5 months agoAbsolutely ridiculous, quiet in store, staff everywhere yet only ONE till open with a mile long queue!! Took 20 minutes to get served and i only had two items, plus no apology for the wait from the rude staff! This is a regular occurrence at Willerby, your better going to the Beverley one!a week agoCashier totally ignored me at the till!!!(oldish lady) once she actually served me “no sorry for keeping you waiting”… on checking my bill had overcharged one of two items which were reduced… lack of interest in the customer…a month agoVisited Monday pm. Store full of poor quality cushions and blankets it seemed. Too much Halloween tat. Long queue and slow check out with a bored looking assistant. When she called for extra till staff, staff member slowly sauntered up. It was an all round very poor shopping experience. I used to like the staff at Wilko, maybe they can be taken on instead nowa year agoSTAFF TRAINING REQUIRED!! Unfortunately dropped to one star because of useless staff who have no clue on the legislation regarding the sale of paracetamol, Ibuprofen etc. In 1998 legislation came into force to limit the sale of of certain painkillers and the law states that “It is illegal for shops (excluding pharmacies) to sell more than TWO items per transaction” and “additional items can be purchased in a SEPARATE transaction” unfortunately the clueless staff member who somehow made it to be a supervisor tried to argue that despite making two separate shopping transactions (one for ourselves and one for my father) both paid for with completely different payment methods, because there was two of us (my wife and myself) she couldn’t sell us the Ibuprofen that was in my dad’s shopping because my wife had bought two packets of paracetamol in our own transaction! How utterly ridiculous! for several years both my dad and myself suffer with chronic pain and can go through 4 to 6 packets a week (told to by doctors) so every fortnightly shop we do we buy two of each in Morrisons (four in total!) two of each in Aldi (four in total!) two of each in Lidl (four in total!) AND two of each in B&M and in 6+ years I have never had a jobsworth like this woman in B&M question it! Even when Ive accidentally put the four in one transaction ive always been told “dont worry I’ll put them through separately as its only TWO per transaction so you can buy more! Obviously they have been trained better!. Unfortunately the receipt doesn’t have a name but it was receipt number 13033 12/8/2022 at 15:54 in case B&M read this and would like to address the issue with the staff member!.2 months agoExtremely rude staff, the woman had a name badge with Nichola written on it but was then called Karen by another staff member so not sure which one her name was but she was serving another staff member called Amanda. I would suggest they both need customer service training. We joined the line which just had Amanda doing her shopping, on approaching Nichola/ Karen didn’t look at us or greet us in anyway it’s as if she wanted us to think the checkout was closed. Amanda was then taking ages to find something in her bag and Karen/Nichola was just talking to her ignoring the growing line and not scanning any of the stuff that was on the conveyor belt. Customers behind us were also growing increasingly annoyed by this as she was just chatting with her the whole time and not actually serving her and she had a full conveyor belt of stuff. After she finally served her she took another few minutes to find the correct change and was just laughing and chatting to staff. When it was finally our turn she never once spoke to us never said hi and never apologise for the extreme amount of time she had just taken having a chit chat with her colleague, she didn’t to the people behind us either. Extremely rude, this happened at 18:30pm on 07.08.23

Nice place, especially for gardening things. They have a good selection of paints too. You can’t go wrong really, they always have good staff which u need to have to run a good shop.
Adequate, No frills. Staff are helpful. But don’t go out of there way to help like some other places I shop.
I.e Asda.
They Do have quite a good range of hardware and gardening equipment, Outdoor lighting, D.I.Y etc.
The best B&M I have been too. Huge store with great garden section. Assistant happy to help, even though we would be buying from our local store dien South.
Longer opening hours, which is a bonus. We went early morning lovely and quiet.
Took them forever to get more cashiers on the tills, despite long queues and then tried to upsell me a lottery ticket. They should not be “pushing” someone to gamble
