For a local store, its ideal for quick food on the go however, I spent 30 minutes trying to locate sandwiches, pie&pasties Etc. Why not put one chiller shelf with these items in one place and at eye level.

Not a bad little shop. However the staff sometimes do let it down. The younger staff are more interested in walking about at the back of the store chatting on their headsets about whatever they got up to last night whilst people wait patiently at the self service tills to be attended to!!!!!! Edit as of 21/08/23 the prices have gone through the roof at this place. Examples, four pack of macaines frozen jacket potato’s £4.55 from here or go to the local corner shop 12 doors away and the same product is £3.69. Theres loads more that are just far to expensive at this shop compared to local corner shops and the tesco express around the corner. Save money go elsewhere

I rated this Sainsbury’s average – it’s not particularly cheap, and it’s obviously milking the habit of students snacking during the day and evening. Personally I would recommend trying to withhold your cravings and find somewhere cheaper, but it isn’t the worse shop in the world, just a bit pricey. It also had a food bank (wonderful idea although not sure how successful it is when 90% of their customers are broke students), extra security guards and an ATM. Overall it’s average.

7am, Xmas eve, trying to get caffeine for the day after working late, No staff on tills, or in majority of store, as usual. Manager and staff chatting on first aisle. Three customers asking consecutively for service at checkout. ID’d for energy drink at 29 years old, with only binbags, washing tabs, muffins and a coffee as additional items in basket. There was no apology for waiting, or for having to track down a staff member for assistance. The manager asked for ID. When I said I didn’t have one on me given that it’s 7am and I’m 29, she repeated “challenge 25, challenge 25”, before taking the drinks and walking away to chat again to the other member of staff while I was mid sentence. I don’t know whether there was some assumptions made based on my appearance that meant I was treated rudely, where the men who came before at least had an apology for waiting, and well wishing for the new year. Either way, having been a supervisor in a supermarket before, this wouldn’t have been acceptable in my old store – regardless of appearance. You don’t pick and choose who you treat well. while I appreciate the need to be thorough with IDs, the manner in which I was spoken to, as if I was there to try and skive Monster and ruin their delivery, quite frankly, has left me not wanting to return. Managers should lead by example when it comes to customer service. This one seemed more concerned with their morning social on aisle 1, and making sure the Old Timers left with a smile, than anything or anyone else. I’d go as far as to say, she could do with watching how her younger staff brilliantly handle customers as a refresher on the basics of customer service.

  1. Sainsbury’s have the best and largest selection of baby products, toddlers, and baby food out of all the supermarkets. Their adult and childrens clothing is really good quality. Their habitat home range is modern and of very good quality too.

  2. Prices and range of products in the foodhall are excellent. Love the clothes shop with something for the whole family. The restaurant has a really good selection of hot and cold foods. Only drawback is the disabled toilet on the ground floor which always seems unpleasant and lacking on attention.

  3. High prices for the same quality as Tesco or Morrisons. Seems to be full of parents with children called Hugo or Jemima. I personally wouldn’t shop here through choice, was just doing a favour for a neighbour.

  4. They bake donuts fresh! And after a thorough price comparison with Aldi and Asda, came out the cheapest for a local shop. Excellent store made pizza. Vegetable section was a little bare.
