individual self service machine!

RACIST! RACIST! RACIST! I visited this store twice only. The first time I was at the self checkout and the fat old white man totally ignored me while he served other white customers. I was standing there like a lemon for 5 minutes until I git angry and confronted him, he told me to in a rude way to hold on and still served another white person who just came to the checkout. He did not serve me and I left unhappy. I felt the racism blatantly and I did nothing wrong because it was my first time there. The second time I noticed he did the exact same thing by ignoring the asian man, he was standing there for ages and calling for help and did not attend while he srrved othet white people. When it was my turn he did the same and I was again standing there calling for help until he finally noticed people were watching because I got angry then he came. If this behaviour happens again to me or any other race, this time I will bottle him. I detest him. He smells alot too.

Absolutely unfair what has happened to me today, I was accused of stealing because I placed the items which I have already brought and the employee is saying that I stole the items. The manager and the employee hasn’t apologised for what happened today.

  1. Tesco Extra is, as everyone knows, a mega-market. Sorry to say this was an average-market experience.

We rarely use this store as it is just too big. We came here on 17-Nov, hoping to get a good choice of their “Free-From” range – which we did thank you.

Parking was easy and access to the main store was via travelator from ground floor parking to the first floor main entrance. So far so good!

Due to its size, this store is not great for a quick shop and it took us about three quarters of an hour. There are Tesco Express stores competing with many others for a quick shop, but we would not have got what we wanted.

On our return, we initially tried to descend the stairs from first floor to ground floor. The stairwell only provided access to Saville Street, as it turned out that we could not take the stairs down to the car park at this side of the building… A rather strange design.

So… back up the stairs, to take the travelator back down. For some reason, the exit from the travelator to the car park which we used when we arrived, was blocked off on our return journey, with pedestrian guardrail and a number of people who were just seemingly sitting there wearing high viz coats.

So, we walked the full length of the travelator to enter the north end of the car park, to walk back to our car, on the south side. I felt like a cup of tea after all this walking… which reminds me…

When we arrived, we wanted a snack and a drink in the café, but the staircase from the first floor of the store was blocked off, with a bench! So we went up the travelator from first to second and had to walk all the way back from the east end of the store, to reach the café at the west end. And when we got there, there was no-one attending to the café. We waiting a minute, no-one arrived and so we went back to the travelator to head to the first floor to start our shop!

We filled a hand basket with high quality goods, with a selection of fresh fruit, vegetables and Gluten-free products and thanks for that. We may be tempted to try another store next time for more convenience and a cup of tea!

  2. Shop itself is fine.
Finding a trolley is a nightmare, almost everytime I come I have to wander back out of the store looking for a trolley around the car park.
They’ve also started fitting an automatic lock on the trolley wheels so that if you shop self service you have to wait for the security guy to come unlock your trolley before you can leave. I just want to shop and leave, what a joke.

  3. Shocking and worrying experience today at this branch. I received a very concerning treatment from one of the security guards and the manager. They both claim that their security system randomly locked the shopping cart I was using as I was on the way out towards the escalator, even though I paid and went through the security detector by the checkout prior with no issues. I accepted this bizzare explanation up to a degree but what I found most frustrating was the fact they both denied that the device the security guard was holding when he came to activate the cart also had the ability to stop my cart. The device had two buttons “LOCK” and “UNLOCK”. When I asked the security guard what the other button does he said “I don’t know” All I needed was for him to acknowledge was that the device had the ability to deactivate the cart from moving but both the manager and security guard refused to acknowledge this and claimed it was just a random stop by the system. when I asked the manager what the Lock button on the device the security guard was holding does, he also said “we don’t know” this was so frustrating, irritating and I think they were both very unprofessional. How can they claim not to know what the button of a device they operate on a daily basis does? I felt they were undermining my intelligence because I am black, which I found very insulting. Next time come up with a better explanation.. a random stopping system does not make any sense. I came to the conclusion that both the manager and security guard either didn’t know how the device worked or the security system was the most biased system that randomly stops black people. I researched the shopping cart system and the way it’s suppose to work is once a customer pays and goes through the security barriers by the checkout it automatically deactivates the cart from stopping on the way out. Sometimes it malfunctions but there is no where I have read that the security system randomly stops customers. The other way is for the security guard to manually stop the cart by using a remote device to stop customers from passing through the exit if they suspect shop lifting, which is what I believed happened. I have no issues if they wanted to check if I made a legitimate purchase, but for them to insult my intelligence was where I was irritated.. To the manager; come up with a better explanation next time, instead of a lame and unintelligent one. Smh

  4. The main part of Tesco for groceries is fine, though given the size of the shop I would have expected more options.

Clothing section, who sells clothes but has no fitting room! Must lose sooo much custom because of this.

  5. Short of trolleys. Self scan not available in the evening. No security detectors immediately after self scan checkout so you get all the way to the door before triggering an alarm when you’ve bought a cheap steak. Still at least they don’t turn off half the lights after 9pm.
