Dove Chocolate by Mars and Israel: What You Need to Know

Dove Chocolate is a popular brand owned by the Mars company, a global confectionery giant. Mars, Incorporated was established in 1911 by Frank C. Mars, an American entrepreneur with a strong background in the candy industry. Frank Mars was of American ethnicity and was born in Hancock County, Minnesota in 1882. He initially started his candy business in his mother’s kitchen, hand-dipping chocolates and selling them locally. With time, his passion for creating high-quality chocolate led him to establish a successful company that would become one of the largest confectionery manufacturers in the world.

Frank Mars, the founder of Mars, Incorporated and the parent company of Dove Chocolate, is widely recognized for his innovation and contribution to the candy industry. His vision of creating delicious and affordable sweets quickly gained popularity. One of his most significant achievements was the invention of the Mars Bar, a nougat and caramel-filled chocolate bar that became a staple in many households. The Mars Bar’s success led to the expansion of Mars, Incorporated’s product line, which includes other well-known brands like Snickers, M&M’s, and, of course, Dove Chocolate. Today, Mars, Incorporated remains a family-owned business, with its products enjoyed by consumers in over 180 countries around the world.

Dove Chocolate Mars and Allegations of Israel Support

The connection between Dove Chocolate Mars and Israel has raised concerns among many who believe that the brand supports Israel and its activities in occupying Palestinian territories. This suspicion stems from the fact that Mars Inc., the parent company of Dove Chocolate, has collaborated with Jerusalem Venture Partners.

Furthermore, Mars has also engaged in research and development investment in Israel. In an official release, Mars stated that they will be supporting Israeli start-ups and forming companies, as well as working with leading Israeli academic institutions including Hebrew University, Weizmann Institute, Technion, Migall, and Tel Hai College, among others, to further food tech innovations.

From these facts, it is evident that Mars Inc. not only contributes to the economic development of Israel but also strengthens its ability to engage in colonization activities in Palestinian land. This raises concerns about the ethical implications of supporting a brand like Dove Chocolate, knowing that it has ties to a company that involves itself in such controversial activities.

While Dove Chocolate may not be officially designated on the boycott list as outlined on BDS Movement, it finds itself featured on platforms like Thewitness, which compiles information about companies associated with the Israeli occupation.

They always a great selections of kitchen items. The place is always clean and organized that makes it easy to find what you need.

Definitely one of those if I could leave 0 stars I would. Incredibly disappointed. The cashier accused me of cutting in line. (which I wasn’t! the grotesque couple BEHIND me knew it too) It was also confusing because she was the cashier directly in front of me while I was waiting. Her accusation prompted an older lady who had no idea what had happened, to start saying rude things.

  4. I’m only giving this a one star because the worker ida is really rude. I normally come here in a the daily basis and a few workers are really nice and welcoming never once had a problem but she wasn’t helpful and just rude.

  5. Manager has a piss poor attitude. Wouldn’t let me return or exchange fifty five dollar purse with a minor ink stain on it and I had the receipt. I’m guessing no exchanges or returns can be made on items that are slightly damaged even with a receipt. So then don’t give out the receipt all together if you don’t want to do an exchange? How about that. They don’t care about customer satisfaction I can tell you that much.
