So apparently ALL of the Costco Food Courts are going to have kiosks for credit/debit cards now.

I understand that they are trying to cut down on the lines but the rollout today in Altamonte Springs was rocky at best primarily due to the employee assigned to the kiosk to “help” and the manner in which corporate chose to roll things out. The employee was more than a bit abrasive and was incorrectly telling people that this was the last week for cash. (It’s not, they will continue to take cash at the window.)

I paid cash as I always do and actually got my food a solid 15 minutes before kiosk users who ordered at the same time. While I ate, I counted 25+ people who walked away without purchasing food due to a combination of the new system and the person manning it.

When I went inside to tell management about my concerns, a manager who took his name tag off so he could not be identified, argued with me instead of even trying to listen. I’ve been a member of Costco since the Altamonte Springs location opened and I’m really starting to question continuing my membership. Very disappointing.

Parking was kinda hard to find but that was expected, was getting gas and they had cones out blocking traffic for 3 of the gas lines when it didn’t even need to be there. Gas was cheap but line is always long. Nonetheless, would always recommend people to go to Costco for the cheap gas, food (at the food court), and to buy groceries in bulk.

Nice Costco as like most of the others. I find myself wondering why I have a membership there because there are rarely good deals.

Costco was great. Found this new ice cream and it is awesome. Island breeze. Also customer service is good as well. Clean and organized.

Everything was fine until we went to checkout and the cashier called someone to come talk to us to upgrade our membership. This is not customer service. It’s harassment. All you’re doing is delaying us from leaving in a timely manner and making customers behind us wait. This behavior makes me not want to renew my membership at all.

How to Shop Smart at Costco: A Quick Tutorial Deltona FL

Shopping at Costco can be a great way to save money on groceries, household items, and more. With a few guidelines in mind, you can make the most out of your shopping trip and take advantage of the deals and bulk purchasing options that Costco offers.

Here are some tips for shopping at Costco:

  • Create a shopping list: Before heading to Costco, make a list of the items you need. This will help you stay focused and avoid impulse purchases.
  • Shop with a friend or family member: Splitting the cost of a membership and shopping together can help you save even more money.
  • Check for coupons and discounts: Costco offers monthly coupon books with additional savings on select items. Make sure to check these out before you go.
  • Browse the center aisles first: Costco typically stocks their seasonal and limited-time items in the center aisles. Check these out first to see if there’s anything you need or want.
  • Compare unit prices: Costco sells items in bulk, so it’s important to compare the unit price to make sure you’re getting the best deal. Sometimes, buying in bulk may not actually save you money.
  • Be mindful of expiration dates: Some items at Costco have a long shelf life, but others may have a shorter expiration date. Make sure to check the dates before purchasing.
  • Consider the cost of membership: Costco requires a membership to shop, so factor in the cost of the membership when determining if the savings are worth it for you.
  • Use Costco gas stations: If there’s a Costco gas station nearby, consider filling up there for additional savings on fuel.
  • Don’t forget the food court: Costco’s food court offers affordable and tasty options for a quick meal or snack. Don’t overlook it on your visit.
  • Be prepared for crowds: Costco is known for being busy, especially on weekends and during peak hours. Be patient and plan your shopping trip accordingly.

By following these guidelines, you can make the most out of your shopping experience at Costco and take advantage of the savings and deals they offer.

  1. This place is always madness when it comes to the crowds of people shopping here, but the store always seems well staffed and the lines, sometimes long, go rather quickly. I like to gas up, order my whole pizza, do my shopping, check out, grab my pizza and go. Just don’t go when your hungry or your basket might get filled rather quickly with those featured sample items, 😁. The bakery crossaints and rotisserie chicken are must buys!

  2. I came in today to get some bananas for my business. I had forgotten my card. Adrian at the customer service desk helped me get a temporary pass and took the time to explain (and show me!) how I can use the app instead. When I got to the bananas with my flatbed cart Danielle not only helped me load my cases of bananas, but she also explained to me that if I called early in advance in the am, they can get them ready for me. I was previously told I would have to go across town to the Costco business center for them to be able to do that for me. I really appreciated both staff members. They made my visit pleasant and easy.

  3. I absolutely love this Costco! It offers a wide range of products at great prices, and the overall shopping experience is fantastic. The one area where I wish they had more options is in the frozen items section. While they do have a decent selection, I believe expanding their frozen food offerings would be a great addition.

Additionally, I appreciate the quality and value of their clothing items. However, it would be even better if they could offer a wider range of premium quality clothes at reasonable prices. This would provide more options for shoppers looking for stylish and high-quality apparel.

Overall, despite these minor suggestions, I still highly recommend this Costco. It’s a wonderful place to shop, providing excellent value for money and a wide variety of products. From household essentials to electronics and everything in between, Costco remains a go-to destination for great deals.

  4. I go here often and it’s usually fine, the checkout lines are almost always disorganized but I’ve come to expect it. Today was especially bad (09/05 around 2pm) which makes sense since they were closed yesterday, but that’s not what made it a bad experience. When I first walked in I went right to the laptops and quickly found one I wanted to purchase, there was no employee nearby so I waited for a few minutes and after 5 minutes of not seeing anyone I walked away to do the rest of my shopping. I came back when I was done and the associate was now there talking to another customer, so I walked over to the laptop I wanted and waited. After another 5 minutes of being ignored I took a picture of the tag and grabbed one of the slips and that’s when the guy finally asked if I needed help, to which I said yep I want this one, he said alright and asked if I knew about the warranty and I assumed he meant the payed protection plan they offer through allstate and said yes but I’m okay and wouldn’t like to pay for it, and then he caught an attitude and said “like I was trying to tell you it comes with a free 2 year warranty”. Through this whole interaction I was being polite but not overly friendly as I was trying to get out of there quickly and had already had my time wasted so the fact he was rude was very off putting. I wish I had looked at his name tag but I was so annoyed I just took the slip from him and walked away. Either put more staff in the electronic department or train them to at least ACKNOWLEDGE someone when they walk up
