The shop looks neat and has a nice vibe. I had a total of six bookings here. The first three visits the service and haircuts were excellent! I got a text a few hours before my fourth booking that all bookings for the day are cancelled. Which is okay, things come up and cancellations happen. On the fifth visit, the person who was supposed to give me a haircut was over 15 minutes late. It didn’t bother me at the time and I didn’t complain at all. However, a disappointing misunderstanding occurred on my sixth visit explained as follows.
At 10 am I booked through the app an appointment for 2 pm. Immediately afterwards I realised that I cannot make it at 2 pm so I called straight after (at 10:10 am) and asked if I can change it to 2:30 pm. The person on the phone asked me to change it through the app. I said I can’t change it as the app wouldn’t let me. Then, they said that they’ll change it for me. (Later they said that they never said that, but that’s okay. We’ll put it down to miscommunication or maybe I just misheard on the phone). Anyway, I thought it has been changed to 2:30 pm.
I showed up at 2:35 pm and I was told I have been charged for my 2 pm booking and the person who was going to give me a haircut has left for dinner. I asked if I can take the next available slot but they said that I’ll be charged again for a new appointment in addition to the 2 pm one. I was given the number of the person who was going to cut my hair to try and work something out. I explained the misunderstanding and asked if I can take the next slot without getting charged for the “no show” appointment since I called at 10 am to try and change it before the misunderstanding occurred. The person on the phone then got extremely confrontational about how this was all my mistake and refused to cancel the charge which would mean I’ll pay twice for one haircut. At the end of the difficult phone call, they said there’s a slot later in the day “Do you want it or not?”. To which I replied no thanks and ended the call. I wasn’t going to get a haircut from a person who was just extremely confrontational at me on the phone.
In the end, they cancelled my booking on one occasion and they were 15+ mins late on another occasion. I never complained and booked with them again. On the last occasion when I called to change my booking only 10 minutes after I made it through the app, a misunderstanding occurred which they charged me for it, got confrontational, and refused to work something out.
If you want a haircut by passionate barbers who truly care about you and the quality of their work this is the best barbershop you could visit.
I’ve been visiting Danny’s for over 4 years now and I’m still always impressed by the attention to detail and the high standards the shop and barbers set themselves.
