How to Maintain Your Car’s Cleanliness Between Hand Washes

Maintaining your car’s cleanliness between washes is essential to preserve its appearance and value. Here are some simple steps to help you keep your car looking clean and tidy:

  1. Regularly Remove Trash: Dispose of any trash or debris accumulated inside your car. Use a small trash bag or container to keep things organized.
  2. Wipe Down Surfaces: Use a microfiber cloth and mild interior cleaner to wipe down the dashboard, steering wheel, and other surfaces regularly. This prevents dust buildup and maintains a fresh interior.
  3. Vacuum Regularly: Vacuum the carpets, seats, and floor mats to eliminate dirt and crumbs. A handheld vacuum or portable car vacuum can be handy for quick cleanups.
  4. Use Car Mats: Invest in high-quality rubber or carpeted car mats. They can protect your car’s floor from spills and dirt, and you can easily remove and clean them.
  5. Keep Cleaning Wipes Handy: Keep some automotive cleaning wipes in your car. They can be used to quickly clean surfaces and remove smudges and stains.
  6. Avoid Eating Inside: Minimize eating inside your car to reduce the chances of spills and crumbs. If you do eat, make sure to clean up immediately afterward.
  7. Park Thoughtfully: When parking, choose shaded or covered areas to reduce exposure to bird droppings, tree sap, and other debris.
  8. Use a Car Cover: If you don’t use your car frequently or park it for extended periods, consider using a car cover to protect it from dust and outdoor elements.
  9. Address Spills Promptly: If any spills occur, clean them up as soon as possible to prevent stains or odors from setting in.
  10. Rinse Off Dirt: If you notice your car is covered in light dirt or dust, use a gentle spray or rinse to remove it. Avoid high-pressure washing, as it may damage the paint.

By following these tips, you can keep your car looking fresh and well-maintained between regular washes, ensuring it stays in top condition for years to come.

Had to go through multiple times because they weren’t applying the tire shine I paid for and this place destroyed both my front wheels. After 3 trips I’m giving up, I’ll never coming back.

Used to be great… nice new equipment, but they cut down on how many employees they have so they no longer spray both sides of the vehicle. Only the driver’s side. I was paying $36 a month for the wash pass and my truck still comes out with mud on the step bar. When I asked for the other side to be sprayed I was rudely told I don’t have time for that there is a line. You will have to go through it again. Not sure why my time is less important… I already waited in line and I already knew there would be an issue with the mud and what the solution was. Going through twice would not have fixed that, I have already done that in the past.

This Business delivers Quality and a great wash service, changing the Car wash game across Michigan, great, fast and very practical, a quick in and Out and your car is all washed, and now they re adding air pressured cleaners and strong free vacuums so you can clean your car in and out, make sure you drop at their Carpenter location and check the new vacuums they have too, you can even clean your engine block.

Car don’t come out as clean as it should. Purchasing best wash and come out with dirt on it. Recently car wash has only one person with pressure washer only on the drivers side. It’s l”not like passengers side gets mud on it or gets dirty…. Quite disappointed of quality that went down. I guess like everything else, prices increase and quality goes down…

Worst experience ever. First the person waving me in provided no help in making sure I was lined up appropriately. Then, I thought I was putting my car in neutral and must have accidentally put it in reverse. I took my foot off the gas and must have not been in the track correctly because my car fell back and hit the person behind me.

Ok, so mistakes happen. Honestly, if they had handled this better, I wouldn’t be giving them one star. But then the person waving people in chewed me out. I went through the car wash and checked with the gentleman who’s car I backed into. Thankfully both our cars were fine. When I went to talk to the supervisor, the person who waved us in came and started yelling at me again.

Apparently this is the second time this has happened to the gentleman who’s car I bumped into. Accidentally switching into reverse should not result in an accident. And forget about customer service. Steer clear of this place!

    **Update May 2023**

Lighthouse has done some major upgrades to the parking lot and vacuums.

Vacuums are free between 8am and 5pm. There are now dual hoses on them with the traditional flat extension and also a crevice tool. There is also a place to clamp your floor mats.

I should also add that when you go through this wash, there are always two people spraying off the car. They spray with power washers then wipe the front and back of vehicles with big brushes before you go into the machine.

This is a well-established car wash that’s great for auto-washing or DIY.

They have 5 bays in back of the property where you can spray off your car yourself. It’s covered and costs about 2 bucks to start. They maintain their equipment pretty well so everything works great. In the bays they also have brushes and clamps to hold your floor mats.

If you want to do the auto wash, this one is a little better than the other auto washes in the area. Some of the employees have been there for years and they do a great job.

Hint: if you slip them a tip when you drive into the auto wash, they will usually spray your car off a little better.

Love that they replaced the vacuums with the new ones and it’s free!! They are upgrading the place, putting in kiosk to pay for the car wash, will definitely miss the human interaction, but time to upgrade and utilize the technologies

I used self service wash and first thing I noticed the water pressure was very low compared to other car wash I used in another places but I was most disappointed when there were no clothes to dry up the car. Now my car looks more dirtier then it was before wash.

The water is really wet here and has soap in it. So if you have your window rolled down have a rain jacket on and smile without teeth. Also have you eyes closed. If you eat a sandwich it might get soggy. And soapy. Then don’t eat it. Eat it before.

My car has lowered suspension, so minimum ground clearance is only 4 inches, but they clean my car okay!

Actually, most of time they done great job, but just sometimes, like only 20%, they don’t. When they are busy, they don’t clean my car perfectly especially wheels.

  1. Would give this place 5 stars but they almost NEVER clean underneath my SUV’s spoiler (except for one employee named Wyatt). What’s the point of their employees with the power washers that spray your car before the car wash? They can literally just spray beneath the spoiler but never do. I have actually called and complained about this before but still no training for their employees. I have a fast pass and come here multiple times a week. Wyatt (seems like a newer employee) is the ONLY employee I’ve had spray beneath the spoiler after over a year of coming here. Downgrading my membership this month because it doesn’t make sense to pay for their most premium tier membership just to be annoyed every time you leave the car wash. So much disappointment, time and time again.

Update: just went again and had the same issue.

  2. The Best carwash in Ann Arbor, 🙌🏻 Hands down, lovely staff and a super convenient procedure. This is my go to for my personal car and my family’s too 🙌🏻🙌🏻

  3. This car wash has one of the worst car wash experience I’ve ever had. Starting off the guy working there was trying tell me to pull forward I guess and I couldn’t see what he was doing with his hands if it was stop or pull forward which caused him to start cussing at me which is extremely unprofessional. Then the layout of the car wash/vacuuming area makes it to where if it’s full the time of day you go there are no spots to wait since they’re right when you come out of the car wash and there are only 6 vacuums. The only reason I’m giving this two-stars is that at least I got a good car wash but I won’t be going there again.

  4. I LOVE this place! I have a monthly membership which is about $35 (I believe I got the fancy membership and the lower tier is way less.)

It is a little lame in the winter to be missing out on those washes however I think it is made up ($$) by the warmer weather and being able to go more often.

The fast pass (when you have the monthly membership) lane is often empty or far shorter than the pay per wash lane. I tend to be able to go straight thru and don’t have to wait long.)

I think it would be awesome if they cut fees in the winter maybe by ⅓ or ½ to make up for the fewer opportunity’s to wash.

Free vacuuming membership or not is great, of course. BUT ellsworth is doing a major parking lot renovation and will have much more space.

The employees from the office have been helpful and kind as well. sad to be moving and leave this place.

  5. New vacuums and air to remove debris from tight spaces in your car! Amazing 👏🏽 they renovated the vacuum area with a new, easy to use system. And it’s free to customers who are getting a wash!
