a month agoFantastic! I can not say enough great things about Jessica and her team. Jessica was wonderful to work with. She is very knowledgeable and worked hard to make sure our needs were met and communicated with us at every step of the way. She was kind, but above all she respected us when we bought the house and again when we sold it.3 months agoI would like to take a moment to express my appreciation for Wendy Daniels, a real estate agent and property manager who has been helping me with my investment property in Augusta for over a year now. Thank you Katie.4 months agoSonia was absolutely fantastic and extremely friendly. Within 2 days she felt like part of the family and was in constant communication with us about houses and the best deals. In the end she helped us find the perfect home for the price and made it the smoothest home purchase I have done. If she can get a pay raise, give it to her!3 months agoKimberly Vanepps was my property manager for my short time in Augusta. She has been very helpful before, during, and after the whole process. 3 months agoOutstanding real estate agent – highly recommended! We recently worked with Caleb Willing, trying to find a new home in a new state. In our quest to find the perfect home, his professionalism and expertise exceeded all expectations. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional. My kids came with me to every appointment, and we saw many houses. Sometimes my thoughts were conflicting about what would be the most suitable, but Caleb was patient and guided me through the process. He knew the local market and understood our needs and preferences.
Throughout the entire process Caleb maintained constant communication, timely updates and scheduling viewings. His commitment to providing exceptional customer service was commendable.
Thank you for helping us find the right home and making our home-buying experience a wonderful one!
2 weeks agoThe majority of property managers here are great besides Scott Patterson. He is extremely unprofessional and rude to all of his potential clients. From the first call he was rushing me not allowing me to ask a single question. The property it self was nice but Scott Patterson was horrible. I got a bad feeling about him almost immediately and even when we decided to go with him because the house was perfect for us. He quickly cancelled our lease and allowed another tenant to move in before us. His reasoning was to blame us for his miscommunication and yell and disrespect us for his mistakes. Scott Patterson is a terrible property manager and anyone who has him managing their property I would strongly advise you switch to one of the other great managers at better homes and garden. Thank you for absolutely nothing but wasted time and money Scott Patterson, may the city of Augusta realize your scummy tactics before it’s too late.2 months agoI recently left the area after leasing a property in Augusta Georgia for almost 4 years. Debbie Weisz was my Better Homes and Gardens contact and was fantastic. Over those years we had everything from water heater, air conditioning and refrigerator that needed attention and she was always prompt and a pleasure to work with. Thank you Debbie for making my stay away from home as trouble free I could ever expect. The property I leased was at 357 Folkstone circle and I have nothing but good things to say about the property. 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths in a gated quiet community. I hated that my job ended and I had to leave the area, I was very comfortable there.a month agoIt was a pleasure working with Debbie Franco and Bianca Franco at Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate. Debbie and Bianca were always very responsive property managers if there were questions or concerns. And are quick to handle maintenance requests. I would rent from them again.2 weeks agoTo home owners employing Scott as your leasing agent / landlord I’m sorry to say that you’re losing possible renters left and right. This was the most ridiculous experience I’ve ever had. What started out as trying to negotiate a reasonable price on a property turned into petty stiff armed reaction. From the very first phone call he could not wait for you to stop talking and for him to get his money. He doesn’t mind pressuring you into a decision. So if you don’t get what you want, simply don’t put up with him. To people like Scott you are just a number, hence why me and other potential renters “ghosted” him on lease agreements. I wouldn’t have wanted to deal with someone like him as a landlord.I even called to ask if any other agents could work with us instead on the same property, garnering the nuanced response “yeah we know how Scott is” or “We hear that a lot”.
A month later the price of the property I was interested in fell below what I even offered to begin with. (Again sorry about that to the homeowners) When I called our dear Scott about it again to re-approach signing a lease for a now lower listing price he wasn’t very happy. Any shred of professionalism was a laughable concept.
We agreed to promptly send in our applications and in turn he would write and send a lease for us to be signed. The very next day I received a message from Scott saying a tenant was in need of a house as of that morning. Scott, we agreed to send the applications with the understanding that you would send us the lease. Now someone pops up out of the blue and has priority over us?
I called the office again to ask if a refund would be available in case Scott did give it to the other applicant. There was miscommunication between Scott and his office that was miss interpreted as me backing out of the agreement entirely and wanting a refund.
I called Scott one last time to check in and was met with short tempered ignorance. He was quick to make accusations along with employing middle-school level debate such as talking over you as you try to explain his mistakes, as well as trying to make falsehoods true by yelling them into existence. He wants you to feel like he’s in control. It’s just a poor business mindset.
He will not budge on anything and apparently doesn’t mind him and his clients losing money and time.
side note: The only two fields he has to input manually on our original lease agreement, he entered all of them incorrectly which simply consisted of our names and lease duration. Again being met with short tempered unprofessionalism when asked to fix it.

a month agoThey’ve increased my rent every year, the most recent of which came with a non-negotiable, mandatory “Resident Benefits Package” that costs an additional $50. You can get it reduced to $39.05 if you have renter’s insurance already, but it needs to cover $100,000 in damages, which would cost well beyond the $50. So they’re basically backing you into a corner to leave your current insurance provider so they can charge more rent under the guise of a “benefits package”.But hey, they send you an air filter once a month. What a deal.
Also, if you have any repair issues, they will blatantly ignore the information and advice you provide and send likely the wrong type of repairman/inspector, then charge you a $75 fee for it when nothing is found. For me, this was a clogged drain pipe behind my washer, but since they didn’t believe that I clean my washing machine every month, they sent out an appliance repairman who, you guessed it, found nothing wrong with the washing machine itself but told me it was definitely the drain pipe. They charged me $75 to send out a guy who told me nothing I didn’t already know.
I can only hope one day my property is bought out by another agency or the owner sells to someone that goes with another company because Sherman & Hemstreet has demonstrated time and time again over the last 5 years that they do not care about the people living in the properties they manage, they only care about their own profits.
4 months agoAs per the lease all tenants have to have the apartment and carpet professionally cleaned upon move out so the tenants before me did not have it professionally cleaned and Sherman and Hemstreet did not pay to have it cleaned either because when I moved in the place it was completely filthy but that was my fault. I took the place sight unseen. They also told me it would be a $600 non-refundable security deposit for my two dogs which I did not mind paying and I did but when I moved in, she said my bad I made a mistake. It’s an extra 200 for the second dog I had no choice to pay. But what really gets me they charged me $75.00 for a light fixture they say was missing if I known there was supposed to be one in that spot. I would’ve put it on my move in inspection like I did with other items that were missing.also they are charging me for a towel rack $ 80.00 that was on the wall but they showed me a picture with it on the toilet. I voiced my concern to three different people with no response.but if that’s how they make extra money shame on them. So if you decide to rent from them make sure you take pictures or a video of everything every inch of the place before and after lease also, make sure you are at the move out inspection.7 months agoSherman and Hemstreet have been an absolute breeze to deal with. They’re pleasant and responsive. I needed a place quickly and they really made renting my home quick and easy and got me in sooner than I could have possibly expected. Upon moving in, there were a couple of issues to which I followed directions and emailed them about. I heard back the same day on both and the team, Paul and Mike, they sent out were professional as well as an absolute pleasure to work with. Overall the best rental experience thus far and I haven’t even been here a week.5 months agoJoseph Edge Jr. manages the HOA for my neighborhood. Why my neighborhood pays this company in a different state, I am not sure. When I moved in, I was given 0 information about the HOA, and his name was all I could find from the bills. I had a issue and needed to ask the HOA something. I sent him several emails but could not get a response. I had to email the entire exec team before I could get him to respond. He send a one sentence, terse, response to only half of my question. He was not very helpful and I wish we were not paying them.2 weeks agoSherman & Hemstreet don’t care about their tenants of Blue Ridge Commons Evans Ga . Trash over flow stinks outside , lawn service unprofessional , every summer A/C unit goes out days later fixed . Crime in apartment complex no police presence only if called out . Last year suspect murder from Ohio out here in complex roaming around until FBI agents caught him from posting his location on social media site .
