4 months agoLocation, great. Staff, decent. Products, great. Bathroom? Grooossssss!! For this area you would expect a tidy bathroom and this is the total opposite. Open beer can, paper everywhere, no paper towels and it smelled terrible. I’ve never seen a Target bathroom so disgusting!!! The lines were all long but they moved fairly quickly.4 months agoRegarding my shopping experience last night, 4/28/2023 I was very disturbed and about what I’d encountered. Evidently this location would prefer to profile and resort to sending security to follow me – a young black man (23 yrs old) 👍🏾 shopping, trying to locate the appropriate lane to find the items needed vs. offering customer service to assist me with my search. If reading signs results in being followed – this will no longer be a place to shop for me and my family. I’ve been going here for a long time – perhaps ever since their grand opening. And now it seems each time I go security follows me! At least the floor reps informed me about the profiling actions of the Target security staff. (BTW – I was looking for siracha. Not a single employee took a sec to ask if i needed help, not even the 3 people following me. One would think if they’re watching you and see a lost guy they’d offer to help…go figure 😂😂😂!!!)2 weeks agoVery nice place to shop it has everything you need, also very clean and not that crowded!5 months agoI went in for a return and ended picking up a few items, there were only 2 check stands open and each were moving extremely slow even though the lines weren’t long. Then I decide to go to self check out, where of course people are having issues too. I finish checking out and have one item with a security device, the woman working self check out had been helping the same customer since I was in line so I asked if she could take the device off. The lady told me I had to wait until she was done with the customer, so I went over to the Starbucks because obviously she wasn’t gonna be done anytime soon. I received my drink and she still wasn’t available. This was definitely my worst experience at this location.4 months agoThis location used to be a clean, safe, and great store. I didn’t see enough staff on the floor at the different departments and lots of security at the exit, but just enjoying their amusing conversation.

10 months agoBeen to this Target half a dozen and rarely walk away with anything I come in for. They are often out of stock, especially in the clothing department, leaving only one size or variety. Today, I called four times with no answer, so I came in looking for a hot glue gun. To my surprise, there were two, surrounded by empty slots where the glue would be, if in stock. Staff is helpful enough, not bad, not great. I’m sure it’s exhausting to tell people their product is out of stock all the time. There’s seemingly more security than team members, to which I suggest hiring people qualified to order so security actually has assets to protect. Til then, it’s a waste of labor as a business and a waste of a trip as a guest.a year agoThis location feels designed specifically for local residents within walking distance who only use self-checkout. If you’re not in that category, I’d avoid visiting this location and drive a little bit west to Emeryville instead where they have free parking. This Broadway Target has a paid parking lot shared by the other residents of their building (it’s located on the first floor of a larger structure) or metered street parking. During my visit, I saw they had a sale on beer, so I decided to pick some up… Only problem? They have no checkout lanes here! There is one small corner with a handful of self-checkout registers, but you can’t buy alcohol at the self-checkout. Instead, I had to wait in a long line at the return counter! I was flabbergasted. I mean, I get that they don’t have the floor space for a dozen checkout lanes in this location, but this is far from the experience I’ve come to expect from other Targets, that’s for sure. They had all the things I needed in stock, but due to the parking and checkout experience I don’t think I’ll ever be back to this location.a month agoI would recommend coming here unless it’s a last resort. You can’t get service whatsoever, making it unlikely that you’ll get help collecting items from locked-up sections. It’s so poorly managed that you’re better off ordering from Amazon or going to the nearby Sprouts.4 months agoThis Target has made it almost impossible to shop. So many things are locked up behind glass doors that require people to open them…people that aren’t there because it is insanely understaffed. I know you’re trying to prevent shoplifting but honestly, this just makes me want to do all of my shopping online and not at your store.3 years agoToday, Oct 19, was their first day to open (officially was supposed to open tomorrow). We visited at about 4PM and it’s NICE! Spacious, clean, 3 levels, LOTS of inventory. This is not a mini Target, it’s at least 75% the size of the Target in Alameda or Emeryville. There are 3 floors, well organized, with wide stairs, ramps etc. Looking forward to going here over the holidays and not driving to Alameda or Emeryville anymore.Great to have a Target near Lake Merritt/Uptown area for online order with free store pick up option (avoid package theft). A lot of food items too for convenience. Be sure to use the Target app for extra savings (“Target Circle” deals/offers, which was formerly called Cartwheel offers).
Current deals showing in the Target app – 50% off on select costumes. $5 off $25 spent on Halloween candy. $5 Target gift card if spend $20 on makeup, accessories, etc. Save up to $20 on AirPods. $25 Target gift card when you buy Nintendo Switch. 20% off Hasbro games (board game night!). Buy 1 get 1 50% off women’s boots. 20% off on lighting/lamps. More on the app 🙂

I’ve been coming to this store for years because it was the closest to my house… but never again. Recently I made a trip to get some more shampoo and discovered that ALL of their shelves are now locked behind glass. Virtually everything I would go there to buy now requires employee assistance just to pick up off the shelf. If you want me to stop shopping at your store, this is exactly what to do! Even laundry detergent is behind glass. I’ve never seen anything so ridiculous in my life.
Aisle after aisle of locked products with a lack enough staff with keys. You’ll here the echo of radios chirp, “service requested in aisle 2, who is responding?… 15 seconds remaining… Service level exceeded.”
I’ll pay extra and shop online and have Amazon deliver it just so I don’t have to wait at this Target, again.
Tonight I arrived at 9:57 to get an item that is at the register and the doors were locked. The manager who locked the front door said sorry were closed. I then showed him the time which was 9:58 not 10:00 and he tells me that the registers were already closed. I reiterated that i am literally getting 1 item at the register after putting out that there is a customer in view that was checking out at the register. I couldn’t have been nicer to him despite him blatantly lying to me. This occurred at the Emeryville target. White guy with beard and a to small tucked in red shirt.
The store having English-speaking help today compare the past where it seem I walked into little Mexico. I have no problem with Hispanic community. The store in prominently Black and white community. I thought Target was hiring a lot illegals I guess for cheap labor
Yesterday, I went into Emeryville’s target where I shop pretty frequently and usually there’s the typical atmosphere of a target, y’know? People that don’t really wanna be there but put on their best smiles and force greetings and professionalism to secure the bag 😂 (get paid). However Harley who works at Starbucks completely blew my mind and left me with the most fulfilling and satisfying experience I’ve had with most individuals working in retail business. It was immediately obvious that Harley has no affectation in her nature. I truly appreciate Harley enough to type this review because most jobs I’ve worked, including this same Target, they train us to be able to notice the people we help as individuals and try your best to address them in a culturally appropriate manner but being ghetto and crazy as I am and raised the way I was raised and around the people I was around, that’d be hard to find in any professional environment 😅😂 however Harley found a perfect balance of being an upstanding professional associate and also being a genuine individual and providing excellent customer service. Working as both a cart attendant and a cashier in Emeryville’s target for a few years all together adding all three of the times I worked there.. I got to see who is entering and shopping…. A whole lot of Oakland natives like myself and I would gamble a big pot that I speak for us all when I say we need more Harley’s and not because she was capable of addressing me in a way I liked but because she demonstrated she’s CAPABLE of addressing people as individuals versus treating everyone with the same fake attitude and forced professionalism.
