Key Factors for the Best Gyms for Families

When considering the best gyms for families, there are several factors to keep in mind. Here are key aspects that make a gym family-friendly:

  1. Family-Focused Programs: The best gyms for families often offer programs and activities that cater to all age groups, from children to adults. Look for gyms that provide family fitness classes, parent-child workouts, or specialized activities designed for kids, such as sports leagues or swimming lessons.
  2. Childcare Services: A family-friendly gym should have reliable and safe childcare services available on-site. This allows parents to work out while their children are supervised by trained staff in a stimulating and secure environment.
  3. Family Memberships: Gyms that offer affordable and flexible family membership options make it easier for the whole family to join and participate. Look for gyms that provide discounted rates or customized membership packages for families to encourage everyone’s involvement.
  4. Variety of Fitness Options: The best gyms for families provide a wide range of fitness options to accommodate different interests and fitness levels. This may include cardio equipment, strength training areas, group fitness classes, swimming pools, indoor or outdoor sports facilities, and even recreational activities like rock climbing or trampolining.
  5. Kid-Friendly Amenities: Family-friendly gyms often have amenities that cater to children’s needs. This may include dedicated play areas, kids’ fitness equipment, family changing rooms, or accessible restroom facilities. These features create a welcoming environment for families with young children.
  6. Educational Programs: Gyms that offer educational programs related to health, nutrition, and overall wellness can benefit families. Look for gyms that provide workshops, seminars, or resources on topics like healthy eating, child development, or family-oriented fitness tips.
  7. Safe and Clean Environment: Maintaining a safe and clean environment is crucial for family-oriented gyms. This includes regular equipment maintenance, adequate safety measures, proper sanitation practices, and attentive staff to ensure the well-being of all family members.
  8. Family Events and Activities: Engaging families through special events and activities helps create a sense of community within the gym. Look for gyms that organize family-friendly events like fitness challenges, holiday-themed activities, or outdoor picnics to foster social connections among families.
  9. Convenient Hours and Locations: Family-friendly gyms should have convenient operating hours and accessible locations. This allows family members to fit workouts into their schedules more easily, making it feasible for everyone to participate in fitness activities.
  10. Positive Reviews and Testimonials: Before choosing a gym for your family, consider reading reviews or testimonials from other families who are members. Their experiences can provide valuable insights into the gym’s family-friendly atmosphere, services, and overall suitability.

Remember, the best gym for families will depend on individual preferences, the specific needs of your family members, and your budget. It’s important to visit potential gyms, ask for trial memberships or tours, and assess how well they align with your family’s requirements before making a decision.

Extremely packed with people weekday nights almost to an unsafe degree. All machines are busy and have two to three people waiting in line. The open space is very crowded and people are almost on top of each other. Bring your own mat because they are all in rough condition and not cleaned regularly. All free weights are left all over the place and there is no staff around to clean or organize equipment. If you plan to use their lockers bring your own lock. The facility itself is nice and has promise if they could regulate capacity or expand.

Sarah H is a standout staff member. Clearly executive material. Engaging, responsive, intuitive, proactive demonstrations of skills to satisfy my needs and those of the other members I have witnessed.
Equipment issues plague most gyms. However, preventative maintenance and immediate repairs require more than just their one facility services currently on staff.

I’ve been a faithful 24 hour fitness member for as long as I can possibly remember, but I was looking to try out new places in an effort to break away and try something n.

EOS fitness is a fairly new gym that has amazing prices. If you live near their gym, I can see this as being a practical alternative to LA and 24 hour fitness. I went for a 7-day pass and had very little complaints regarding the layout and machines.

During covid, they have a touchless check in. You can either use their keychain ID or your cellphone. You will need a reservation up to 24 hours in advance and the cool part is you can do either 1 or 2 hour reservations.

Cleanliness isn’t really all there during this pandemic which is why they get 4 stars from me. There’s minimal signage to encourage social distancing so people just assume that every machine is open. News flash: it isn’t. But they don’t have people monitoring or sanitizing as well so it’s a huge free for all and Petri dish.

Still, I’d be willing to give it another shot as I am intrigued by their sauna and other amenities. Overall, I’d consider this to be a great value for those who want to work out and I believe their highest tier is only $25/mo which includes buddy privileges. Always a benefit.

Oh yeah… one thing I wanted to add is that their sales team is terrible. I only got 1 text throughout my 7 day trial asking for assistance on how to get signed up for their membership.

I was watched while changing by someone FaceTiming a man on the phone in the locker room. I shared my concerns to Kim at the front desk that there was a girl currently FaceTiming with someone in the locker room, and it was directly facing me while I was changing. And then she turned around and tried to cover that she was talking to a man, but I found it really Uncomfortable and inconsiderate. I’ve been a long time member at EOS fitness and I find this unacceptable. Kim at the front desk said that the person can be facetiming as long as there’s no recording, but she didn’t want to correct the situation. I asked for the manager and she said the manager was running late. There was no action taken, sympathy/concern nor incident report was made. I think that customer service is lacking at this location. I just wanted to let you know this is what’s happening at this Santa Ana location and I’m going to consider going to another gym.

Great gym no complaints except the security looks in people’s cars AND IS RUDE!! I watched him casing the cars after people got off and went to gym or their work … Not to cool .

Great overall gym location, have a variety of machines. Would have wished that they had more benches instead of ellipticals and treadmills.. The maintenance workers are hardworking but just beware the front desk folk never usually say hi or bye, which is uncomfortable when you’re signing in and go daily. I also recommend bringing your own sanitation wipes, if you want to keep your gym looking nice and clean, since paper towels are usually empty.. overall great atmosphere recommend

This gym facility was filled with an assortment of people predominantly young members. While checking out the gym to see if it would be a fit for me. I immediately started to recognize an overcrowded facility. Both younger males and females could be seen gathering around the machines as if it was a social club. Multiple individuals could be seen with cell phones in their hands going through social media posts. This facility was overcrowded with high school-aged kids that seem to have no respect for anyone trying to work out. I would highly recommend this gym facility start to train management and keep the machines regulatory accessible for everyone. Most people that go to the gym have a set time and this would not be achievable with these younger kids holding over machines. The restrooms were also in need of some maintenance. The staff was friendly. most of the equipment was in good working order.

I left this place disappointed, the leg press machine needed to be lubricated and I asked Kim if she could lubricate it and she told me that the right person was vacuuming and that she was going to tell the person my request, 20 minutes passed and no one came to On my way out I saw the person who was helping someone in front I told Kim that no one came and she told me that the person was busy only one person works there. “suggestion should everyone know how to lubricante the machines” so they have less time to talk and better help the customer

Nice staff. Plenty of machines. Black card member so I get use of tan beds, massage chairs and massage beds. Well worth the membership price. Been a member since 2012. Not buff, but sure am tanned and relaxed😜

It’s a wonderful gym to be at. The gym community is very chill and welcoming, it always seems like when someone loses something many people return it to the lobby.

  1. I always enjoy getting in a good work out 3 to 4 times a week. The machines are new and clean, the staff has always been welcoming. There are plenty of cardio machines, cleaning stations and accommodating bathrooms. Did I mention massage chairs? Yeah it is worth the money to get a gym pass. So stop making excuses and make it happen!

  2. Club is okay but People here are are the most judgemental, rude, unkind people. They complain about homeless smelling bad THEN complain about homeless taking a shower!! Too many mentally ill selfish people. PF should ban ignorant, mean girls and guys. 🙄

  3. Staff is friendly, equipment sometimes is broken. A lot of people go to just be on their phones while on the machines 🤷🏻‍♂️ When it rains or sometimes even when it doesn’t there water leaking. Overall ok for beginners wanting to start working out.

  4. My Guest and I enjoy this Planet Fitness. The Staff is very nice, knowledgeable and always very helpful. We go on weekdays/evenings and machines are always available. Gym is very clean and well maintained.

  5. I don’t like sports, but I often travel across the country, and I can take a clean hot shower here, which is the only reason I sign up for membership. Other gyms don’t allow bathing, deliberately break down the bathroom facilities, adjust and shorten the business hours, and make it difficult to take a bath. This is a very stupid way of doing business, because the real homeless people are not afraid of getting dirty . Most of them don’t take a bath at all. I think it’s a smart business manager to provide temporary bathing function to travelers. After all, most members are not homeless. We should prepare a bathing function for most people and provide members with a normal gym. Function, bathing is an essential function of the gym.
