this racist lady working in the makeup department needs to get fired. she lacks good communication skills, practically whispers and mumbles and expects you to hear her perfectly and then gets mad and gives you attitude when you don’t. overall just a rude employee

It is very fully stock and very clean. Very organized as well. Used self checkout, line moved fast, all machines worked. So, far best Walmart as of now in Bakersfield.

The employees are fine, they’re just doing their job but this is not a safe parking lot to be in, especially alone or while you are distracted (with kids, loading groceries etc). This walmart is now mostly self checkout with the exception of maybe 3 tellers.

Wow. Whomever is in charge of managing this store should be ashamed of themselves. Even by Wal-Mart’s standards, this place is horribly run. The majority of the store is a shambles. Sure, partly from the customers rummaging through shelves and not replacing items. But, the lack of organization is astounding. You would think they’d have multiple dozens of staff members and stockpeople whose whole job–oh, wait. They certainly do. Unfortunately, a solid 30-40% of the employees you see are either standing around looking at their phones or hurriedly walking back and forth trying to look busy. Meanwhile, at the registers (yeah, you know this one is coming)…..12 cash registers open, 3 cashiers, and at LEAST a dozen employees “assigned” to staff the self-checkout lanes. Half of them are joking around or on their phones as well. Theres no urgency in ANY of these employees, not the ones I saw today, at least. I asked who the lead was today, and a woman (won’t say her name, no need for that) approached saying she was. I gestured towards the registers at the probably 30 people waiting in like at 3 open registers and asked if she was seeing it. She said she did. I asked why some of the people in a 20′ radius from where we were standing at self-checkout (I’d finally grown tired of waiting after 30 minutes and decided to check out myself to the tune of a few hundred dollars’ worth of merchandise) were just standing around and not helping, and she replied, “Well, just because they’re here doesn’t mean they’re register-trained”. I oversee almost 70 people myself. It’s not easy, it can be fairly challenging. But if I had people sitting around, I’d be CROSS-TRAINING THEM IN ORDER TO HAVE A MORE WELL-ROUNDED TEAM THAT CAN ASSIST DURING PEAK HOURS AND KEEP THE CUSTOMERS MOVING AND HAPPY. Oh, and having been Wal-Mart employee myself years ago, I’m aware of how the in-store operations run (albeit, not an expert). Mind you, I worked at a well-run store and our manager certainly kept things running smoothly. TLDR: If you need groceries, go literally ANYwhere else. If you need other goods, shop on Amazon. Places like these are part of why brick-and-mortar stores are becoming archaic.

All I have to say is self check option is the best thing that’s happened to Walmart. Just consider me as one happy customer ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Bad service, 40 minutes have not got my order on the curbside pickup. Employees walking around with literally no bags in there hands back and forth. Called the number basically said wait for your turn even though the person next to us came after us yet got it first. Literally don’t come unless you got the time of the day to wait.

This Walmart used to be my favorite, but now it is the least. Its constantly messy, disorganized, and un-stocked on many items. Some items are now locked up and when trying to reach an employee to help, it takes more than 30 minutes. At this point, I mainly do curbside pick up, that part of the store is really good. Sometimes they do get behind or there is technical difficulties and 7/10 ill be notified with a phone call or a curb side employee comes to notify customers in the parking spots. I’ve only had one mishap in curb drive but quickly was resolved.

The tire center is amazing. I do show up around opening time. That way, I can be out in 45 minutes or less….. The store has recently changed. It does feel a bit more spacious. The Walmart team has really improved in their customer service and store always clean. One suggestion, which im not sure they would be allowed to do due to law, they should probably have an employee that checks IDs at self check outs like they do when you buy cough syrup. Favorite Walmart by far…… Suggestion, upgrade registers for them to accept Samsung/Apple pay.

I know people give Walmart s bad wrap but this Walmart is pretty good, always clean. I did have a small complaint about today’s visit. They ran out of bags. Good thing I didn’t have too many things in my cart.

Worst Walmart ever. Boxes of items strewn about everywhere, only one employee with a key to all the locked cases in the store. Dirty. More focused on taking your money than then are about running a functional store. Hire more people and get your act together. Of you’re thinking of shopping here, do yourself a favor and spend your money somewhere else.

  1. I love my super center in Bakersfield. I have been lucky that so many employees there have been there a long time! Most always say hello if they are not busy. I know they all work hard because the store is always busy. Only downside is when they don’t have enough cashiers, but lately that problem seems not as bad as in the past! Good!! Be sure to tell your cashier…. “Thanks for being here, I appreciate you!!”

  2. I order my groceries online & pick them up. Today I had a big order and Fransisco Mendoza bagged my order & brought it out to my car. Fransisco was pleasant and very quick loading up my items. Thank you for being so professional at 8am Fransisco ! Great job.👍

Lines are DISGUSTINGLY LONG and there is NO self check out. They need to have more lines open. Also the make up is in a whole different area, with it’s own cash register. Clothing is cheap, and they have a bigger home/tools department than Target. The place is ALWAYS packed unless you go right when they open. If I can I go to Target.

  4. Not only do the products suck but the workers too. For example, a sponsor wouldn’t leave my little cousin and I alone even after we told him no thank you. Definitely a scary situation as two young ladies trying to mind our own business.

  5. As usual WalMart has 1000 registers and is only operating two of them. The lines are backed all the way up to men’s wear. They don’t want people to steal, but are making it impossible to PAY!!!!!
