Christmas 🌲 is coming. Pop in here before you go mad in the Tesco Extra. They have an enormous range of Christmas decorations that stand alone or hang from something. Some very attractive items all of it under £20. Times are tough we are all spending wisely… You could come in and see for yourself. It does have everything you could think of to make Christmas colourful and happy.If you are thinking of decorating pop in and see their range of stuff: This huge store is on the retail park adjacent to the Big Tesco and PureGym. It clean and tidy as you can see from the few photos. It’s quiet inside no hissing radio blasting thru tinny speakers in the ceiling. The staff seem attentive. There’s close parking Infront of the store. And wheel chair access. I was in the do it yourself and decorate section getting some ideas for my own place. I tend to have a look see. Do some mental arithmetic rounding up and come to a rough cost of redecorating say the bathroom. Then I know what I’m up against. How much paint do I need how much will it be. And plan it out. Then when I’m ready I go to the places where there is stuff at a fair price that will do the job. Then go in the bin. I’m not interested in jam pots with turps in soaking brushes to be cleaned for next year. It’s a recipe for too many mistakes later as things get forgotten about or tipped up. Anyway enough said.
2 months agoI love B&Ms. Always loads of great bargains to be found and a wide range of products too. The only problem is, I end up coming away with far more than I planned on buying.

a month agoThis is a great big shop with lots going on. The security guard Dale is good at his job. He once saved my scooter from thieves. The staff here seem happy to be doing what they do. Always helpful cheerful and kind. I bought my air fryer from here and it is great. This is a good place for bird feeders who are looking for good bird feed. Be it far balls suet balls, seeds or suet pellets. They have every conceivable bird food item going on in here. And what else about B&M stores more generally. This shop is a very good substitute for Wilko and people know it. It’s a good store with a very good website to look at. If you’re after something try here first. Then go look at other more expensive shops and see what they have. I’m reasonably confident it will cost less at B&M. And you’ll return to get that item. I do it all the time.3 months agoDepends which B&M store you go to. This one at Hylton Retail Park is lovely to shop in. Great variety of stock and some surprising bargains, but watch some of their staple food stuffs, and laundry stuff like fabric conditioners, and some of their soap powders and liquid pods as I’ve found their prices on those have crept up and can are more expensive brand for brand than you can find elsewhere. Otherwise great stores, though have to say with all honesty if shopping after 8pm in South Shields B&Ms at times some staff really have attitude and a couldn’t care less approach in my opinion, including one a couple of weeks ago who was moaning to another member of staff they couldn’t understand why they stayed open so late into the evening, so shopping late at that particular store at those times isn’t particularly pleasant.in the last weekGreat store always have what you want and great knowledge of products.3 months agoLovely staff who helped me purchase what I needed also had a good laugh with the staff as they were so friendly.3 months agoGood selection of goods from groceries/pet food/ seasonal products/ gardening/ DIY ETC. I wish B&M didn’t have the impulse buy maze as you walk in but always have good prices. This time we were after some bedding plants and they had a good selection.
There are always really long queues and only one or two tills open. One of the cashiers always makes comments that are not acceptable. One day she commented to me about the customer in front of me when he walked away from the till about him buying 1 can of super strength cigar saying he does it everyday on his work break and that his hands are always filthy she then used loads of sanitiser. I found this rude to comment to a customer about another customer.
Going around the shop was fine but at the checkout only 1 person on the tills and the que was halfway down the aisle. After about 10 minutes the person then decide to ask for help and they opened another till. The shop wasn’t that crowded. 😟
Always go here for my 88vape juices, today my 21 year old daughter and my 19 year old daughter went in for my 21 year old to buy her juices and was ID’D (fair enough she looks young) cashier didn’t even look at her ID but they also wanted ID from my 19 year old who wasn’t even there to buy anything just shopping with her sister !!!! Baring in mind she dusnt vape, my 19 year old didn’t have ID so my 21 year old daughter was turned away so I went in and THEY REFUSED ME as my 19 year old daughter was with me, so if my mam (who is in her 60s) went in with my 15 year old daughter would they refuse her?? This is disgusting and won’t be going in there anymore will use my local branch from now on!!!! I’d put no stars if had the option.
Beware of getting ripped off in here. Purposely putting none sale items in the 15% off section. When I queried it at the till I was put straight by a Karen as if I was trying to rip them off.
