A Comprehensive Guide to Using a Self-Service Car Wash

Using a self-service car wash can be a simple and cost-effective way to clean your vehicle. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to use a self-service car wash:

  1. Locate a Self-Service Car Wash: Use search engines or apps to find a nearby self-service car wash station.
  2. Prepare Your Vehicle: Remove any personal belongings, trash, or loose objects from the car’s exterior.
  3. Choose Your Service: Most self-service car washes offer different cleaning options, like soap, rinse, wax, etc. You may need to insert coins, bills, or a credit/debit card to select the desired service.
  4. Pre-Rinse: Before applying soap, use the high-pressure rinse to remove loose dirt and debris.
  5. Apply Soap: Select the soap option and use the wand to spray your car. Start from the top and work your way down, covering all areas.
  6. Scrub if Necessary: Some stations provide a foam brush. You can scrub your car to remove stubborn dirt. Be gentle to avoid scratching your car’s paint.
  7. Rinse: After scrubbing, choose the rinse option to wash away the soap. Again, start from the top and work your way down.
  8. Wax (Optional): Some self-service car washes offer a wax option. Apply this if you want a protective coating on your vehicle.
  9. Dry Your Vehicle: Use the provided air dryer or a microfiber towel to dry your car. Drying by hand can prevent water spots.
  10. Vacuum Interior (Optional): Some locations have vacuum stations to clean your car’s interior. Insert coins or pay as required.
  11. Inspect Your Vehicle: Do a final walk-around to ensure all areas are clean and to your satisfaction.
  12. Follow Safety Guidelines: Always adhere to the instructions and warnings provided at the car wash station. Wear appropriate clothing, and be mindful of slippery floors.
  13. Leave the Bay Clean: If there’s a trash can, dispose of any garbage. Put away any provided tools like brushes back where they belong.
  14. Exit Promptly: Be mindful of others waiting and exit the wash bay in a timely manner.

Remember, every self-service car wash might have slightly different equipment and procedures, so take a moment to read any posted instructions or ask for assistance if needed. Self-service car washes are typically open 24/7 and can be a convenient way to maintain your car’s appearance.

Nice car wash. Psychedelic colors whe you use the automatic washer. Keeps you entertained. I’ll go back.

Awesome car wash with 5 self wash ports and 2 automatic washing ports. I personally have never used the automatic one so I can’t attest to its effectiveness. The self wash stations are great with active employees maintaining the equipment. All that and the 5+ free vacuum spots make this buttes best car wash.

I like that you can turn the car wash on with your credit card. The wash bays themselves are nice and large. As many different options for cleaning products and waxes as you would ever need.

Very nice car wash. Clean bays for the self serve side. The drive through bays are always busy, even though I don’t use them have heard great things about the drive through.

Easy self service car wash, it took me a bit to get the hang of how to work it. Make sure you bring quarters, I tried using my credit card without luck, I’ll be sure to check my statement to make sure it didn’t charge me anything. Thankfully, I had quarters, which work pretty well. It takes at least a dollar to start it, which gets you a minute and 28 seconds. I have a big cargo van and it took me about 8 minutes to get a decent wash and scrub the bugs of the front from my recent road trip. The water pressure is good and they have one self service wash that is taller and can accommodate up to 11 feet clearance.

Stopped here twice on our way through Montana! Great pressure to get all the bugs off the front of the car, and cheaper than we thought for the time it took to get the car back in shape. Had no issues with using our card at the bay, as we didn’t have any quarters available; however, they do have a machine to get change if necessary. They have a vending machine for cleaning supplies and air fresheners for inside your car, and vacuums in the back as well!

I have used this car wash numerous times and just discovered I have been charged $10 at least twice. The most recent time I happen to catch the next day and know the meter read $5.50. Buyer beware.

Car was covered by grasshoppers on front end. Used presoak, brush, then rinse. Clean! Pressure was a lot better than in Spokane!

  1. The automatic car wash was a step above! 2 workers pre-spray each side while you enter the wash. 2 workers hand dry each side while you exit the wash. Best wash ever!

  2. I love the vacuums here car wash messed up my car for a while. Put it in limp mode so I couldn’t really drive it until it deactivated.

  3. Paid for the most expensive car wash, because I knew my car needed it. There is still dirt on my car, it stopped half way through and I didn’t get half of the things I paid for in the car wash (I have gone here three other times so I’m aware of what should happen). The girl spraying my car before I went in hit my car SEVERAL times with the washing tool, and didn’t even get the other side of my car.

I seriously will never be back. $21 and I still have dirt on my car.

  4. Love it. I got the membership and because I I know I’m going to wash my car often enough and it’s just great to be able to go down there and it’s got the free vacuums and you can wipe it all down and do everything you need to with your car and then get it washed.

  5. Upside, it was fast, hence the name The Tornado 😂 and the towel dryer guys were faster.😂
Downside, can’t see paying $15 for a car wash and that was the cheapest one. I’ll stick to a rag and a garden hose 😊
