Self-Service Car Wash Prices in the US

Here is a price table of self-car washes in the US:

Type of Self-Car Wash Price Description
Basic Self-Car Wash $5 – $10 Includes washing, waxing, and vacuuming.
Comprehensive Self-Car Wash $10 – $15 Includes washing, waxing, vacuuming, and detailing the interior and exterior of your car.
Self-Service Car Wash $5 – $10 You wash your car yourself using the equipment provided by the self-car wash.

Here are some factors that can affect the cost of a self-car wash:

  • The size of your car: Larger cars will typically cost more to wash than smaller cars.
  • The level of detail you want: A more comprehensive wash will typically cost more than a basic wash.
  • The location of the self-car wash: Self-car washes in urban areas will typically cost more than self-car washes in rural areas.
  • The time of day you get your car washed: Self-car washes are typically busiest during peak hours, such as weekends and evenings.

If you are looking for a more affordable option, you can consider doing a self-service car wash. Self-service car washes typically cost around $5 – $10, and you can wash your car as often as you like. However, self-service car washes can be time-consuming and messy.

Ultimately, the best way to find out the cost of a self-car wash in your area is to call around to different self-car washes and get quotes. You can also use online resources, such as Yelp or Google Maps, to compare prices.

I highly recommend solar car wash to the DYI people. The only reason I’m not giving it five stars is because today when I got my car wash I used the the vacuum cleaner outside that took $1.25 and it was not working. I do love the fact that I can either get an automated wash with scrubbers or touch free or I can do it myself and do a very thorough job on the certain areas with their self service bays.

Typical do it yourself carwash. I only give it three stars as it is very outdated. You can use tokens or quarters only. The timer seems to run out a lot faster than other washes. I used up $5 and still had suds, didnt get to the wax. There are no grates on the water channel that is under the car, I damb near sprained my ankle when I accidentally stepped into it. I didn’t hate the place, but it might be worth driving further away for a better wash.

Not quite vintage but a classic self-serve spot. The bays were tidy and all the equipment worked. I liked it better at $2 but such is inflation. No cards, bring your dollars and quarters.

The car wash stalls are huge! plenty of room and enough vacuums for more than 1 car. EXCEPT I bought a pack of lorna doones cookies from the vending machine and they no longer tasted like a Lorna doone, they had expired!..in July of 2021… but other than that great place to wash your car!!

The guys that work here are the best. The gas station is the only one I know of that you can still get full service. The car wash is so awesome, and the hand drying at the end, wow, is all my kids can ever think to say.

The indoor self-wash bays are AWFUL! At least two of them are never open (might be three now) and the coin-op machines look like they haven’t been updated since the 80s! One was broken into the last time (and literally THE. LAST. TIME. because I’m never going back) I was there and when I switched bays, the machine wasn’t recognizing that I put money in and wasn’t returning it. I had to go into the store and ask for a refund! Also, the line for the automatic wash often blocks one of the doors for the self-wash bays.

Self wash stations are in need of repair. The machines get jammed and quarters get stuck. It’s been this way for at least a year. I had to change wash bays and still gave up putting quarters in as my wash time was ticking down before I could get the machine to take all my money. The person next to me moved their car to my wash bay after I left for the same reason. Time to look elsewhere, I’m tired of having to go into the office of teenagers hanging out to ask for help.

  1. Interesting to see the 1 star reviews referring people to woodys. These people only have 1 review posted on google. Either employees or something similar. Fakes who want to try to ruin a small business over rivalry.

Watch out Woody’s. There’s a new wash in town and it does a great job. I’ve had wash passes at many car washes but at 4 seasons it comes out the cleanest, driest, and spot free out of any on the others. The guys spraying do a great job. They take their time to get everything. My wheels come out sparkling after thanks to the wheel brushes. I’m meticulous and no wash is perfect for me but it’s my only choice in the winter and 4 seasons has me won. Unlimited washes for $30 a month. You can’t beat that at a high end wash.

  2. It’s nice to not have to get out of my vehicle.

Can’t say I like the attendant there. Not that there’s anything wrong with them but I just feel that handing my card to someone when the reader is right there in front of me is silly. And I don’t really want to talk to someone I just want my car washed.

Another thing is there’s a sign that says not to go there if your car is over 7 years old or 100k miles. Sounds like I should find somewhere else to go in town.

  3. A great place to wash your car, clean out your car, and throw trash away. Zips has vacuums constantly running and on site with garbages open to the public that they change every few hours. I’ve never had a bad experience with any of their employees or their services. However, I must warn that they get busy fast!! Everything there is free to the public except their car wash. If you’ve never been I’d suggest going!!

  4. The system does a great job cleaning the car exterior. Staff is there to guide you into the wash bay. Vacuums are free and work very well!

The membership is no longer worth the money…

The crew no longer uses brushes to get bugs off the windshield. Soaps run out and sit empty for days at a time. (Asked an employee and he said I must’ve downgraded my membership, the problem isn’t them, it’s me… Not true)
Spinner brushes often not calibrated with sensors putting extreme pressure on mirrors. Dryer has weakened and no longer drys the car evenly, and lately have been experiencing water spots, likely due to water softener issue.

Customer service is not good. I had to call 10 different times over 3 days due to their customer service number not having any available representatives..

Time to try a competitor across the freeway!
