3 months agoThis place is good and easily wheelchair accessible but due to its location it’s heavily guarded by all sorts of security. Being paranoid although having no criminal record this makes my shopping experience there hurried. Reminds me of London too much.2 months agoGreat small city center supermarket Great for the basics and a few extras only downside is not many tills open if you don’t like self service ,it can be a very busy place, fresh food to go, friendly and very polite staff.6 months agoThis store is small. Not a lot of variety of products to choose from. However, you can pick up your essentials. I would not be able to do a full week’s food shop from here, for sure. In need of renovation. Most of the shops in West Gate are new. It needs a revamp. It’s usually quiet when I visit. Well stocked shelves. Never experienced any problems worth mentioning.2 months agoObvious racial profiling by the security, not ok at all, please address this. Very different reactions to customers setting the alarm off depending on race/appearance/age.a week agoGreat. They had everything we needed. No queues.

4 months agoThe management of this store has, sadly deteriorated over recent months. Checkouts are inadequately staffed resulting on queues much of the time. A situation that worsened when there a multiple self-service checkouts out of order.2 months agoThe very few staff is lovely, but Sainsbury’s needs to hire more staff rather than invest in high tech self check-out equipment. The shopping experience is ruined by not having enough staff for support and costumer service.5 months agoAn amazing store with everything you would need for food and daily essentials. The staff are always kind and pleasant and everything is well laid out and easy to find. The Argos collection point is also very handy.3 months agoClean and guy on self service till amazing. We had couple issues with product our fault and was helped by someone who greeted us and smiled.2 months agoI used to love shopping in Sainsbury’s, now everytime I walk in I feel like I am stepping into a prison except worse! There is always a homeless person outside asking for money, the security guard will fallow you if you have a bag from another shop, and when you finally get to the checkouts which is self scan only (except kiosk if it is open) if you don’t want a receipt because you are trying to reduce environmental damage then you can’t leave!! I honestly used to be against no receipt option but now I miss it especially if you are only popping in for a bottle of water or something, and when you ask staff why it’s usually either there is alot of theft or some other reason which sounds like a load of rubbish… considering lidl has opened opposite which has better prices and friendlier staff I think it’s the end of me shopping here

Their new click and collect service is terrible and needs some rethinking!
I waited 30 minutes for my shopping and the gentleman before me waited 40 minutes!! They made a previously efficient service much much worse. I appreciate that they don’t want to use a van outside anymore for valid reasons, but they still need to problem solve behind the scenes to make the new service just as efficient and timely as the previous one, otherwise there’s no point in having a click and collect service if you could just as easily go inside and do the shopping yourself!
A decent size store, with a wide range of items, clothing, food, cards, and an Argos.
Unfortunately, they’ve got rid of their in store Pharmacy, which was extremely useful as I live near by.
Also, they have shut their Cafe upstairs permanently too.
Really disappointed Sainsbury’s have closed their cafés as it was an easy day out with a friend, where we could do clothing shop as well as food and have a good lunch too. I love Tu clothing and this store has a really good amount of reasonably priced items. Lovely clean store and helpful staff too.
Easy to park. Got everything on my list using Smart Shop so I could see my total as I shopped plus picked up quite a few things at Nectar prices.
Needed 3 specific bottles of wine for my sister and found all of them with the help of the excellent staff. Cheapest was 8 pounds . Total was 30 pounds which was a pleasant surprise.
