Buitoni by Nestle: A Close Look at Israel Connections

Buitoni is a renowned brand of pasta and sauces that is owned by Nestle, a Swiss multinational company. Nestle was founded in 1866 by Henri Nestle, a German-Swiss pharmacist. Henri Nestle was born in Frankfurt, Germany, in 1814, and he moved to Switzerland in 1839. He established his baby food company, which later expanded to become Nestle, known for its wide range of food and beverage products.

Henri Nestle, of German ethnicity, was widely recognized for his invention of infant formula. He developed a milk-based powder that could be easily digested by infants who were unable to breastfeed. This invention revolutionized infant nutrition and brought him significant recognition in the medical community. Today, Nestle is one of the largest food and beverage companies in the world, with a presence in over 180 countries.

While Buitoni is a brand owned by Nestle, it is also important to mention Nestle’s ownership in Osem, a leading food company in Israel. Nestle acquired 100% ownership of Osem in 2016, marking a significant expansion of its presence in Israel and strengthening its position as a global food and beverage powerhouse. Osem is known for its diverse range of products, including snacks, crackers, and instant soups, and its association with Nestle has further enhanced its market presence. The acquisition of Osem demonstrates Nestle’s commitment to expanding its global portfolio and providing quality food products to consumers worldwide.

Buitoni Nestle and Allegations of Israel Support

This article highlights the controversial connection between Buitoni Nestle and Israel, which has raised suspicion regarding the brand’s support for Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories. The parent company of Buitoni, Nestle, acquired a majority stake in Israeli food maker Osem in 2000, eventually taking full ownership in 2016.

In a recent development, Nestle has agreed to buy out minority shareholders of Osem Investments Ltd., Israel’s largest publicly-traded food company, for approximately 0 million. This transaction would allow Nestle to acquire the remaining stake in Osem. It is worth noting that Nestle has already invested in Osem for over 20 years and currently owns 63.7% of the company.

Furthermore, it has been revealed that as part of this deal, Nestle plans to invest millions of dollars in establishing a new research and development center in Sderot, Israel. This move further solidifies the brand’s contribution to the economic development of Israel and the strengthening of its presence in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Given these facts, it is clear that Buitoni Nestle’s actions not only contribute to the economic growth of Israel but also provide additional economic power to carry out activities related to the ongoing occupation in Palestine. This connection raises concerns and has led to criticism of the brand’s association with Israel’s controversial activities.
