A Comprehensive Guide to Using a Self-Service Car Wash
Using a self-service car wash can be a simple and cost-effective way to clean your vehicle. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to use a self-service car wash:
- Locate a Self-Service Car Wash: Use search engines or apps to find a nearby self-service car wash station.
- Prepare Your Vehicle: Remove any personal belongings, trash, or loose objects from the car’s exterior.
- Choose Your Service: Most self-service car washes offer different cleaning options, like soap, rinse, wax, etc. You may need to insert coins, bills, or a credit/debit card to select the desired service.
- Pre-Rinse: Before applying soap, use the high-pressure rinse to remove loose dirt and debris.
- Apply Soap: Select the soap option and use the wand to spray your car. Start from the top and work your way down, covering all areas.
- Scrub if Necessary: Some stations provide a foam brush. You can scrub your car to remove stubborn dirt. Be gentle to avoid scratching your car’s paint.
- Rinse: After scrubbing, choose the rinse option to wash away the soap. Again, start from the top and work your way down.
- Wax (Optional): Some self-service car washes offer a wax option. Apply this if you want a protective coating on your vehicle.
- Dry Your Vehicle: Use the provided air dryer or a microfiber towel to dry your car. Drying by hand can prevent water spots.
- Vacuum Interior (Optional): Some locations have vacuum stations to clean your car’s interior. Insert coins or pay as required.
- Inspect Your Vehicle: Do a final walk-around to ensure all areas are clean and to your satisfaction.
- Follow Safety Guidelines: Always adhere to the instructions and warnings provided at the car wash station. Wear appropriate clothing, and be mindful of slippery floors.
- Leave the Bay Clean: If there’s a trash can, dispose of any garbage. Put away any provided tools like brushes back where they belong.
- Exit Promptly: Be mindful of others waiting and exit the wash bay in a timely manner.
Remember, every self-service car wash might have slightly different equipment and procedures, so take a moment to read any posted instructions or ask for assistance if needed. Self-service car washes are typically open 24/7 and can be a convenient way to maintain your car’s appearance.

The guys that work here are the best. The gas station is the only one I know of that you can still get full service. The car wash is so awesome, and the hand drying at the end, wow, is all my kids can ever think to say.By Josh and Anna HUNTERS4EVER (4 months ago)The indoor self-wash bays are AWFUL! At least two of them are never open (might be three now) and the coin-op machines look like they haven’t been updated since the 80s! One was broken into the last time (and literally THE. LAST. TIME. because I’m never going back) I was there and when I switched bays, the machine wasn’t recognizing that I put money in and wasn’t returning it. I had to go into the store and ask for a refund! Also, the line for the automatic wash often blocks one of the doors for the self-wash bays.By Jack McHue (5 months ago)Check out these before and after photos!By Tom Jacobson (2 months ago)Self wash stations are in need of repair. The machines get jammed and quarters get stuck. It’s been this way for at least a year. I had to change wash bays and still gave up putting quarters in as my wash time was ticking down before I could get the machine to take all my money. The person next to me moved their car to my wash bay after I left for the same reason. Time to look elsewhere, I’m tired of having to go into the office of teenagers hanging out to ask for help.By Lee Katzmarek (2 years ago)Small town care here , but again that type of perfect care is rare these days …. so enjoy any time you need of their servicesBy Paul Frederick (6 months ago)

It did not end up cleaning the dirt or bugs from the very front or very rear of my car. I will have to try again to see if this is just a fluke.
I used the wash on the very left and I chose the $8 wash.
By Aaron Cadayong (in the last week)It barely cleaned my car still a ton of dirt and stuff on it didn’t really clean anything and the vacuum only lasts like a minute only able to get driver floor done that’s it.By Cameren Christensen (4 months ago)Haven’t had issues with this place until last week on Wednesday (19May). Went through and the wash tore my wiper blade off and caused damage to the wiper arm. Called the number and talked to Lonnie immediately following and was told they aren’t liable for any damage. He mentioned he was going to text me for some free washes of the highest one by days end and never did. Almost a week later and I haven’t heard from him and left a message; so I figured I’d let the public know. Place was fine until I had this happen and am disappointed in the lack of customer service. I get this might be a side gig that brings passive income, but you must have some sort of insurance coverage for this kind of thing before even being able to own a car wash. See photosBy Aaron Berry (2 years ago)All the washer areas are slightly different. The price is good especially when you buy in a bundle! The difference in washers is actually pretty good meaning you can kind of select if you need a more gentle wash or not. The very last stall you can wash your car yourself! My kiddos love it too especially the “rainbow” soap.By Kaitlyn Walsh (a year ago)Follow-up after three years of excellent service. This is the best tech for a self serve wash in town. They are always maintaining and trying to keep it all top notch. All tech breaks at times but they regularly do a deep refurbish to keep the systems working.
You can buy a single wash or by the month which is a great option.By Melvin Frank (a year ago)

Interesting to see the 1 star reviews referring people to woodys. These people only have 1 review posted on google. Either employees or something similar. Fakes who want to try to ruin a small business over rivalry.
Watch out Woody’s. There’s a new wash in town and it does a great job. I’ve had wash passes at many car washes but at 4 seasons it comes out the cleanest, driest, and spot free out of any on the others. The guys spraying do a great job. They take their time to get everything. My wheels come out sparkling after thanks to the wheel brushes. I’m meticulous and no wash is perfect for me but it’s my only choice in the winter and 4 seasons has me won. Unlimited washes for $30 a month. You can’t beat that at a high end wash.
It’s nice to not have to get out of my vehicle.
Can’t say I like the attendant there. Not that there’s anything wrong with them but I just feel that handing my card to someone when the reader is right there in front of me is silly. And I don’t really want to talk to someone I just want my car washed.
Another thing is there’s a sign that says not to go there if your car is over 7 years old or 100k miles. Sounds like I should find somewhere else to go in town.
A great place to wash your car, clean out your car, and throw trash away. Zips has vacuums constantly running and on site with garbages open to the public that they change every few hours. I’ve never had a bad experience with any of their employees or their services. However, I must warn that they get busy fast!! Everything there is free to the public except their car wash. If you’ve never been I’d suggest going!!
The system does a great job cleaning the car exterior. Staff is there to guide you into the wash bay. Vacuums are free and work very well!
The membership is no longer worth the money…
The crew no longer uses brushes to get bugs off the windshield. Soaps run out and sit empty for days at a time. (Asked an employee and he said I must’ve downgraded my membership, the problem isn’t them, it’s me… Not true)
Spinner brushes often not calibrated with sensors putting extreme pressure on mirrors. Dryer has weakened and no longer drys the car evenly, and lately have been experiencing water spots, likely due to water softener issue.
Customer service is not good. I had to call 10 different times over 3 days due to their customer service number not having any available representatives..
Time to try a competitor across the freeway!
