A Comprehensive Guide to Using a Self-Service Car Wash

Using a self-service car wash can be a simple and cost-effective way to clean your vehicle. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to use a self-service car wash:

  1. Locate a Self-Service Car Wash: Use search engines or apps to find a nearby self-service car wash station.
  2. Prepare Your Vehicle: Remove any personal belongings, trash, or loose objects from the car’s exterior.
  3. Choose Your Service: Most self-service car washes offer different cleaning options, like soap, rinse, wax, etc. You may need to insert coins, bills, or a credit/debit card to select the desired service.
  4. Pre-Rinse: Before applying soap, use the high-pressure rinse to remove loose dirt and debris.
  5. Apply Soap: Select the soap option and use the wand to spray your car. Start from the top and work your way down, covering all areas.
  6. Scrub if Necessary: Some stations provide a foam brush. You can scrub your car to remove stubborn dirt. Be gentle to avoid scratching your car’s paint.
  7. Rinse: After scrubbing, choose the rinse option to wash away the soap. Again, start from the top and work your way down.
  8. Wax (Optional): Some self-service car washes offer a wax option. Apply this if you want a protective coating on your vehicle.
  9. Dry Your Vehicle: Use the provided air dryer or a microfiber towel to dry your car. Drying by hand can prevent water spots.
  10. Vacuum Interior (Optional): Some locations have vacuum stations to clean your car’s interior. Insert coins or pay as required.
  11. Inspect Your Vehicle: Do a final walk-around to ensure all areas are clean and to your satisfaction.
  12. Follow Safety Guidelines: Always adhere to the instructions and warnings provided at the car wash station. Wear appropriate clothing, and be mindful of slippery floors.
  13. Leave the Bay Clean: If there’s a trash can, dispose of any garbage. Put away any provided tools like brushes back where they belong.
  14. Exit Promptly: Be mindful of others waiting and exit the wash bay in a timely manner.

Remember, every self-service car wash might have slightly different equipment and procedures, so take a moment to read any posted instructions or ask for assistance if needed. Self-service car washes are typically open 24/7 and can be a convenient way to maintain your car’s appearance.

Pretty good wash but not outstanding. When I pulled into the wash bay I found it difficult to know where to land. Not very intuitive in my opinion. Anyway, it was fair and got most of the bugs off.

The overall wash doesn’t do the best even when purchasing the highest grade carwash and for the price of almost 15$ you’d think it would adequately clean the outside of my vehicle better. My car was not very dirty to begin with just a lot of salt from the snow so wanted to wash it all off, the foam is nice they have good foam soaps and waxes but the pressure for under carriage wash does not do a good job I still had so much snow and ice in my wheel wells and under carriage I stopped outside the carwash to knock all the left over snow and ice down from under the car. I think they could do better for under washing pressure but overall they got the car clean on top and looked nice and waxy.

This ended up being a total random stop but I guess only car wash that is open in the middle of winter when the temperatures are below zero. So I decided to get a car wash and they do offer both soft touch and touch free. Everything is drivethrough with no attendants. Came to know I might get a discount if filling gas on the other side of the street. They always seems to run promotions so better to check at store before driving through the car wash.

Decent car wash. There’s always at least one lane out of order here, and hit or miss whether you’ll actually get all 3 colors of soap.

Update: the last few times I’ve been here I’ve only gotten one color of soap, maybe there isn’t even 3 colors anymore?!

Multipul experience with this car wash.. did not clean my truck, I had dirt patches all over, and missed back of tailgate…I always buy the ultimate wash and many times it has skipped pre wash and or the multi color waxing cycle. No garbage cans so you can’t clean out your vehicle, and Expensive!!

    I love Do-it-yourself car washes
This is by FAR the best one up in the Lakes Area
It’s $5 to start – but the SOAP and BUG remover – all of it – switches through the spray gun FAST so you don’t waste time.
I’ll be a repeat for suuure

Quick and top rate service. Yes, you might pay more than Jiffy or Valvoline but they’re local and do a better job. Their customer service is top notch too. I went to them for an oil change but they couldn’t get the filter off without damaging it, previous place put it on too tight, you’re only supposed to hand tighten oil filters for just this reason. They already drained the oil but couldn’t finish the job. What’d they do? Filled the oil and recommend I go to the previous place to have it fixed. The cost for their time and fresh oil? Not a dime. Although they put in the work and fresh oil, they didn’t charge me because they couldn’t finish the job. Love the integrity and honesty. They have a customer for life! Love this place!

Fantastic pay and spray car wash. The high pressure soap foams real well and neutralizes road grime. Card reader for easy payment. $1/minute runtime

A bit more spendy than I’m used to. Usually, it cast me $80 for an oil change at the most. However, your place cost me over $120 with no extras and its not my truck. You guys do have friendly service.

I used to come here for quite a few years for my oil changes until they lied to my face about the Toyota professionals doing it wrong.

  1. Got the membership and loved this place until about my 10th time through. Found scratches all over the hood of my truck that is only a couple month old. Went in and told them about it and they were courteous and helpful about filing a report. I wasn’t mad, just bummed… That is until today, my claim was denied in a somewhat rude email from corporate and what they had to say made me more upset than the scratches themselves. Never again, don’t go here. It’s overpriced anyways.

  2. Since opening, vacuums don’t work, no towels and when we spoke with employees about the lack of service they asked if we wanted to cancel our memberships, but not fix the issues. We have tried contacting corporate, but recorded message always says – call back and no reps available. We will be canceling two memberships and going elsewhere.

  3. This place use to be great! My car was very clean and there was 2 people who sprayed your car. Now, if there are 2 people spraying they do a laxidiasical job! The “newer” Zips, near Walmart doesn’t have anyone spraying at all. If you go here go to the older Zips. FREE Vaccuums though. 🤷‍♀️

  4. Cancelled my membership on 6/7/23, but was charged on 6/27/23 anyways. After a drawn out interaction with support they refused to refund. Poor customer experience. Will not be a returning.

  5. Great car wash! Love the unlimited plan so I can go all the time to get the dirt and bugs off my car. Also like that I can clean my car mats and free vacuums.
