  1. This is where I do my every week food shop. There is more than enough parking which is under the store. This is a large supermarket with a clothing range, fishmongers and bakers and an Argos. There’s a lift to the second floor if the escalator doesn’t work

  2. Not many manned tills remaining as there’s a push for self service or scan as you shop, so in peak times the queues can build up if you want to go through a regular till. The store is fairly well stocked though I’ve noticed a few times availability of goods in the bakery is low after lunchtime at the weekends. Produce is good quality and it’s handy having Argos (and Specsavers) in store.

  3. Decided to pop into the cafe after shopping. What a mistake. The food was absolutely dreadful. Normally I’d complain if given such small portions but the food was so substandard I was grateful for there not being much of it. It was tolerable once drowned in condiments so I ate the pitiful offering.
The staff had been very pleasant otherwise I’d have said something there & then. Rather than embarrass them I’ll simply avoid the cafe & be brutally honest if anyone asks for my opinion of it.

  4. Power-hungry staff need to understand there are easier places for disabled people to shop in Ely where they won’t be barked at to use a different self-service area when the store is empty and there are plenty of empty tills available in all areas and no earthly chance of a queue building up. Shouting “my lovely” at a distance before issuing commands to the elderly and disabled to repack their groceries and move to another area doesn’t disguise the fact that staff are rude and inconsiderate.

  5. Walked in minding my own business, only to get a cold drink from the second I walked in the door staff followed me round the whole shop, made me feel very uncomfortable, very unprofessional and clearly very poorly trained staff. Will not shop here again
