Love this store as staff are always friendly and there is lots of disabled access. My only issue is the cafe prices, I managed to buy enough food to make a chicken salad dinner and homemade Choc cake for 2 people with the cost of 2 drinks and a sandwich from the cafe. Think their prices are over the top, especially when most people are struggling right now.

I’ve shopped here for a while now but this morning I was treated like a thief!!! I was approached rudely by a African male security guard demanding to see my receipt then snatched it off me and passed it to a member of staff and was shouting how many were in my shopping bag he didn’t even apologise after just walked off!! The women who checked my receipt was having a casual phone call at the time ridiculous Very reluctant to shop here again after the way I was treated

Did some shopping in store then visited the canteen where I ordered breakfast. The manager Marie literally threw the plate of food down in front of me. The beans were stale and congealed, I asked about it when I next caught sight of her and she insisted they were fresh. Being black doesn’t mean I’m some starving person who does know the difference between fresh and old stale beans. £8.00 for a breakfast only to be treated like a dog. Won’t be going back. Visited Costa in Bulwell on Friday, staff are always pleasant and professional. Miserable unpleasant woman.

When to Tesco mobile to buy a new phone, I did find the costume focus was quite bad ! Not all bad just bad in places. I was serve by one Tesco member & she was ok ,but we were having problems with the internet so I had to step outside, but I still couldn’t get service so I went back in . But she had moved on to the next customer . I thought was bad ,so I were met with another member of staff ,& I found him rude ,& not customer focus ,& spoke to me so hash ,also he was chewing gum, not very professional I thought. He told me to leave my old phone with them ,& we sort ! But if you got a hour you can wait!! But it was the way he said it ,if you’re get me in this😐 But things got sorted in the end. But I think they should work on customer care more.

Certain cashiers are very attentive while others are down right ignorant. Recent experience was the cashier serving me asking questions of another cashier two tills away. Incredibly rude. Losing reasons to continue shopping at Tesco.

I parked at children’s bay because I hurt my back the day before my shopping. I also included the Tesco receipt showing that I bought two boxes of painkiller. Still Horizon rejected my appeal. I will never go back to Tesco any more, as they are not kind and considerate to their customers even with exceptional circumstances.

  1. I have so many moans about this Tesco Extra which has gone downhill in the past few years:
My main complaint is the that the quality and freshness of the produce such as vegetables in this store is usually extremely poor. On a daily basis, it’s a struggle to try and find items that do not look far past their best. I can go in Hucknall Tesco and find fruit and veg that looks fresh and green and not brown and withered but 3 miles away and there is clearly some sort of storage problem with the Top Valley Tesco, with bags of salad leaves and other greens like spinach, often looking wet, soggy. and old despite being in date.
Items in the reduced section are sometimes mouldy and look inedible – such a shame that so much food is wasted by letting it get to this stage.
Don’t go to this store with any hopes of buying cosmetics after about 3 pm, as it’s highly likely that the entire aisle will be shuttered down. Tesco should Employ more staff if that’s what it takes to have a fully functioning store.
The Scan as you Shop pay area is very often closed at busy times, so you have to queue to pay at the self scanning section – what’s the point? The scanners themselves are super slow, compared to other Tescos in the area.
On a few occasions, I’ve found out of date items on the shelves, including an entire metal rack full of eggs – what a waste.
The only good thing I have to say is that the staff, who always seem to be run off their feet, are friendly and helpful.

  2. Been wanting to try the cafe for a while, food was lovely and had a delicious pot of tea. The perfect finish after a shop, talk of that, they normally have everything you want but the friendly staff will always help if you can’t spot it. Security can be mean and won’t let us park our scooters inside and that’s why I prefer bullwell although he is a nice guy and is only doing his job. Thank you guys

  3. I would like to say an extra special thank you to Lisa who without doubt is a truly special lady you devote so much time to helping our community and thank you so much for all the support you have given our staff and patients at Nottingham’s major trauma unit there is so much we couldn’t of done without your help and support it is greatly appreciated thank you once again xx

  4. Just been to this Tesco queues of people waiting to be served and hardly any staff.?? Its absolutely ridiculous.
I thought the main aim of a shop is to take money?
Saying that the staff that are in this Tesco are always the most helpful smiley staff that you can find anywhere.
