This Tesco has a good selection of stuff, very well located in the city centre. There’s good fresh fruit and veg, meal deals, and a good selection of other stuff – I came in for household supplies like washing up sponges and there was a good selection for very good prices.

The only place where the tobacco stand is always run by a toddler who asks 30year olds for ID even if they aren’t buying anything. Either put a grown adult without an attitude problem behind the counter, or actually train and supervise your staff. Don’t ever have an issue when it’s any of the adult staff, somehow, it’s only the teenagers who just can’t comprehend age and think anyone without gray hair must be IDed.

It’s reasonably big inside but there could be a lot more fresh options and a nice deli with a layout change.

Came in for late night needs. Arrived 30 minutes before closing. They had everything. The staff were helpful.

I went and bought a fruit snack and went to grab a fork. There were none. I spoke to a member of staff who directed me to the meal deal section to get one even though I had already looked there. Obviously there were still none there since I had previously looked about 30 seconds ago. Secondly, I got directed to the tobacco counter to get one and there were also none there. Apparently none round the back either. So I went and bought my own. How can they not supply forks?

The sign claims to be open 24 hours and it isn’t. Can’t see why not because they do have pay at pump. Other wise it’s fine.

Not open at 6:30 despite signage saying 6:00. Met with a shacking head from staff inside indicating I couldn’t come in.

Saturday 7:00 am, there was a small queue. Diesel was available with no limit. Staff were on the ground checking the flow. On my way out the queue was tripled! Go early to finish faster.

A good ‘Pay at pump’ facility 👍

BUT only ‘good’ When there is fuel. The last time I went there was no diesel.

And The time before that they were closed at an unexpected time.

  1. Could do better if they had less card only self service tills and more manned and cash accepted ones. Pharmacy has also gone down recently in the standard of service provided. Otherwise it’s not bad so have given a three. They are in the process of revamping the cafe, although I still can’t bear eating to the sound of Tesco announcements.

  2. Very decent Tesco Extra. Well stocked, massive range including all the usuals and the cafe which is great. Always find the staff really friendly too. Plenty of parking space and fuel onsite. Traffic can be a bit crazy getting in and out but that’s Salisbury for you.

  3. When a customer needs to do a simple exchange of items, with the same price, and quite within the remit of the posted exchange policy, is it entirely necessary for the mandatory lecture regarding receipts? From a shop assistant?

Most of us have quite successfully managed to live to an old age without any life advice from Tesco staff.

  4. Great store offering a wide selection of groceries and a cafe upstairs. Just a quick visit for us but we managed to find everything we needed with no hassle.

  5. I called in here to use the cafe as I needed a reasonably cheap but edible breakfast. The cafe is to the rear of the store on the upper floor; the toilets are also located here.

There is a set of stairs or a lift is available as well. The staff seemed a bit frantic on first approach with a bit of a wait to order food, however it was very fast service once I had sat down at a table.

The cafe was clean and presentable, I had the breakfast which is a traditional English fry up. Other options are available if you want to go healthier. The food was perfectly edible but nothing to write home about, just as I would expect for a cafe like this. The coffee was great, really enjoyed it.

A selection of cakes and pastries are also available, there is Wi-Fi in the cafe which is spacious.

Based on this experience I would recommend the cafe for some cheap quick food.
