4 months agoFor how dirty my car was, it did a good job. All of the hand washers were being used so I went through the automatic. This place is usually pretty busy.4 months agoGreat little car wash with affordable prices and easy access. It has a nice detailing section too if you need to do that after your car wash or just need to do some cleaning on the inside of your vehicle. I come here often.3 months agoCalifornia Car Wash is an incredibly well equipped business. Convenient, easy to employ with results that will even make your car smile.4 months agoI have gone through the car wash before no problem. This time it destroyed my back wiper almost ripping it completely off11 months agoSuper cheap and lots of options for cleaning. For $2-$5 the self wash is great. Fast and efficient cleaning definitely worth the cost for a quick and detailed clean. I always go here when I need to wash my car and don’t want to spend alot or worry about automatic washes damaging my paint or soft top. Worth a visit!

in the last weekI usually love this place, I have a red book card . Today was a major miss though, and it includes car damage to my brand new car… Today was a mediocre car wash job. I was pretty frustrated because I opened my car door and it was obvious that they didn’t vacuum my dog hammock… They typically always vacuum it and it’s no problem… I asked the guy about it and the guy said oh well it’s just gonna cause more trouble if we try to vacuum it which doesn’t make sense for so many reasons but the biggest one is that I come here often and they’ve never had an issue with it before. I thought it was weird that my car came back so quickly, but didn’t think much of it. I was gonna let it go… Then I walked around my car and found several instances of black smudges… The guy said it was from tree sap, but it was kind of surprising that no one tried to get it off… I called them over and they got it off within a few minutes. It was no big deal. None of these things are that hit or miss but then I got to my car and I noticed that they totally scratched the buttons on my steering wheel. It’s a brand new 2023 car and I’m super livid that the crew here would scratch it up. I don’t have any other scratches anywhere else but this pissed me off. When I was grabbing my car, the guy was paying extra close attention to the steering wheel, but didn’t say anything… Even acknowledging that they did it would’ve gone a huge deal but I’m pissed today was a terrible experience and I’m really frustrated. I would like the button on my car to be fixed.Edit: Makaela immediately reached out to me to resolve the issue and replace the damage done to my steering wheel. It took a while for Chico Hyundai to get the parts + schedule an appointment but it got fixed and I was happy with Makaela reaching out to resolve the issue. Thank you for making this right and giving me a reason to come back to Scrubbs
2 years agoUpdate to my last review: I was contacted within an hour or less of my review and spoken to by the manager and asked if there was anything they could do to fix this situation. They agreed to take me this morning to finish off the job, turns out there was a minor miscommunication and there’s no true fault here. They did a phenomenal job on the final detail, very pleased and their customer service and ability to rectify concerns is phenomenal. Thanks again, Scrubbs team! My car feels brand new again ✨a month agoNever again. Paid $300 for wash and interior detail. At first all looked fine. My mistake for not inspecting the work. First my driver rear door was left with some type of film I had to wipe off. Then I noticed a plastic flashing piece around my windshield was missing I can’t say for sure Scrubbs is responsible but I don’t rember it being missing prior to my visit. Then when I open the back passenger door the rubber seal fell . All but one of the fastners were gone. The rubber was still intact but fastners were gone. My car is very well maintained only 6 years old with 40,000 miles on it. I know this was in perfect condition before I left it with them. So now on top of paying $300 for a mediocre detail and bad wash, I have to pay for repairs. I’ll stick with the chevron car wash.5 months agoThe manager, Makaela is straight up rude. Just straight disrespectful. Offered zero assistance. Everyone else is always wonderful, the counter girl very respectful and polite. . Gigi…I love it here, but you have to respect the person paying for services. After my car was washed and got all the extras for $65…I was told my car is old. My car is 4 years old with 70,000 miles in perfect condition. I had my car detailed 4 days earlier, but I drove over Donner Summit and it was dirty on the outside. They missed spots everywhere. When I brought to the ladies attention, she very quickly spoke to me in a language I didn’t understand. I left in order to not cause a scene. Never again Gigi. I have photos if your interested.2 months agoFollow their workers guidance when you line up for the automated car wash! They do a pretty good job. Check your vehicle any missed spots when they call you when it’s done.

Guidelines for a Secure Car Wash Experience
When it comes to car washing, safety should always be a top priority. Ensuring that you have the right tools and techniques in place can help protect both yourself and your vehicle. Follow these general safety guidelines to make your car washing experience safe and effective:
- Choose a safe location: Find a flat and well-lit area to wash your car. Avoid washing your car on a slope or near busy roads to prevent accidents.
- Use appropriate tools: Invest in quality car washing supplies, such as microfiber cloths, soft brushes, and a car wash mitt. Avoid using abrasive materials that may damage your car’s paint.
- Check for hazards: Inspect your car for any loose parts or sharp objects that could cause injury during the washing process. Clear out any debris from the car’s interior as well.
- Protect yourself: Wear gloves and protective eyewear to shield your skin and eyes from potential chemical irritants. Additionally, consider wearing closed-toe shoes to protect your feet.
- Follow product instructions: Read and adhere to the instructions provided by the car cleaning products you’re using. This includes dilution ratios, application methods, and safety precautions.
- Start with a pre-wash: Rinse your car thoroughly with water before applying any cleaning agents. This helps remove loose dirt and prevents scratching the paint when wiping.
- Use a gentle touch: When scrubbing your car’s surface, apply light pressure to prevent swirl marks or scratches. Use straight-line movements rather than circular motions.
- Be mindful of water usage: Conserve water by using a bucket instead of a hose for rinsing. Turn off the water when not in use to minimize wastage.
- Watch out for slippery surfaces: Be cautious of slippery surfaces, particularly when using car shampoo or other cleaning agents. Use anti-slip mats or wear non-slip shoes to maintain stability.
- Let your car dry: After rinsing, allow your car to air dry or use a clean microfiber cloth to gently dry the surface. Avoid rubbing too vigorously to prevent possible damage.
By following these safety guidelines, you can achieve a clean and sparkling car while minimizing the risk of accidents or damage. Remember to always prioritize safety during every car wash session.

This car wash is convenient. I do delivery, so it enables me to swing by right off the highway before or after work. Generally things are smooth but I like the other Chico Surf Thru on Esplanade. It’s far more easier to access the Forest Ave drive through once you know how. The Esplanade Surf Thru is very busy allot of the time except for on off-hours right before they close. They do close somewhat early but they’re open on Sunday. The monthly service is far more reasonably priced. It does require a two month commitment. I highly recommend it. The district customer service is wonderful so if there’s an issue they will fix it. Give them a couple of days to get back to you. I buy the cheapest car wash. I don’t know what the more expensive ones are like. Yes my car does sometimes still need a little more attention but to Surf Thru’s credit my car is sometimes very dirty to start with. Plus if there’s any dirt left on it I simply drive back through. Take the monthly plan. You’ll be glad you did.
Not worth it. $17 dollar car wash, first car of the morning and I should of just washed it at home. Dryer doesn’t even take water off a basic vehicle and too much soap gets caught in spots. I dont know if tire shine is included at this price but the tires came out dull as well. Rip off.
I went through the car wash the first time and pulled over to vacuum to notice that there was soap residue on my right side. After speaking to the attendant and going another 2 times through the car wash I went home to notice an employee stuck their price of gum on the side of my car. I never made a stink or problem about the situation but this is over the top. By the way I could not receive a refund.
Even after talking with Dana, I didn’t get as much as an apology for the inconvenience of being stuck in the car wash twice in one week. I was simply told to file a damages claim at the Esplanade location where it occurred. It’s obvious they don’t value their customers as long as they make money
I would give this ZERO stars if i could. I DO NOT recommend this car wash! Had to have my truck run through the car wash ×2 and it still was not clean. Also, I noticed several scratches after.
