I used to love Target and did most of my grocery shopping there. Unfortunately, Target recently became a place to avoid like the plague if you have a dog hair allergy, a fear of dogs or just don’t like the smell and sniffing behavior of dogs around you when you shop for groceries.
Today (July 25 2021 between 3pm and 3:30pm) I encountered a group of about 10 young women each with a fake service mutt roaming the store. About 5 of the dogs were pit bulls, one German Shepard, one Golden Retriever and the rest some other large breed.
A few weeks ago I saw two women on two different days with small dogs in the shopping cart, wearing fake service vests. One of them had a miniature dachshound and told me that this were her emotional support dog. I complained to an employee and she gave me a number to call and discuss the issue with the headquarter. I did call this number and it turned out, that the Target representative was under the false impression that emotional support dogs were service animals, and that the law would force Target to allow dogs with service vests in the store.
It’s so sad that some individuals use privileges that are in place for people with severe disabilities who depend on a real service dog.
Update July 2022:
I didn’t see dogs inside Target for a long time. They must have changed their policy. Now Target is one of my favorite grocery stores again! The only issue I have is the waiting time at check out.
3:30 pm I stopped in on my errands today and used a gift card up so I didn’t have to carry it around anymore. I was overcharhes by $5. I paid the $5, then when I realized it I asked for a refund. The woman at service desk would not give me my cash back and put it on a gift card, she was also not in uniform or name tag.. Now im stuck with another damn gift card. They should have someone working that knows what they’re doing.
My first time using curb side service with Target and they didn’t disappoint. The associate that brought out my items was very pleasant, my wait time was a few minutes and we were on our way!
Target in Shreveport is always clean, well stocked and the associates are friendly and helpful. I have never had a bad experience! Target is my Happy Place!!
Due to migraines, I have to keep caffeine out of my diet. I can always count on Target to have a great variety of decaffeinated coffee to choose from. Today I found Vanilla, Hazlenut AND Pumpkin Spice decaffeinated coffees! Trust me, this was a score!!!
