Key Factors for the Best Gyms for Families

When considering the best gyms for families, there are several factors to keep in mind. Here are key aspects that make a gym family-friendly:

  1. Family-Focused Programs: The best gyms for families often offer programs and activities that cater to all age groups, from children to adults. Look for gyms that provide family fitness classes, parent-child workouts, or specialized activities designed for kids, such as sports leagues or swimming lessons.
  2. Childcare Services: A family-friendly gym should have reliable and safe childcare services available on-site. This allows parents to work out while their children are supervised by trained staff in a stimulating and secure environment.
  3. Family Memberships: Gyms that offer affordable and flexible family membership options make it easier for the whole family to join and participate. Look for gyms that provide discounted rates or customized membership packages for families to encourage everyone’s involvement.
  4. Variety of Fitness Options: The best gyms for families provide a wide range of fitness options to accommodate different interests and fitness levels. This may include cardio equipment, strength training areas, group fitness classes, swimming pools, indoor or outdoor sports facilities, and even recreational activities like rock climbing or trampolining.
  5. Kid-Friendly Amenities: Family-friendly gyms often have amenities that cater to children’s needs. This may include dedicated play areas, kids’ fitness equipment, family changing rooms, or accessible restroom facilities. These features create a welcoming environment for families with young children.
  6. Educational Programs: Gyms that offer educational programs related to health, nutrition, and overall wellness can benefit families. Look for gyms that provide workshops, seminars, or resources on topics like healthy eating, child development, or family-oriented fitness tips.
  7. Safe and Clean Environment: Maintaining a safe and clean environment is crucial for family-oriented gyms. This includes regular equipment maintenance, adequate safety measures, proper sanitation practices, and attentive staff to ensure the well-being of all family members.
  8. Family Events and Activities: Engaging families through special events and activities helps create a sense of community within the gym. Look for gyms that organize family-friendly events like fitness challenges, holiday-themed activities, or outdoor picnics to foster social connections among families.
  9. Convenient Hours and Locations: Family-friendly gyms should have convenient operating hours and accessible locations. This allows family members to fit workouts into their schedules more easily, making it feasible for everyone to participate in fitness activities.
  10. Positive Reviews and Testimonials: Before choosing a gym for your family, consider reading reviews or testimonials from other families who are members. Their experiences can provide valuable insights into the gym’s family-friendly atmosphere, services, and overall suitability.

Remember, the best gym for families will depend on individual preferences, the specific needs of your family members, and your budget. It’s important to visit potential gyms, ask for trial memberships or tours, and assess how well they align with your family’s requirements before making a decision.

Javier and I have been working with improvements in my balance, flexibility and strength. Being in my 70’s, progress was initially slow, but even my posture has significantly improved during my exercise and development programs. Physical movements, stability and stamina have been extended with the workout training designed and successfully implemented by Javier. It has been a pleasure to work with Javier on my fitness, overall strength and conditioning.

Their “deals” to sign up for cheaper sound intriguing but when you actually show up they tell you that you will be charged 25 for the monthly fee and in order to avoid any charges you have to cancel the same day you sign up, conveniently enough you cant cancel your membership in person and instead give you a phone number to call to cancel your membership that takes you to a automated machine that wont work, but of course all the sudden theres a website you make an account on to cancel your membership. Staff seems to be on all different levels and this will only happen to you if your unlucky with a staff member with low experience

Been working with a personal trainer Javier since the end of January. Since then I’ve gone from 251 lbs to 236 lbs. Been really pleased with the service, workouts, and meal plan from him. As for the gym itself, it has everything you need to get a solid workout in. There are much more expensive gyms with more amenities but for less than $25 a month, this place has all the essentials. Also the staff is really friendly and I always appreciate the acknowledgement they give me every time I enter or leave.

After 2 years of staying away from this place, I come back to find it the same. Trainers promise you things and offer a great sounding gym with all the amenities. They never mention the $50 annual fee they charge you for until it surprises your bank account. I already knew about the fee, so I didn’t bother to bring it up during signing up. I was only going to get 3 memberships, but the trainer convinced me to do the 4th, and he would add the amenities. Now, signed up, 3 of my memberships aren’t allowed to use the classes he said they could. They can’t even use the massage chairs… ? The classes at 5 am. are sometimes canceled! And the sauna is never on! It’s so disappointing to be a member of something you pay so much for that you can’t even enjoy. That doesn’t serve its purposes. The sauna should be open for every member to enjoy, including the ones there at 5 AM. DON’T GET A MEMBERSHIP HERE IT’S LIKE BUYING SOMETHING BROKEN.

I’ve been a member of Gold’s Anaheim since they opened. During this time, I’ve always had a personal trainer, most were very good. I’ve been training with Javier since December of 2021. I have seen the best results during my training with Javier. He’s dedicated to his clients & their success. He tailors his training sessions to each client & their needs. As I saw results, he pushed me to do more, which allowed me to see more results. Then he convinced me that adding nutrition & better eating habits would give me even better results while eating more foods.
Sometimes I think that Javier is more proud of my successes than I am. I’m very happy with my training, the increase in strength & mobility & weight loss. I’m 72 years old and I didn’t want a rapid weight loss, because I wanted to lose it slowly by changing my life style, which I hope will become habits for life.
Javier even has my husband coming more often for training. We are both happy.
I would recommend Javier to anyone that needs a trainer. He’s dedicated to the field & this is his career choice not a just a job.

I have been a member for over 5 years. I finally cancelled my membership. Managers are all fake here. Fake smile and do not care. Machines are always broken and showers have cold water and shower heads are always missing. What caused me to cancel my membership was I got a late fee charge of $25 and I never get charged that since I have huge credit limit. I asked her to reverse the late charge since perhaps credit card expired or something. She said I don’t know but you have to pay. Her lack of caring caused me to call it quits.

For 10.00 a month it’s fine. I don’t go very often due to my personal schedule, but when I do, it’s always fairly busy (unless you’re there right at opening).
The equipment is a 7/10 (it’s clean and it works, but it’s nothing to write home about).
There is no sauna in the locker rooms, which is a bummer, but I believe that’s normal for a planet fittness.
The staff is usually very friendly, so that’s a big plus. My interactions have always been pleasant.
All in all, you get what you pay for, so this is fine for a budget gym.

The televisions don’t connect to sound, there is basically NO hot water at night. It’s pretty small. Workers are rude. If they know there is no hot water they should give you a heads up. Worst one I’ve been to I’ll drive an extra 10 minutes to go to a better PF.

  1. Huge and different equipment options. Pool, sauna and steam bath is there as well and to cap it up with the hydro massage at the end of your workout, is so amazing.

  2. Thank you First of All my first time at Anaheim California Location i got my tour and was showed were and how i could use my premium membership place was above and beyond, the Teamwork that Chuze fitness has is that great greetings and smile they give you as you arrive to Chuze… I thank you from heart 💝 felt welcomed

  3. I’ve been to this location several times now, so far so good. I went midweek, morning and afternoons, not too crowded and people were cycling through their machines fairly quick. The locker room shower/changing areas get really busy and slippery. They have a smoothie bar which can be nice little boost. The parking lot on the other hand, can get packed due to the Walmart next door.

  4. Great Gym! Clean, fully stocked, friendly staff.. even during peak hour you can get a good workout

  5. This is by far the best gym. They have great equipment and amazing amenities. The staff is always so friendly and welcoming. I’ve been to other gyms but nothing compares to the Chuze environment. Thanks for being the best Chuze 🙂
