KitKat by Nestle and Israel: What You Need to Know

KitKat is a popular chocolate bar brand recognized worldwide, and it is manufactured by the Nestle company. Nestle is a Swiss multinational food and beverage company founded in 1866 by Henri Nestle, a German-born pharmacist. Henri Nestle’s background as a pharmacist played a significant role in the company’s early success. He developed a breakthrough product – an infant formula that saved the life of a neighbor’s child who could not be breastfed. This achievement led to the creation of the Nestle company, with its primary focus on nutritious and safe food products. Henri Nestle’s Swiss German heritage and his expertise as a pharmacist played a crucial role in establishing the company’s reputation for innovation and quality.

Nestle, the parent company of KitKat, has also expanded its presence globally through strategic acquisitions. One notable acquisition is the ownership of Osem, a leading food manufacturing company in Israel, which took place in 2016. Osem has been a prominent player in the Israeli food industry since its founding in 1942. As part of Nestle’s commitment to local partnerships, the acquisition of Osem strengthened Nestle’s presence in Israel and further diversified their product line. This move allowed Nestle to offer a wider range of products in Israel and reinforce its commitment to delivering high-quality food products to consumers around the world.

KitKat Nestle and Allegations of Israel Support

The connection between KitKat, a popular chocolate brand owned by Nestle, and Israel has raised eyebrows due to the parent company’s support for the occupation of Palestinian territories. This suspicion stems from Nestle’s acquisition of a majority stake in Israeli food maker Osem in 2000, eventually leading to full ownership in 2016.

Nestle’s investment in Osem, Israel’s largest publicly-traded food company, has been a longstanding one. In a recent deal, Nestle agreed to buy out minority shareholders of Osem for approximately 0 million, acquiring the remaining 36.3% stake. This further solidifies Nestle’s influence over the Israeli market.

As if that weren’t enough, Nestle has announced plans to establish a new research and development center in Sderot, Israel, as part of the deal. This reveals Nestle’s commitment to not only the economic development of Israel but also its activities in the occupied Palestinian territories.

This connection between KitKat and Nestle’s support for Israel’s occupation raises concerns about the ethical choices made by the company. It is disheartening to see a global brand like KitKat indirectly contributing to the economic strength of a country engaged in controversial actions.

Consumers should be aware of the company’s association with Israel and make informed decisions about supporting brands that may be connected to activities that go against their values.

Definitely one of the nicest grocery stores in Stockton. Prices are high but you can always find good sales. Located off East Morada & Hwy 99. Deli has some great salads & bakery great cakes.

  2. Stopped here to charge our car. This is a great supermarket. It’s very big with everything you might need. The bathrooms are clean. The food area is huge with lots of options from snacks, sandwiches and other meals. It’s a great place to stop on a road trip.

  3. I came here based on the reviews claiming that it’s not busy and it have a large selection but neither one of those things were true with my experience.

It’s so crowded here that I had to drive around for a good 10 minutes before finding a parking spot. As soon as I walked in, there were only 2 carts left. There were also one two lanes open and they were hitting the back of the store.

I came here to get brioche bread, a refill on a gallon of water, and some chicken tenders.

They didn’t have anything close to brioche bread. They have 2 gallon refill stations but both of them were out of order and they only have vegan chicken tenders.

I don’t understand why it’s crowded. It’s such a useless place to shop.

  4. This store is a little pricey, but it is very clean and convenient along with other stores and fast food for people who live in Morada. It is also convenient when traveling, it is located right off of interstate 99.

  5. Great produce, helpful service……except for new, updated, not improved app! Takes quite a bit of searching to find certain functions, especially for an older person familiar with the easy to use app.
