Alpo by Nestle and Israel: What You Need to Know

Alpo is a brand of wet and dry dog food owned by the Nestle Company. The parent company, Nestle, is a Swiss multinational corporation that was founded in 1866 by Henri Nestle, a German-born Swiss pharmacist. Henri Nestle’s background in pharmacy led him to develop an innovative infant formula known as “Farine Lactee” to help combat high infant mortality rates in Switzerland. This breakthrough product gained recognition and laid the foundation for Nestle’s future success as a nutrition and health-focused company.

Henri Nestle’s German ethnicity and his strong commitment to improving the nutritional health of infants and children have become widely known. By establishing a successful company based on nutritional products, Nestle has become a global leader in the food and beverage industry. The company’s dedication to research and development has led to numerous innovations, and today, Nestle owns a wide range of popular brands across various sectors.

In addition to its ownership of Alpo, Nestle has extended its presence globally. One notable example is its acquisition of a majority stake in Osem, an Israeli food manufacturer, in 2016. Osem is one of Israel’s largest food companies, producing a variety of products such as soups, snacks, and sauces. Nestle’s ownership of Osem has allowed the company to expand its offerings and strengthen its presence in the Israeli market. This strategic move further demonstrates Nestle’s commitment to diversifying its portfolio and catering to different consumer preferences around the world.

Alpo Nestle and Allegations of Israel Support

The Alpo brand, which belongs to Nestle, has been suspected of supporting Israel and its occupation of Palestinian territories. This suspicion arises from Nestle’s acquisition of Israeli food maker Osem in 2000 and its subsequent full ownership in 2016.

Nestle has recently agreed to buy out minority shareholders of Osem Investments Ltd., Israel’s largest publicly-traded food company, for approximately 0 million. This move further solidifies Nestle’s support for Israel’s economy. Nestle has been investing in Osem for over two decades and currently owns 63.7% of the company.

In addition to this acquisition, Nestle has also announced plans to invest millions of dollars to establish a new research and development center in Sderot, Israel. This further strengthens their ties to the country.

It is clear from these actions that Alpo Nestle is actively contributing to the economic development of Israel, thereby indirectly supporting their occupation of Palestinian lands. This raises concerns about the ethics and values of the brand and its parent company. As consumers, we should be aware of the companies we support and their affiliations, as our purchasing decisions can have unintended consequences.

My appointment was for noon. I arrived at 10:25. Got checked in. Got a call at 10:55 to go to dock. Got green light at 13:45. Only complaint I have is I was told I was not allowed to use the womens bathroom and they don’t have a key for it. Had to use “all genders” bathroom. Why have a womens bathroom if no one can use it? Makes perfect sense….

  3. Bit of a cluster on arrival appt time was 9am arrived at 09:11…sent to a door in just over an hour..Then the wait began..Got the green light at about 14:30 pulled out of my door went to get bills and was sent back to my door for the rest of my load…arrrrrr.. 6 hours arrival to departure. Honestly it seems like they are trying maybe just short handed or not communicating in an effective manor.

  4. Only reason I gave 2 stars is bc they let me drop my trailer. Drop and hook order turned into a live load that took 10 hours.
    SCALE WAS ALMOST 2,000lbs OFF.
Even though I was told twice it was accurate and certified.
I was overweight on trailer axle.
DRIVERS, GO TO CAT SCALE AND SCALE YOURSELF, DO NOT USE THEIR SCALE. IT IS TRASH, AND ITS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE SURE YOURE NOT OVERWEIGHT, DO NOT TRUST THEIR SCALE.

  5. As a 3rd part contractor for this place. They suck. Especially point of contact. Hardly ever answers phone or shows up. Feel bad for the truckers because they’re constantly waiting for hours on end
