A Comprehensive Guide to Using a Self-Service Car Wash

Using a self-service car wash can be a simple and cost-effective way to clean your vehicle. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to use a self-service car wash:

  1. Locate a Self-Service Car Wash: Use search engines or apps to find a nearby self-service car wash station.
  2. Prepare Your Vehicle: Remove any personal belongings, trash, or loose objects from the car’s exterior.
  3. Choose Your Service: Most self-service car washes offer different cleaning options, like soap, rinse, wax, etc. You may need to insert coins, bills, or a credit/debit card to select the desired service.
  4. Pre-Rinse: Before applying soap, use the high-pressure rinse to remove loose dirt and debris.
  5. Apply Soap: Select the soap option and use the wand to spray your car. Start from the top and work your way down, covering all areas.
  6. Scrub if Necessary: Some stations provide a foam brush. You can scrub your car to remove stubborn dirt. Be gentle to avoid scratching your car’s paint.
  7. Rinse: After scrubbing, choose the rinse option to wash away the soap. Again, start from the top and work your way down.
  8. Wax (Optional): Some self-service car washes offer a wax option. Apply this if you want a protective coating on your vehicle.
  9. Dry Your Vehicle: Use the provided air dryer or a microfiber towel to dry your car. Drying by hand can prevent water spots.
  10. Vacuum Interior (Optional): Some locations have vacuum stations to clean your car’s interior. Insert coins or pay as required.
  11. Inspect Your Vehicle: Do a final walk-around to ensure all areas are clean and to your satisfaction.
  12. Follow Safety Guidelines: Always adhere to the instructions and warnings provided at the car wash station. Wear appropriate clothing, and be mindful of slippery floors.
  13. Leave the Bay Clean: If there’s a trash can, dispose of any garbage. Put away any provided tools like brushes back where they belong.
  14. Exit Promptly: Be mindful of others waiting and exit the wash bay in a timely manner.

Remember, every self-service car wash might have slightly different equipment and procedures, so take a moment to read any posted instructions or ask for assistance if needed. Self-service car washes are typically open 24/7 and can be a convenient way to maintain your car’s appearance.

This car wash is the best! The owner is kind and it’s always available. I don’t go to any other car wash. I’ve had no issues anytime I’ve been here. I highly recommend this place 👏 Thanks for the great service!

Took a weekend trip to San Diego and back and had a ton of dried bugs on the front of my car that a regular automatic car wash wouldn’t be able to remove.
I brought it here and power-sprayed it down myself, all the bugs and grossness came right off.
It’s always pretty steady and busy here, so if you’re in a rush, plan ahead. Great services and prices!
I also like that the owner takes pride in his business and always keeps everything well-maintained, and the area clean.

I’ve had great experiences at this car wash. I like that it’s always open so you can go early in the morning or late in the evening to beat the heat. The previous car wash that I went to had a conveyor belt and it damaged my reverse camera and the sensor on my trunk. I like that there is no conveyor belt on the automated car wash and you also have a do it yourself option.

Reasonable prices. They get a lot of business, so there is often a wait for the auto car wash of ten to fifteen minutes. You need to get Deluxe to remove the tougher dirt. Very convenient. Self-serve wash and vacuum are available.

Older car wash that still uses quarters for some services. I ran my truck through the “touch-less” wash and while it did a pretty good job cleaning, it took quite a long time compared to newer car wash systems. Dryer did not do a good job. Went to vacuum my truck and had to exchange dollar bill for 4 quarters for 4 minutes of vacuum time. Not enough time for larger vehicle. Overall, a nice clean facility and everything seemed to work fine but I have gotten used to newer facilities with free vacuums and free dry towels.

$8 for a car wash that left my car dirty. So much soap is used yet the entire back of my car is still gross. Go to a diff place.
The bays were also littered with car parts and trash.

This car wash is pretty good. I’m glad it is only water and not those darn flapper-slappers that scratch up your car. The dry cycle could be a bit longer to allow better drying.

Had some trouble getting it going . Once it accepts your payment & you drive up to it, better make sure your windows closed, I was still putting my card away & the water came fast into my car! Just a FYI, otherwise I think it’s good. Less expensive than others I’ve used.

The prices for the lazerwash were pretty reasonable but my only issue was that it did not do a good job of cleaning the hood of my SUV and the prewash wheel cleaners were a little aggressive.

People come here just to hang out and blast music. I would rather just go through a 3 minute auto wash then have to deal with possibly getting jumped by some gangsters who love cars that go “BOOM”. Hostile and unmonitored environment, would not recommend.

  1. I use this cobblestone Auto spa to wash my car weekly. It is my favorite cobblestone Auto spa because it does not have the bars for your cars tire. it’s a flat surface that takes your car through the wash which I like especially if your car is a little bit to lower to the ground. The price has been going up at this car wash when we first went to the car wash there it was $4 for the wash now it’s $7 for your basic light wash which is all I use to wash my car. The vacuums are powerful at the car wash. I highly recommend this cobblestone even with the continued price increases in the basic wash. My opinion this is the best car wash in Chandler Gilbert that is self-serve. On Saturdays and Sundays it’s pretty busy. Again I highly recommend this car wash.

  2. Went to this car wash 🧼 a week ago. Upon pulling out noticed that the machine damaged my car. The machine basically ripped off the windshield wiper on my back windshield. Went to go talk to a manager manager was not on site. The staff did not know proper protocol on how to write a report. Wrote a report on a dirty looseleaf paper. And told me that someone will be reaching out to me. It has been over a week. I have stop by consistently every day every day I’m told a different story with no follow up. one of the days that I stop by I spoke to a manager and she informed me that I was not allowed to watch the videos because that was private footage and it was only to be shown to staff and that I should not have recorded the incident on my phone and was questioning me as to who let me watch the videos. I just purchase his car and it said that my car is damaged within a few days of ownership. All I want is my car to be repaired. I watch the video with the staff and clearly showed in a video that the machine ripped off the windshield wiper total cost to repair for this is going to be about all $300 at Volvo for a $20 wash this car washes turn into a nightmare. I don’t recommend using this car wash because if in fact, your car is damaged, there will be no follow up from anyone or anyone to contact and you’ll be stuck with the bill. I will follow up to let the results know as to it or not they will cover this bill, but as it stands right now, I’ve heard from no one.

  3. First hand experience of this location overcrowding the track. They need to allow more space between cars and drivers give the car in front of you time to get ahead before entering the tracks to avoid these situations. See picture of the vehicle behind me colliding with the rear of my vehicle.

  4. One of the worst locations in the Cobblestone chain.
    1. Personnel space the cars too close together in the tunnel, a common problem at most Cobblestones, however see #2 to see why this is an even bigger problem here.
    2. The beginning of this tunnel has a defect that lunges your vehicle forward until settling in position, which combined with problem 1 caused my vehicle to try to hit the vehicle in front, only prevented by my hitting the brakes to stop my vehicle from rolling forward. Sure enough, the vehicle behind me also lunged forward and ended up uncomfortably close to the back of mine.
    3. This tunnel has another defect that causes the tires to come out brown instead of black like they do at their other locations. See the photo.

The brown tires combined with the risk of being hit in the tunnel are why I will not return to this location. I tried to address these issues with the lady in the office but she was disinterested.

  5. I like that this branch has a conveyor belt that is easy to get on to; no rails and nothing grabs the tires. They provide little trash bags and disposable wipes for cleaning, but they were moved to right before the wash tunnel… Before they were further back. I would rather have the disposable wipes and trash bags where they used to be; or in the vacuum area. Then you wouldn’t be rushed to make sure your window was fully closed before entering the tunnel.
