Went to Hall road this morning and Tracey (lovely blonde hair lady with glasses) was AMAZING! So helpful, nothing was too much trouble. She is a credit to Tescos and a staff member to most certainly keep. Thank you Tracey

Tried using the cafe at 3pm on a saturday, tried ordering 3 meals and was informed they didnt have any of them in stock so we sat down with our drinks which we just purchased from tesco to think about another order and the staff came straight over and said “you cant eat or drink in here unless you bought it from the cafe” to which i replied “we did just try to buy food but you have nothing” we were asked to leave , ridiculous attitude by tesco, the cafe was empty aswell, we were doing no harm to anyone. Asda dont behave like this

Ordered a breakfast in the cafe at 11.14 am, at 11.58 I asked the lady on the till how much longer it would be as I had now been waiting almost 45 minutes. The lady on the till said, quite rude and abrupt, ” it couldn’t of been 45 minutes”. I checked the receipt and told her it was definitely 45 minutes, again I was met with an attitude informing me they must of lost the order and I can either carry on waiting or I’d could have a refund! I decided against a refund as now I was concerned with what “eventually”might be served up. The lack of response to this review rubber stamps how poorly this store considers customer relations. I won’t be returning.

This is the usual Tesco with excellent parking and access. There is the normal very good variety of quality products with friendly helpful staff.

Pumps are always filthy, I can’t remember a time when I came to fuel my car when I didn’t have petrol or diesel all over my hands. I don’t think they clean their pumps at all!

  1. Great Tesco, has everything you need with lots of product selection. The cafe was very good, we were extremely happy without vegetarian burgers which had lots of flavour, in fact they were a lot better then we were expecting. Good Tesco right by the train station.

  2. Tesco Extra also caters to tech-savvy shoppers by offering online shopping and home delivery services. This option allows customers to shop from the comfort of their homes and have their groceries delivered to their doorstep, saving time and effort.

However, like any large retailer, Tesco Extra can experience busy periods, leading to potential congestion and longer checkout queues. It is advisable to plan visits accordingly or consider utilizing the online shopping option during peak times.

In summary, Tesco Extra stands out as a comprehensive retail destination that provides customers with a wide range of products, convenience, and quality. Its extensive selection, from groceries to electronics, coupled with the store’s organized layout and commitment to customer service, make it a preferred choice for many. Tesco Extra’s focus on convenience, value, and customer satisfaction solidifies its position as a go-to destination for all shopping needs.

  3. Shambolic – none of the stuff that should work does and the store is in very poor condition… Want to scan as you shop? Sorry, the handsets don’t unlock and the staff aren’t equipped with the knowledge to fix them. Want a trolley or basket to put your shopping in? Tough. They’re all strewn across the car park and you can’t get them up to the store because the travellator is broken. Don’t expect any help from customer service because they’re powerless to do anything and won’t validate your parking when you decide to cut your losses and try a better supermarket “because you haven’t spent anything”. Avoid.

  4. For the third time in recent weeks today, there were no trolleys available in the store. Some were abandoned around the carpark but the travelator was broken so there was no way to get them up. However, the travelator has been working on past visits and still there have been no trolleys. I asked at customer services if any were on the way, and I was told that they were being taken faster than they could collect them and I just had to wait. After some waiting I realised I did not have time to stand around for much longer, so I asked if I could have a parking voucher so I could go to another supermarket, but they couldn’t/wouldn’t give me one without spending anything – even though I couldn’t do my shop without a trolley. It’s a handy way to hold customers hostage despite terrible service.

When I eventually got a trolley, the self-scan handsets were not working and would not release. A staff member assured me that they were working, but when he came to help he also couldn’t work out the problem and just said I would have to go through a till.

The rest of the shop was in its usual state of chaos, with missing products, empty shelves and a surprisingly poor selection for such a big store. The toilets were filthy, with no toilet paper, broken dispensers and broken door locks.

This store needs some serious support or investment from head office, because standards and equipment are in a horrific state. I will be avoiding it in future – these problems are not unfortunate one-offs, but have now become the norm for this store.

  5. Got all I wanted. The layout is easy to follow with a wide selection of goods. I prefer to use the self service tills as I am a little slow to pack and this avoids holding up the queues. The store is clean and bright, staff friendly and helpfull.
