I visited the store early on Saturday ( 29th ) morning…was welcomed with a smile & hello from the lady working on the flowers ( can’t remember her name ) Her service was first class offering to wrap my flowers & nothing was to much trouble …I left a very happy customer 😃

Fix the self checkout contactless payment!!! Serious issue that can leave people without money after trying to pay at Tesco

TLDR; Be ready to come out of the store with empty pockets and an empty shopping bag.

After scanning all the groceries I proceeded to pay via Apple Pay and the RMS terminal displayed an issue that contactless payment cannot be processed right now, 30+ £ were subtracted from my bank account, after few attempt trying to pay with card I had few more unsuccessful transactions and in result I have over 100£ in pending status that I can’t access till 8 days after the transaction.

So why was there no warning before, that contactless payment is not working? What if I was paying with my last 30£ and in result I wouldn’t be able to get food?

I reached out to customer service and they were just as unhelpful as it gets. After asking them to help me make sure that the unsuccessful transactions are unclaimed by the merchant they just shrugged and repeated the same phrase each time “it’s not possible, it could not charge more than once etc” showing that they did not listen when I explained to them that the register is broken and I tried paying a few times…

In my opinion a horrible mistake by Tesco. When it comes to payments and money everything should be working perfectly and kept under a tight control which it certainly isn’t in tesco.

They reduced their hours for the entire month of August and didn’t update their website! I couldn’t even do my weekly shop for my family. Despicable

I’d just like to mirror the other comments. What was once an excellent supermarket is now quite a lamentable one. The revamp was shoddily done, the layout is now illogical and the isles are now too narrow. One has to constantly move out of the way of the e-shoppers who behave in an utterly entitled way. The range of goods is now inferior to what was once offered and when things go out of stock, weeks go by before they’re in stock again. I’ve decided to take my custom elsewhere as I quite often can get what I came in for, so what’s the point.

Since the store revamp, it has gone downhill and broken its promise to regular shoppers. There is more commercial tat than ever before and the percentage of grocery’s hasdropped to the bear minimum, esecially any fresh produce (which is often on its sell by date!)

Just finished my weekly shop and what a thoroughly horrid experience. The layout and flow seem very strange. Considering the shop has had a referb the variety of food items available is pitiful. Just basic every day items werent available. Even the staff I talked to couldn’t understand the mentality of it all. It looks like it is being turned into a click and collect or online shop only? If you like less food variety, more clothes/tat and having to battle your way round with all the online pickers then this is the shop for you!! Otherwise stay away! Only positive is a good sized car park. I know none of the bosses will read this but looking at other reviews I’m not the only one to feel like this. Maybe they should start taking note.

  1. I always shopped here and had no problems until I came to shop with my little son, and in the customer service and old lady with a short height, unfortunately I don’t know her name, got into an argument with me, which scared my child so much. When the security came and my son was not ready to enter that part, and even when we were in another place the other day, he clung to me out of fear and said that this is the same woman. I am really sorry for some workers who do not know how to deal with customers and choose this job.

  2. When this store first opened it was great, fast forward & a pandemic later it seems to have gone down hill a bit. Compared to other supermarkets yes the shelves are better stocked most of the time. Just lately however the quality of fruit & vegetables has slipped somewhat…don’t know if this is because of the store trying not to waste a lot of food or what but recently I noticed a whole box of loose red peppers going off. They were not a pleasant site to look at & I wouldn’t have purchased one. Have purchased kiwi’s twice in a week & have had to try to find a pack which is not soft when most were. I think quality is lacking a bit at the moment.
And the most annoying thing as I’m sure many locals will agree with is the lack of trolleys! This morning on my commute to work I spotted 22 & not just Tesco trolleys, M & S too in the area some stuffed with rubbish etc, some by bus stops…22! Why is this store so bad at stopping people taking the trolleys back to their homes. I have an app to report them but I can’t stop my car every time I see one. It’s no wonder people are hounded on a Saturday when you do find one & take your shopping back to the car. You can’t keep purchasing new ones because people are selfish. DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM TESCO…STOP PEOPLE TAKING THEM & ABONDONING THEM!

  3. The fact you have a large clothing range but fail to have your changing rooms open is absolutely ridiculous. The money you will lose and the inconvenience you cause to customers is unacceptable this day and age. You expect people to buy and try on at home and then bring back. That’s fine for the odd thing or two but trying to buy multiple things is not possible. Please open your fitting room and stop being lazy and blaming it on staffing problems

  4. Store sells salads to go with no utensils.

If course there’s no sign or anything, the only way you can find out is waiting in a long queue and then speaking to customer service who had the audacity to suggest selling me one.

Tesco in general has good offering and pricing, but the little things are just as important.

  5. A good place in coventry area for shopping and they’ve got a whole lot of products to purchase at an affordable price and high quality. They have a free parking space for both disabled people and children and also for people without disabilities. They also have a wheelchair accessible area.
