3 months agoCostco self checkout has serious issues which significantly lower customer satisfaction. It says self checkout yet it has 6 registers but no scanner guns at each register. Instead there are a few associates who muscle their way into your checkout.
Solution: Each register should have a scanner gun attached for customer use. Associates are not need. Its SELF CHECKOUT!!
There were originally 2 sets of 3 registers each back to back. They changed the registers to be 2 sets of 3 facing one another. This created a small aisle which prevents customers from having carriages lined up for checkout by their register and still leaving room for other customers to get by with a carriage. There is also a large pole in the middle of the aisle further blocking things. solution: put the registers back as they were before or spread them apart further.
There is a person at the door to check the list of purchases against the ones in the carriage. Now there is an additional person at the end of the self checkout register area who has to count the # of items in your basket to compare it to your receipt. Solution: this is a waste of manpower and slows down checkout and customers. Get rid of it and let the guys at the exit door do their job!
Costco tells you that you can have your membership card stored on your smartphone. You can use it to scan at the register. Now when you are on the self checkout line you cant get to the register until you show your physical membership card to an associate so they can compare the picture on the card to your face. Solution: Seriously! They claim people are coming in with other peoples cards. Seriously! If they want to piss people off and get them to think about switching to BJ’s they are going about it the right way!!
The real thing that needs to be fixed here is Costco’s management team. They need to be fired!!!!!
a week agoTruly my favorite store to buy in bulk! Shout out to the Melville location! Clean store, well stocked and the staff is amazing! Plenty of parking. You get most of items in wholesale/large packets, which is good if your are shopping long term, additionally the savings are also good for wholesale items. Also, fun fact; this location featured big time lotto winners going back a few years!a year agoI visit this location to renew my bossiness executive card at this location after my workout session. I enjoy this location and take advantage of some great deals to buy some gym equipment for my personal gym and some security camera from one of new project plus an amazing outdoor chair that defeat gravity for my backyard. This my second visit at this location and I find some good selfhelp books plus some nonfiction and biographies books as well at very cheap price… The place immaculately clean and well organize. The parking lot is huge as well. I also at the end buy me a new set of tires for my car. I have top quality branding tires at a lower price. I am very happy for my purchase at this Costco location…a month agoEnd of workday and haven’t eaten. Wanted to buy a hotdog but didn’t have my card. Told to wait on line to verify my membership. Said I just wanted a hotdog. No deal. Rules are rules. Indeed they are.2 months agoThis is not our regular Costco stop, but our family have came to this location a few times while in the area. Almost every visit to this store was very unpleasant, the manager has been very cold and unprofessional. The cashier and the people standing in lines were rude and unprofessional. Avoid this Costco if you can. And the salad had a dead fly in it!!!!! Do not let this ruin your trip. Visit another Costco.

- Shop the center of the store first: When you enter Costco, you’ll typically find the fresh produce, bakery, and meat sections on the outer perimeter of the store. Start your trip by heading to the center aisles, as this is where you’ll find most of the non-perishable items and household essentials.
- Take advantage of the samples: Costco is famous for its free samples, so be sure to stroll through the sample stations and try some of the items. Not only is it a great way to discover new products, but it can also help curb your hunger while you shop.
- Use the Costco app or coupon book: Costco offers additional savings through their mobile app and coupon book. Before your trip, check for any available discounts or deals. This can help you save even more money on your purchases.
- Shop in bulk: One of the main reasons people shop at Costco is to buy in bulk. Take advantage of the large package sizes and stock up on items that you frequently use. This can help lower your overall grocery bill in the long run.
- Compare prices: While Costco is known for its low prices, it’s still a good idea to compare prices with other stores. Some items may be cheaper at Costco, while others may be more expensive. Doing a quick price check can ensure you’re getting the best deal.
- Don’t forget the return policy: Costco has a generous return policy, so if you’re ever dissatisfied with a purchase, don’t hesitate to return it. Keep your receipts handy and know the return policy, as this can provide peace of mind when trying new products.

Costco is always awesome. I love Costco and this one has amazing local items and amazing prices. Totally worth the membership and the staff are always friendly and helpful when you need to find something or need help grabbing something. So glad there is one near by
Great deals, great pharmacy, and great pizza to go! I come here at least every two weeks and they always have samples to try, there’s always something new. The staff are nice, the pharmacy is cheaper than elsewhere. The pizzas in the Concession area are a great deal as is everything delicious and inexpensive. Highly recommend!
Very pleasant and helpful staff. They seemed to enjoy their work, which says a lot in my book.
Found my friend’s favorite $85-95 wine for about $72. Not terribly busy for a Saturday afternoon. As usual, spent more than I expected, but again, as usual, found many great buys.
I did not purchase this fine goat at Costco, however I did purchase many other items quickly and was greeted and assisted by an extremely hospitable group of humans! Amazing selection, everything I desired was in stock and some of the best rotisserie chicken EVER! Hot dogs were up to par per usual!
So I love Costco and all the people that work there. But there was just an incident that I’m hoping to make them aware of. I would call but I’m so embarrassed. I went to their gas station for the first time and mind you I’ve lived in Albany and never had to pump my own gas before. Well I asked for 40 regular and she says “just so you know I can’t enter set amounts anymore” I was like “ugh” then she raised her voice and said “ you need to get out of your car and squeeze the handle because I have an entire island to run”. Putting aside her tone and the rudeness in which I was spoke to I got out of my car to do as she asked assuming I grab the handle and squeeze and it would click. It get to 40 and I’m squeezing but it’s not budging and she’s yelling at me “ you need to squeeze it” which is what I was doing. All the way to 53 dollars and no one helped me. A gentleman from the car behind me said “squeeze just the top part”. Then it finally clicked. All I’m saying is if I’m going to the attended side I’m assuming I’d get attended but that didn’t happen. Instead I embarrassed myself because I was never shown how to operate those thing ( which is my fault ) but I should have had someone show me the handle and how it operated before walking away. And I definitely shouldn’t have been yelled at or talked to like I was stupid. I wasn’t being rude I was being polite and trying to do what was asked of me. But I didn’t receive that in return and that kinda made me cry.
