Sainsburys Darnley has a superb fresh sushi counter and an excellent clothing section. There’s also an Argos upstairs which is very handy. The cafe/restaurant isn’t so great though (just get a dragon roll to take away!)

I used to really like this branch of Sainsbury – but I didn’t particularly enjoy my most recent experience.

The good things about this store – parking, space, cleanliness, range.

There is plenty of good parking – including under cover which can make a difference in the winter.

Inside there are wide isles and areas of open space, it just doesn’t feel crowded – almost like they had different ideas when they built it.

It is a good modern store that is well maintained and always kept clean and presentable. And the range of products here – with the Argos section upstairs, all the homeware etc is usually excellent.

However, it was not as good an experience as it had been previously this time. The range and selection of fresh produce was definitely poorer than before. Secondly, despite all the space, the only crowded and cramped area was the checkouts. The self scan area is cramped and when full of people and trollies an unpleasant place and experience. Problems with scanning reduced items made it all a long and protracted process.

A nicely laid out large supermarket but there is a lot of wasted space on the upper floor. Ample car parking that is also under cover

seems nice enough, good choice, staff are nice, i go to the argos in here most of the time! wheelie chair accessable to, usually pop in now and again for bits here and there, usually quite busy as it’s a retail park but that’s expected! the argos staff quite helpful as well 🙂

Plenty of parking here from people with disabilities to parent and child. There’s a different area for picking up your online order. The store items are quite expensive, although they now price match on some items. Large store with plenty of space for prams and wheelchair users.

Good shop, but can be a bit pricey as we all know about sainsbury’s lol location is good for cars with plenty of parking but there is no bus route direct to this store but nearest bus stops are only 5mins walk away and plenty of other shops nearby.

  1. Bright well stocked shelves. I downloaded the nectar app to get the best prices as some of the prices are a little more expensive than other shops. Good variety of clothing and lovely household items.

  2. Their policy of only letting you leave the basket checkout area upon scanning your receipt is unpleasant, and something i’ve never seen elsewhere. Hire security rather than treating all customers as would-be thieves until proven not.

  3. Very clean and tidy. Wide range of goods from homeware, clothing, gaming through to food.
There’s also a specsavers and Argos within the shop.
One thing I wasn’t so keen on was when trying to exit via the self-serve checkouts, there was a barrier that you have to scan your receipt to be able to get passed. I like a lot of people didn’t take a receipt. Therefore, I had to wait until another customer was leaving

  4. Nice clean pleasant shop well laid out and stocked. Took one star off as only one manned check out in this large store and had to stand in queue for too long.
I’m expect to have my shopping scanned by an EMPLOYEE I’m a customer

  5. Always excellent. Friendly staff.
Petrol station staff are always full of smiles and good cheer. A well organised store. None of this silly stock rotation. I always know where stuff is going to be. It’s the only supermarket I use. We’ll positioned close to transportation links Motorways and other shops.
