A Comprehensive Guide to Using a Self-Service Car Wash
Using a self-service car wash can be a simple and cost-effective way to clean your vehicle. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to use a self-service car wash:
- Locate a Self-Service Car Wash: Use search engines or apps to find a nearby self-service car wash station.
- Prepare Your Vehicle: Remove any personal belongings, trash, or loose objects from the car’s exterior.
- Choose Your Service: Most self-service car washes offer different cleaning options, like soap, rinse, wax, etc. You may need to insert coins, bills, or a credit/debit card to select the desired service.
- Pre-Rinse: Before applying soap, use the high-pressure rinse to remove loose dirt and debris.
- Apply Soap: Select the soap option and use the wand to spray your car. Start from the top and work your way down, covering all areas.
- Scrub if Necessary: Some stations provide a foam brush. You can scrub your car to remove stubborn dirt. Be gentle to avoid scratching your car’s paint.
- Rinse: After scrubbing, choose the rinse option to wash away the soap. Again, start from the top and work your way down.
- Wax (Optional): Some self-service car washes offer a wax option. Apply this if you want a protective coating on your vehicle.
- Dry Your Vehicle: Use the provided air dryer or a microfiber towel to dry your car. Drying by hand can prevent water spots.
- Vacuum Interior (Optional): Some locations have vacuum stations to clean your car’s interior. Insert coins or pay as required.
- Inspect Your Vehicle: Do a final walk-around to ensure all areas are clean and to your satisfaction.
- Follow Safety Guidelines: Always adhere to the instructions and warnings provided at the car wash station. Wear appropriate clothing, and be mindful of slippery floors.
- Leave the Bay Clean: If there’s a trash can, dispose of any garbage. Put away any provided tools like brushes back where they belong.
- Exit Promptly: Be mindful of others waiting and exit the wash bay in a timely manner.
Remember, every self-service car wash might have slightly different equipment and procedures, so take a moment to read any posted instructions or ask for assistance if needed. Self-service car washes are typically open 24/7 and can be a convenient way to maintain your car’s appearance.

REALLY LIKE THE NICE PEOPLE THAT WORK THERE!!!!! VERY CLEAN CAR WASH, INSIDE AND OUT!!!!!! WISH IT WAS A LITTLE CHEAPER LIKE GRAND FORKS WASHES. BUT OVERALL IT IS AN AMAZING PLACE. FRIENDLY.. 😁😃👍👍👍👍👍By Tricia Griggs (4 months ago)My wife and I will never go anywhere else. Love the prices, love the big bays to wash both our cars at the same time. We actually spend about an hour on each car while we are there, unless we’re in a rush, in that case we use the auto wash. In 5 years I’ve only had to issues, both with mechanical problems. Both times my issue was fixed in less than 20 seconds. I even had a worker there use his personal card to let me finish my wash when the machine messed up and ate 13.00 I had put in. Great service.By Crowley McConnell (2 years ago)I chose an automatic bay for my car wash. That was by far the best automatic car wash I have discovered in the far NE and far NW. Devils Lake is usually about my halfway point to my destination 3-6 days a week. I was extremely impressed and oversatisfied with the results of the car wash. Bugs quickly and thickly accumulate on my windshield, side mirrors, and front of my vehicle causing me to have to stop about every hour to clean my windows. The automatic car wash at Dukes Car Wash is NOT like other automatic car washes I’ve been to. This one actually washes the vehicle and blasts off bugs and other accumulated debris at a very fair and reasonable price. This will definitely be a frequent stop and habit that I will use atleast 2-3 times a week.By Anthony S (a year ago)Best place to get your vehicle clean and shiny!!By Kyle Halle (3 months ago)The personal car wash bays are clean and accommodating. Also, the staff are very helpful and know how to detail a car PROPERLY. However, I was Absolutely astounded by how horrible the automatic wash is!! It used to be fine.By Nunya B (Count Brockula) (a year ago)

I went in there for car wash it would been better if I hand wash myself. Only last 2 mins and the fact they left my car windows soapy and there still was so muchm dirt on the car. And I paid for the best price. They need to get betterBy Falhada Sokondo (a year ago)My wife called to ask if they had under body wash and Ray the manager got rude and slammed the phone down. So I went down there and Ray the manager got rude to me also. And then had the nerve to get me to buy a car wash ticket. And I told him that no way I would do business with him. For the Way he treats the customer. 3/19/2021.By Myrle Hartman (2 years ago)Always stop for a wash and wax when I’m in Jmstn. Love that they hand dry your vehicle. We always buy books of wash tickets, they are a good deal.By Belle Star (2 years ago)

Love this place! Well lit, clean, affordable, gets the job done, open 24/7. Vacuuming stations are also available. One unique thing about this wash barn is the center has tall wash areas for RVs and or boats.
Love the touch-less wash option. Had troubles with the door not opening for my wash and texted the business number, got an immediate response and the issue was fixed within seconds. Will be back!
I frequent the WashBarn in both Mandan and Bismarck without major problems, mostly mud piles from previous customers, which the ownership can’t fix, but today took the cake! I went to wash my car in the third stall at the Mandan location started putting in my quarters and it kept eating them without recognizing the deposit only a third of my quarters were recognized (12/36) and then I tried calling the phone listed at the property and not only did no one answer, given that it’s a Sunday is more understandable, but you can’t leave a message because the voicemail is full. If you’re gonna be open on a Sunday, then maybe you need to have someone available for a phone call. So am I just out $7.50? I guess that’s one way to make more money.
Only Cold water, NO WASH SOAP had to use the brush to clean entire vehicle and rinse for $10.00. Doors randomly broken. VAC too bulky to get anything but your seats. The “wash” mode wouldn’t clean anything but the bubbles. My car wasn’t filthy, just road dust that I could wipe off with my finger. Will not be returning. Only stopped here because I have a roof rack that brings my clearance above 7 feet high.
Great location, great car Wash. What does soap sucks. Pre-soak, pressure wash soap and Dove soap in the brush did a terrible job
