The Cost of Hand Car Washes in the US

Here is a table of the average cost of hand car washes in the US by size of car:

Size of Car Basic Wash Comprehensive Wash
Small car $15 – $25 $25 – $35
Medium car $20 – $35 $35 – $45
Large car $25 – $50 $50 – $60

As you can see, the cost of a hand car wash can vary depending on the size of your car and the level of detail you want. However, the table provides a good starting point for estimating the cost of a hand car wash in your area. Here are some additional factors that can affect the cost of a hand car wash:

  • The location of the car wash: Car washes in urban areas will typically cost more than car washes in rural areas.
  • The time of day you get your car washed: Car washes are typically more expensive during peak hours, such as weekends and evenings.

If you are looking for a more affordable option, you can consider doing a self-service car wash. Self-service car washes typically cost around $5 – $10, and you can wash your car as often as you like. However, self-service car washes can be time-consuming, and you may not get the same level of detail as you would with a hand car wash.

Ultimately, the best way to find out the cost of a hand car wash in your area is to call around to different car washes and get quotes. You can also use online resources, such as Yelp or Google Maps, to compare prices.

This people don’t apply enough tire shine/armorall for more than 4 years(comparing to the other locations where they do apply the tire shine)also they speed up the conveyer so they can clean more cars in less times, vacuum cleaners normally are useless/ no suction…I have the Unlimited Shine membership in my 2 cars for over 8 years.

We had to pull over here be to change our oil, it had spilled all over the engine and we needed to wash it out. The employees were so nice and helped us by letting us use a pressure washer to wash it off. Saved the day!

SS is not the best car wash as far as the car getting cleaned your wheels and tires are a total miss and will not get bird poo off 100% it always leaves a little ! But the free vacuum is nice if you need to use it a long time and SS is consistent there all the same anywhere! Oh yeah the wash club is a good deal cause there is SS in a a lot of locations in pa,nj ! I did have it for like a year it’s great in winter cause you can wash it everyday when it’s messy snow days..

Overall, a quick decent wash. I pay for the monthly premium wash, and the hot wax tripple foam is worth the green. The included vacuums are a nice touch.

The only issues I have with them are the “drying” systems. There is always, what I would tag as excessive amounts of water and soap, left on the car.

I’m on the monthly plan. The carwash is good but it would be nice if the guy in front soaped your wheels. I haven’t had anyone soap the wheels in months.
The vacuums are fantastic though and there are plenty available. They are free too. They also have a free mat beater. It’s a good value for your money as long as you use it. Definitely can’t beat it in the winter.
Gotta keep that salt off your car.

The automated car wash is an antique piece of junk. I can’t remember when the roller brush that is supposed to clean the front, back, and top of your car actually worked. The blow dryer hasn’t worked since at least November of 2022. Maybe even before that. The second last time I used it, it stopped pushing me right near the end. I had to quick get out of the way of the car behind me. So, if you want your car to be all wet and dry with lots of spots, this is the car wash for you. I am done with this place. There must be a better car wash in Bethlehem.

The wash was good despite the dryer not working, car dries fast when driving. The bad part was the vacuums. There was no sign or notice that any didn’t work. First vacuum we tried turned “on” but there was no suction just noise. Didn’t give coins back.
Second try there was nothing just ate our coins.
Wasn’t gonna give it a third try. Money down the drain. Maybe try another place if you want to wash and vacuum at the same time.

Here’s a pic of my rims after using the premium wash. A garden hose would have done better.

I didn’t even wait to leave before I had to write this terrible review!

    1. One out of the two change machines is broken. The other once would now accept a perfectly fine $10 bill.
    2. When I went to put my first quarter in. It got stuck.
    3. I tried another bay and clicked it to presoak setting. Nothing came out at all!
    4. Set it high pressure soap. It shot it out in a stream. Not fanned out so it covered the car because the spray gun was missing its spray head.
    5. I decided to click the setting to wheel cleaner. I waited a good 30 seconds and only a low power stream on water came out. Never turning into wheel wash.

***This is the first and absolutely the last time I will ever come here!

^^^Rudy, put your helmet on and get yourself into the game!!!

The car wash has changed hands. It’s now called Charrito Hand Car Wash.
After five washes, your sixth one is free. $8 + $2 if you want your tires shined.

  1. Fairly decent automated car wash. Purchased the $14 Supreme wash and it did pretty good job getting rid of all pollen, bugs, bird dropping, and other dirt but not perfect. Also did a far superior job cleaning the rims than Rudy’s but still less than desirable. As others have noted the free vacuums a major plus.

Weather was beautiful today when I visited so there was a massive line actually backing up onto Airport Rd. So an extremely long wait to make it through the line.

  2. Nice little automatic car wash. The vacuums suck though, and not in the way you’d want them to. Like it doesn’t matter if they’re free, they literally do nothing lol

  3. Great Car Wash value. Sign up for the monthly charge and you can wash your car as many times as you like and free vacuums., if you feel as though you want to run threw three more times in the same day it’s okay. 🤣🤣🤣 really!!

  4. They keep the equipment in tip-top shape and do not skimp on the soap and wax. They could, however, have a better rinse. My truck still has a bunch of soap left in the hood accents, and it gets blown over the hood and dries leaving streaks of soap on the hood. The under carriage wash doesn’t stay on quite long enough to get the very back.

  5. The line was CRAZY long. I figured it would be busy on a nice Saturday. But its one car bay and there is quite literally NO WAY OUT once you pull in to their driveway. It is literally a trap. Especially if people are also pulling in as you pull in. If you go at a peak time on a nice day, plan an additional +20 minute delay into your errands or commitments.

The wash itself, and the staff were fine. No issues there. Its mainly the set up and everyone (customers) in line thinking they are the only ones who absolutely MUST get in and out as quickly, trying to cut in line and whip your tires around like it will make anything move quicker… as if their pagers to get to surgery went off. But, hey there guy, in your Ford F150 with your political bumper stickers and hemi engine, chill the eff out. The little elderly lady fumbling her 15 $1 bills is doing the best she can.
