3 months agoPoor service, Slow & Rude + disrespectful staff with no courtesy or manners & at self service i quote “got to check your bag so your not nicking” yet others weren’t checked that shows discriminatory profiling ….. Will NEVER shop here again4 years agoDreadful shop, shelves are always empty, the staff are very unhelpful and all stand around chatting. The large security guard is very rude and stares at you, made me very uncomfortable3 months agoPrices constantly wrong on the labels, take stuff to the till and they scan at a completely different price of what is advertised.11 months agoThis place was convenient for me to drop by to get things I needed for the day ,or whatever I needed for my very recent trip to Newport,so I frequented there during my stay !! But, some employees there were not very friendly at all !! Although I saw she was very nice to some another customer( an old lady ). She was looking like upset at me & didn’t wanna help me at all ! Lol. She didn’t even smile back when I smiled at her 1st ! I smile all the time for living in L.A.for too long maybe !! ? Lol. Shame that she was a pretty girl. When I was at her age ,I was told to smile more often by Americans ,so maybe it’s her age ? Lol. She was from middle eastern ,I believe because of her head covering . When I was leaving after paying I said ” Thank you ” as always I do ,but she remained silent !! Lol. Anyway ,she made me feel very unwelcome there ! I really liked this store & Sainsbury locals ( I visited them in Cardiff & London at Paddingtonstation, too ! ), so it was a let down ! Not just her ,there was another male worker was like that ,too. Others were nice !3 weeks agoQuick collection for Argos click and collect
Sainsbury’s in Newport: Do’s and Don’ts Every Shopper Should Know
When shopping at Sainsbury’s, there are certain rules that customers should be aware of to ensure a smooth and enjoyable shopping experience. These rules help maintain a safe and comfortable environment for both customers and staff, as well as promoting fair and respectful practices. It is important to familiarize yourself with these rules to ensure you are able to shop with ease and avoid any potential issues.
- Respect social distancing guidelines: In order to maintain a safe environment, it is important to keep a safe distance from other shoppers and staff. Sainsbury’s has implemented clear markers and signs throughout the store to help customers maintain the recommended distance of 2 meters (6 feet).
- Wear a face covering: To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, it is now mandatory in the UK to wear a face covering when shopping in stores. This includes Sainsbury’s, so make sure to have your face covering on before entering the store.
- Follow store capacity limits: Sainsbury’s may have reduced the number of customers allowed in the store at one time to ensure social distancing can be maintained. If the store has reached its capacity, you may need to wait outside until a spot becomes available.
- Use contactless payment methods: Sainsbury’s encourages customers to use contactless payment methods wherever possible to minimize the risk of spreading germs through cash handling. Contactless card payments and mobile payment apps are recommended.
- Return unwanted items within a reasonable time: If you need to return an item for any reason, it is important to do so within a reasonable timeframe. Sainsbury’s typically allows returns within 30 days, but it is advised to check their specific return policy for any exceptions or changes.
While these are some of the key rules to keep in mind, it is always a good idea to be respectful and considerate of others while shopping. This includes keeping noise levels down, not blocking aisles or entrances, and following any additional instructions or guidelines provided by Sainsbury’s staff. By adhering to the rules and being mindful of others, shopping at Sainsbury’s can be a positive experience for everyone involved.

Best customer service I ever experienced in the Newport store today. I was cueing at the tills leaning over my walker as my back & hip were playing up and I was in quite a bit of pain, but trying to put a brave face on. The lady (manager) who overlooked the tills came over and ask me quietly if I was ok and if I wanted any help. First I felt a bit embarrassed, but she was so lovely and discreet about the whole thing. We went to the self checkout where another lady scanned & packed my shopping and another one who carried my bags to the car. All 3 ladies made me feel completely at ease, safe and not a bother at all. So a big thank you to all 3 of those angels who made my day so much easier and reminded me there is still kindness out there.
Coffee shop very poor.. only res . Hot chocolate and very little in way of cakes. Given they have huge selection on the shop. They need to buck up.their ideas as far as refreshments.
Lovely big store fully stocked and friendly staff. Wide range of products. Easy to get to, easy big car park. Will be visiting again here very soon!
Excellent Sainsburys. No surprises, just the standard stuff, so it is what it says on the sign. Bakery is well stocked during the day. Nice little cafe, too…
Was just a quick shop today, and it was easy to move around the store. However, one staff member was extremely rude and told us to hurry up as it was almost 4 pm. However, no tannoys went off to state it was close to closing time!!
