First time shopping here as I haven’t been to the UK since I was a child. Now, as an adult, I was pleasantly surprised to see a wide variety of pretty much everything. Also, prices are reasonable. Additionally, I saw new-to-me products that I definitely will be trying. I will be shopping here again for sure!

A medium sized supermarket. Currently Colchester town centre’s only grocery shopping location, tucked quietly away.

Range of items is good for the store’s size. Staff are friendly and helpful. Produce fresh and shelves well stocked.

Majority of the time not had a issue with Sainsbury’s in town. Ideally situated and convenient. However this week had to speak to a young lad climbing on bread baskets full of to stack the shelves I spoke to the individual saying that you should not be doing that. Your shoes are touching bread that you are going to fill the shoes and the public will buy. Basic food hygiene. Earlier on in the week a young girl was walking her sausage dog around the store down all the food aisles. The dog is clearly not a guide assisted dog but just a fashion image for this girl. Not one member of staff spoke to her that only guide dogs are allowed in store. The store had lots of staff working down the aisles when we spoke to a member of staff they just said we never saw the dog. Seems the staff are too busy chatting with one another or don’t care. They need to put food safety 1st.

I rated this place 3 because I think the shop is cold. But it is very good indeed. Please turn on the heater if you have one. This rievew is written by Helena, age 6, Lukasz ‘s child.

If I could give zero I would! Where is the Manager? Is that the person with their hands in their pockets looking bored? The majority of staff need a lesson in customer service and how to approach a customer… put that phone down for starters and look interested in your job! They might as well computerise this store and do away with the lazy staff, they could then lower the prices

AVOID AT ALL COST. Put a £55 delivery order in with deliveroo. The rider just arrived and we have 14 items missing! They won’t answer the phone, deliveroo won’t help so will be charging back the money from the bank. Absolute joke. Will be posting all over social media so people can see your quite happy for families to starve!

Place an order on deliveroo and only got half of what I ordered. Some items were out of stock and I wasn’t charged but I needed them so why advertise them as available if you didn’t have them. I ordered two 4 pack of Stella and only got one but was charged so clearly someone can’t read the order and may need glasses. Overall was a waste of time and won’t be using them again as had to do another order from asda which all came without anything missing.

Be careful when ordering from here on Deliveroo, paid for a 1.75l bottle of coke and get a 500ml bottle delivered. Not the first time I’ve paid for larger items and have been given the smaller instead. Conveniently they never answer the phones when I call to get the matter resolved.

This is a lovely store with a lot to offer and staff are usually very nice. You just have to be patient at smart checkout because if you’re at the back and have an issue, you will be dealt with last whilst other people push ahead of you to get help with items. Not staff’s fault, need more staff on it, 1 is not enough when trying to handle shop lifters on top etc.

  2. I love shopping here great staff . Very helpful will do anything to help you. Cafe fantastic food Is amazing. The clothing department is fantastic have lots of styles of clothing to suit all ages. You can scan as you go which is faster if you need to do shopping fast. All In all I give this store a 10/10 and is cheep so helps if your on a budget. Forgot to say there is a bit selection on everything in this store so your get everything you have on your shopping list .

  3. Good parking. Really big store. Loads of choice on everything. I normally call in after going to Marks Tey boot sale around 9 Am. Often only one check-out open. So queueing. Why? I won’t use self service facilities anywhere. Better service at the Sudbury store.

  4. Shopped at this store this morning and was really annoyed only 2 manned-check-outs were open with large queues at both. Frozen food in trolly melting while waiting. I asked a supervisor if they could open more tills but was almost laughed at. Was told they were waiting for staff to arrive. While shopping there were many staff members collecting items for home deliveries blocking the isles with their big trollies. So staff shortage was not the problem, just very poor management. This store is often like this and customers are told to use the self service check-outs which is not what these customers want. Totally dissatisfied with the service at this store. Management need retraining to serve customers in the shop first not keeping them waiting 10 minutes at a counter.

  5. Went to Argos to buy kids scooter. Lovely Customer Service . Everyone is very pleasant and happy. Thank you good experience.
