a week agoI never use these, but I thought hey I’ll be lazy today and run by the zips car wash. 24 bucks wasted down the drain. Should have stayed with my routine of hand jobbing it myself. Didn’t even wash the easy stuff off the running boards.a month ago*update 6 weeks in: I’m more disappointed with consistent closures, not rinsing soap, mildewed drying towels and shutting the power off to my vacuum at 7:59 pm. Currently not a great value in my opinion, hope they straighten things out soon!Nice facility. Needs maintenance on some of their vacuums. Staff was super friendly and helpful.
2 weeks agoGreat car wash for the most part but there have been several times I’ve been here around 8-10am and there are cones blocking the entrance but the car wash hours say open. So it’s a little misleading and I never know what I’m going to get and have to drive out of my way to go here. Also, the vacuums could use a little more suck but the wash itself always does the job!2 months agoI regret to say that my experience at the Zips car wash on Airport Road has been consistently disappointing, leading me to give it a two-star review. Despite regularly visiting various Zips locations in the area, this particular one falls short in several areas.Firstly, it’s frustrating to find that half of their vacuum cleaners are consistently out of service. Even the ones labeled as “working” are often neglected and filled to the brim, resulting in minimal suction power. This lack of attention to maintaining their equipment greatly diminishes the quality of the service.
Adding to my dissatisfaction, I encountered a situation last week where the car wash was shut down for cleaning. While cleanliness is important, one would expect such maintenance tasks to be scheduled during the least busy hours or after the facility closes. Unfortunately, this inconvenience seems to be a recurring theme at this location.
Furthermore, when I tried to change my payment method, I was surprised to find that they didn’t have a card reader available for such transactions. In this day and age, it’s essential for businesses to provide convenient payment options, and the absence of a card reader reflects a lack of attention to customers’ needs.
It’s disheartening because this Zips car wash is situated in a prime location in Asheville. I had high hopes that they would maintain the same level of service and quality as other Zips locations, but sadly, my experience over the past year has been consistently terrible.
If you’re in need of a car wash in the area, I strongly recommend going to the Zips on Tunnel instead. They offer a more satisfactory experience and are better equipped to meet customers’ expectations.

I was originally told the part was broken. Then clearly when it was fixed, they still don’t do it. My car isn’t ever completely clean when I leave there. My car looked the same as it did before I got the wash only wet.a year agoI used this car wash on June 3rd. According to Christian who stated he was the manager, the system malfunctioned and the top roller was not properly turned off. As you can see the roller damaged my rod holder, rack and bent the rails on my truck bed where the clamps for the rack held it on the bed. I was told that the individual running the car wash should have never left the bay as it was his job to hit the kill switch if something happened. He left the bay and proceeded to enter his van at the entrance of the car wash. I had to sit in The car wash while blowing my horn to try and get the attention of someone. I was left In The bay for multiple minute. I blew my horn and No one came to help. I finally had to exit the bay at my peril to finally find Christian, who was about to leave for the day. I was told this would be taken care of and that they would pay for all damages. I have given Christian a quote for all things damaged. It is now 06/16 and I still have not heard from anyone on how this damage will we resolved. FYI I was told by one of the individuals who did my quote for the truck that this is a regular occurrence at Zips. When I told him what happened he asked if it happened at Zips. Used this car wash at your own peril. I have now tried to follow up with Christian the last two days and am being ignored. Left a message, no call back.Update…. We are now on day 6 with no calm back from Manager Christian. I asked him to provide me with a claim number. You would thing 20 days after a claim was created that this would be provided to the customer. No such luck.
I filled out the online form as the response to my review asked me to do. We will see if corporate cares about what is currently happening with this situation. At this point, unless you have the money to fix damages caused by this car wash out of pocket and then go after them in small claims court I would not recommend getting your vehicle washed here. Not a good place when things go wrong.

First of all.. it’s fun to take the ride through the car wash! After the ride you can use these powerful vacuums to clean the interior. They also provide towels and squirt bottles for the few chunks of serious ich.
I had the pleasure of coming through the wash while Dwayne was working. It makes such a big difference on who starts the wash. Dwayne made his way fully around my truck, and took the time to spray out my wheels. I hope I come through when he’s working again. Thanks Dwayne
Good luck trying to cancel your membership. The place on Tunnel is great and super awesome peeps, but the corporate side of trying to get out of a membership (aka like a gym membership) makes you second guess wanting to use this company again.
I love the car wash itself but, more times than not, here lately, the people that guide cars in seem very impersonal, even with scows on there faces, just angry at the world. Then goes back inside. Did the service stop where they spray the bottom of the car around it before entering?
Just moved here from Atlanta. Yikes, I was expecting to find better car washes here in Asheville. If this is a 4.3 rated business, I hate to see what a 3.3 rated one is like. My first impression is that the facility is filthy inside the car wash and especially out in the vacuum bays. Half of the vacuum hoses were unhooked, and the first two I tried had virtually no suction in them. The car wash folks here in AVL really need to up their game.
